The Side of Entrepreneurship No One Talks About

Have you ever looked at entrepreneurship on social media and wondered why your version doesn't look anything like that? The slow coffee shop mornings. Working from anywhere. Laptop on the beach. Total freedom. Building a business on your own terms. Those things can absolutely be part of entrepreneurship. But they aren't the whole story. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about the side of entrepreneurship that doesn't make it into the highlight reel nearly enough: the loneliness, decision fatigue, cash flow stress, pressure of payroll, responsibility of leading a team, and the weight of knowing that so much ultimately lands on you. Because owning a business can be incredible. And it can also be really, really hard. When we constantly compare the reality of our businesses to someone else's highlight reel, it's easy to start wondering if we're doing something wrong. We see the freedom without seeing the responsibility behind it. We see the revenue without seeing the expenses. We see the team without seeing the pressure of being responsible for other people's livelihoods. We see the success without seeing what it took to build it. And sometimes, you don't need another strategy telling you how to fix everything. Sometimes you just need someone else who understands to say: I know this is heavy. In this episode, we're having an honest conversation about what it actually feels like to own and grow a business. We're talking about why entrepreneurship can feel so isolating when the people around you aren't business owners, why making decisions all day leaves you unable to decide what you want for dinner, and why being profitable on paper doesn't necessarily mean you aren't stressing about the money sitting in your bank account. We're also talking about the responsibility that comes with growth. As your business grows, you may become responsible for more than your own financial future. You're leading people, making payroll, making decisions even when you're having a bad day, and carrying responsibilities your customers, friends, and even family may never fully see. That weight is real. But so is the reason so many of us keep choosing entrepreneurship anyway. Not because it's easy. Because it's meaningful. You get to build something that goes beyond a job title. You get to make an impact on your own terms. You get to discover what you're actually capable of creating. And maybe, someday, you get to look back and realize you built something that mattered. So this episode isn't about giving you another checklist. There's no new marketing strategy to implement when you finish listening. Instead, I want you to give yourself a little credit. If you're lying in bed thinking about everything you didn't finish today, remember everything you DID carry. If business feels heavier than you expected, remember that the version of entrepreneurship we see online rarely shows the entire picture. And if you've been feeling alone in it, know there are other business owners sitting with the same fears, pressures, responsibilities, and questions. You're building something that matters. You're building something that has the potential to become a legacy. You're putting something into the world that only YOU can create. And even on the hard days, that's something worth being proud of. At Boutique Bestie Solutions, we might be a marketing agency, but we never want you to feel like you have to do business alone. We genuinely want to see you succeed, whether that means working with us, learning from us, or simply needing another business owner in your corner who understands what this journey can feel like. 🌐 Website: Boutique Bestie Solutions 📱 Instagram: @boutiquebestiesolutions If you're ready for fresh eyes on your marketing, we'd love to help. Busy Isn't the Same as Successful: Stop Confusing Motion With Progress

Are you actually growing your business... or have you just gotten really good at staying busy? As business owners, we LOVE to wear busyness like a badge of honor. "I worked all weekend." "I answered emails until midnight." "I haven't taken a day off in months." We tell ourselves that being slammed means we're ambitious, productive, and doing everything it takes to grow. But here's the problem: Busy isn't the same as successful. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about the difference between being in constant motion and actually making progress in your business. Because you can work every weekend, answer DMs until midnight, have a completely packed calendar, and still look at your numbers eight months later and realize your business hasn't grown. Sometimes busyness is actually covering up something bigger: a lack of systems, delegation, strategy, or clarity about what work truly moves the needle. And if your business can only function because YOU are constantly working, you haven't built something scalable. You've built something completely dependent on you. We're breaking down the difference between busy work and CEO work. Busy work keeps you moving. Checking email. Organizing Canva. Posting another Reel. Responding to every little thing that feels urgent. Micromanaging things that don't actually need your attention. CEO work moves the business forward. Reviewing your numbers. Building systems. Hiring. Planning. Creating strategy. Developing partnerships. Making decisions before you're in the middle of the situation. And here's the part that can be really difficult for business owners: Sometimes the work that creates the BIGGEST results doesn't feel like work at all. Planning is work. Thinking is work. Reading and learning are work. Vision casting is work. And yes, RESTING can actually be productive too. In this episode, I'm sharing the story of one of our DIY clients who became so frustrated that she stepped away from her business for an entire week. No content. No emails. Nothing. When she came back, she built her entire welcome series in one sitting. It became her best-converting flow to date. The idea was already there. She just couldn't access it because she was so busy being busy. Sometimes your breakthrough doesn't come during the push. It comes after the pause. We'll also walk through a simple calendar audit you can use to figure out where your time is actually going. Look at last week. What did you spend your time doing? What was busy work? What was CEO work? Did you accomplish the things that could actually move your business forward, or did the day-to-day push those priorities aside again? Then ask yourself: If I got paid based on the IMPACT I created last week instead of the number of hours I worked, what would I have stopped doing? That question can change the way you look at your entire calendar. Because your business doesn't reward you for working the most hours. It rewards you for creating results. Rest does not equal lazy. An empty space on your calendar does not mean you aren't ambitious. And being exhausted is not proof that your business is successful. You can absolutely be incredibly busy going in the wrong direction. The goal is to build a business that can grow without requiring you to sacrifice every evening, weekend, and ounce of energy you have to keep it running. You should be able to step away without everything breaking. You should be able to protect the big rocks on your calendar. You should be able to do the work that only YOU, as the CEO, can do. So after listening to this episode, I want you to ask yourself two questions: What am I going to protect on my calendar moving forward? And... What am I finally willing to let go of? Stop measuring your success by how busy you are. Start measuring it by the impact you create. Ready for fresh eyes on your marketing? The Marketing You Can't Buy: How to Get Customers Talking About Your Business

