Why French People Cringe When You Speak French

🇬🇧 ENGLISH Have you ever tried speaking French in Paris… and got a sigh, an eye roll, or a reply in English? You're not imagining it. But it might not be what you think. In this episode, I share a quote by actor Mads Mikkelsen that explains everything about the French relationship with their language — and why that grumpy Parisian waiter might not be rude. Just passionately, unreasonably in love with French. We'll talk about the history of the French language, the Académie française, and what this all means for you as a learner.