Think about the last time you recommended a business to someone. Nobody paid you to do it. Nobody offered you a discount. Nobody even asked. You recommended them because something about your experience made you genuinely want someone else to experience it too. THAT is the kind of marketing you can't buy. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about why word-of-mouth marketing is still one of the most powerful tools a business can have and what actually makes customers want to tell other people about you. We live in a world obsessed with social media, ads, AI, SEO, and whatever the newest marketing strategy happens to be. And yes, all of those things can absolutely help grow your business. But a recommendation from someone we already trust hits differently. Referrals allow potential customers to borrow someone else's trust instead of forcing your business to build that trust completely from zero. If your best friend recommends a business, you're already halfway through the decision-making process before you ever visit the website. So how do you create MORE of that in your own business? It starts by understanding the difference between satisfaction and emotion. Satisfied customers are often quiet. Customers who FEEL something have a story to tell. Maybe their order arrived unbelievably fast. Maybe you included a handwritten note. Maybe you remembered their name. Maybe something went wrong and you fixed the problem before they even had to ask. Those are the moments people remember. And the moments people remember are the moments they talk about. We're diving into the difference between good service and genuine customer delight, plus simple ways boutiques, product-based businesses, and service providers can create intentional experiences worth sharing. We'll talk about handwritten thank-you notes, special packaging, unexpected gifts, personalized videos, quick responses, celebrating customer wins, thoughtful resources, memorable store displays, events, onboarding experiences, emails, and all the little touchpoints that can turn an ordinary interaction into something worth telling a friend about. We're also talking about why you shouldn't simply HOPE referrals happen. Build a system for them. Make it easy for customers to refer their friends. Use referral links, QR codes, rewards, post-purchase emails, review requests, and intentional follow-up to encourage the behavior you want to see more of. Because one customer who tells three people, who tell three more people, who leave reviews and become repeat customers creates something an ad alone can't: A compounding effect. And when you combine that kind of organic word of mouth with the marketing you're already doing to bring new eyes into your business? That's how you start building something that can last. So here's the question I want you to think about while you listen: If someone recommended your business tomorrow, what would they actually say about you? Would they talk about your products? Your fast shipping? Your customer service? The community you've built? Your personality? The transformation they experienced? How you made them feel? And if nothing immediately comes to mind, what could you change this month to create an experience worth raving about? Because the strongest brands aren't built simply because they spend the most money on marketing. They're built because customers leave with a story worth telling. Give them a story to tell. "It's Too Expensive" Isn't Really About the Price

Have you ever had a customer tell you, "It's too expensive," and immediately wondered if you need to lower your prices? Before you touch that price tag, we need to talk. Because most of the time, "it's too expensive" isn't actually about the price. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're breaking down what customers may REALLY be trying to tell you when they give you a price objection and the things you need to look at inside your business before assuming your prices are the problem. Yes, sometimes something truly is priced too high. And sometimes a potential customer simply can't afford what you offer right now. That's okay. Not everyone is going to be your customer. But people spend money on expensive things every single day. They buy premium brands, $7 coffees, expensive leggings, luxury handbags, and products that have much cheaper alternatives sitting right beside them. So why are they willing to spend more there, but hesitant to spend with you? We're talking about six areas that could be creating that price objection, including trust, perceived value, messaging, audience alignment, urgency, and the risk someone feels when making the purchase. Maybe they don't trust your business enough yet. Maybe you haven't clearly explained WHY your product or service is worth what you're charging. Maybe your messaging is attracting bargain shoppers when you're selling a premium product. Maybe they want what you're selling, but there's no compelling reason to buy it today. Or maybe purchasing from you simply feels too risky. We'll talk about how reviews, testimonials, consistent branding, clear policies, size charts, fit videos, FAQs, customer content, and transparency can make it easier for someone to trust your business and confidently say yes. We're also getting into the difference between selling the PRODUCT and selling the OUTCOME. Instead of simply telling someone you have a cute sweater, show them why it's the sweater they'll reach for over and over again. Instead of saying you offer email marketing, show them the predictable revenue they could build without relying entirely on Instagram. Your customer needs to understand what's in it for THEM. And when your price is higher than another option? Don't hide from it. Explain it. Show them what makes your product different, why it's better, and why it's worth paying more for. Because premium brands like Apple and Yeti aren't winning because they're the cheapest options. They've built trust, reputation, consistency, experience, emotional connection, and an identity customers are willing to pay more for. So the next time someone tells you, "It's too expensive," don't immediately hear it as rejection. Hear it as feedback. Then ask yourself: Have I earned enough trust? Have I clearly communicated the value? Am I talking to the right audience? Have I given them a reason to buy right now? Have I made this purchasing decision feel safe? If you can't confidently answer YES to all five, don't touch your price yet. Because people rarely buy something simply because it's the cheapest option. They buy the option they believe is WORTH paying more for. Your job isn't to become less expensive. Your job is to become more valuable. Growth Demands Growth: Becoming the Leader Your Next Level Requires

What if the thing keeping your business from reaching the next level isn't your strategy, your marketing, or your offer? What if it's you? That might sound uncomfortable, but here's something I've learned after building multiple businesses and working with hundreds of business owners: The business that gets you to your next level is going to require a different version of you than the one that got you where you are today. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about why growth demands growth, not just inside your business, but inside YOU as the person leading it. In the beginning, hustle works. You're scrappy. You're saying yes. You're doing everything yourself. You're figuring things out as you go, and those behaviors can be exactly what your business needs to get off the ground. But eventually, the habits that helped you make money can start costing you money. Doing everything yourself turns into micromanaging. Saying yes to everything turns into burnout. Keeping everything in your head makes it impossible to delegate. Avoiding hard conversations creates bigger problems. And being afraid to invest can keep your business stuck at the exact level you're trying to outgrow. We'll walk through the identity shifts that happen as you move from employee to entrepreneur, entrepreneur to business owner, business owner to CEO, and eventually CEO to leader. Because every stage asks something different of you. We're also talking about the beliefs that sound responsible but can quietly keep your business small: "No one can do it like me." "I'll hire when I make more money." "I just need to work harder." "I'm not ready." Sometimes the next level isn't about adding another course, strategy, task, or opportunity to your plate. It's about deciding what you need to let go of. The need to be involved in everything. Perfectionism. Control. The need to be liked. The fear of expensive mistakes. The belief that you have to be the expert in every room. And maybe even money stories you've carried with you for years without realizing they're influencing the decisions you make in your business today. We'll talk about what the next version of you actually looks like: making decisions faster, protecting your calendar and your energy, reviewing your numbers, having hard conversations sooner, building systems instead of relying on memory, planning months instead of days ahead, and learning to lead through multiplication instead of control. Because more revenue doesn't automatically mean you've built a better business. The goal is to build something that supports your life instead of consuming it. So here's the question I want you to think about while you listen: What kind of leader does the business you WANT require you to become? You don't have to disrespect the version of yourself that got you here. That hustle, grit, resourcefulness, and determination served a purpose. But there may come a point when you have to thank that version of yourself, let go of what no longer serves you, and make room for who you need to become next. Because growth demands growth. In your business. And in you. Ready to grow your business with a strategy that actually works? Why Great Businesses Feel Different

Think about a brand you're fiercely loyal to. The one you recommend without hesitation. The one you keep going back to even when there are cheaper options. The one you'd probably defend if someone tried to tell you their competitor was better. Why THAT brand? Chances are, it's not just the product. It's how the brand makes you feel. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about why great businesses feel different and how some of the most recognizable brands have created loyalty that goes way beyond their products, prices, logos, or fonts. We're looking at brands like Chick-fil-A, Trader Joe's, Costco, and Disney to unpack the little details that make their customer experiences so memorable. Chick-fil-A creates warmth through consistency and something as simple as "my pleasure." Trader Joe's creates delight through personality, seasonal products, handwritten signs, flowers at the entrance, and little experiences that make customers actually enjoy being there. Costco has built incredible loyalty around trust and reliability. And Disney? They've built an entire brand around creating magic through details most customers probably don't even consciously notice. None of these brands became unforgettable because of one big thing. It's hundreds of tiny, intentional decisions repeated over and over again. And you can do the same thing in your business. We'll talk about why customer experience begins long before someone checks out and continues after the sale, how transparency and follow-up build trust, and why making customers feel like actual humans instead of order numbers can completely change the relationship they have with your brand. Because your customers probably aren't going to remember your logo. But they might remember the handwritten note inside their package. They'll remember that you followed up after their order. They'll remember that you knew their name when they walked into your store. They'll remember when you referenced something they told you months ago. They'll remember how you made them feel like they mattered. And those tiny details don't always require a huge budget. Sometimes they cost nothing but a little extra time and intention. So here's the question I want you to think about while you listen: What feeling does your customer leave with after they buy from you? Because being better isn't always what creates loyalty. Being different does. And when you can consistently create an experience your customers can't quite get anywhere else, you stop being just another option and start becoming the brand they come back to again and again. What's one tiny detail you could implement this week to make your customers feel more seen, valued, or cared for? Start there. Small, intentional things can become unforgettable. Why Being Good at What You Do Isn't Enough

Have you ever looked at another business and thought, "I know I'm better at what I do...so why are they getting all the customers?" Here's the hard truth: Being really good at what you do isn't enough if nobody knows you exist. There are incredibly talented business owners with amazing products, incredible services, and so much value to offer...but they're still struggling to grow because they haven't figured out how to get in front of the right people. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, we're talking about why talent alone doesn't build a successful business and why visibility, relationships, trust, and consistency matter just as much as being great at your craft. We'll talk about why talented business owners often resist putting themselves out there because they don't want to brag, feel "salesy," or assume their work should speak for itself. But if no one sees your work, how is it supposed to do the speaking? Marketing isn't about constantly selling yourself. It's about honestly communicating what you have to offer, who it's for, and how you can help. We're also getting into why relationships create demand, how your reputation is built through results, referrals, and reviews, and why consistently showing up allows people to stop wondering whether they can trust you and start assuming that they can. And if trying to be visible has you convinced you need to be on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, AND every other platform available...we need to talk. You don't need to be everywhere. One channel done incredibly well will beat five channels done halfway every single time. The goal is to understand your ideal customer, figure out where they're actually spending their time, build a strong foundation there, and consistently show up in a way you can sustain. Because people cannot hire you, buy from you, or refer someone to you if they don't know you exist. So ask yourself: What are you doing THIS WEEK to become known? Not someday. Not when you have more time. Not when your business gets bigger. Right now. Because being called the "best-kept secret" in your industry might sound like a compliment...but it isn't. You don't want to be the best-kept secret. You want to be known. Get in front of new eyes. Stay visible. Build relationships. Earn trust. The sales can follow. The Business Advice I Ignored (And Wish I Hadn't)

Have you ever gotten a piece of business advice and immediately thought, "Yeah...that doesn't apply to me"? Same. Sometimes the advice we resist the most ends up being exactly what we needed to hear. In this episode of Your Business Bestie, I'm sharing the business advice I ignored for WAY too long and what it ultimately cost me in time, money, growth, and freedom. After years of building different businesses, I can look back and see the moments when someone gave me really good advice...and I convinced myself I could do things differently. Build the email list later. Say yes to the new opportunity. Keep everything in my head. Wait until I could "afford" to hire. Go all-in for a few weeks instead of building something consistently. Spoiler alert: the advice wasn't wrong. I just wasn't ready to hear it. We're talking about why you need to build your email list before you think you need one, how shiny object syndrome can make you feel productive without actually moving your business forward, and why documenting your systems BEFORE you build a team can create so much more freedom as you grow. We'll also get into one of the hardest lessons I've had to learn: hiring sooner. If you're constantly turning down opportunities, spending hours doing tasks someone else could do in a fraction of the time, or realizing that YOU have become the bottleneck in your business, it may be time to stop waiting for things to slow down. And finally, we're talking about the advice that applies to almost everything in business: Consistency beats intensity. One imperfect thing done consistently will almost always outperform something incredible you only do occasionally. Whether it's email marketing, social media, going live, or another strategy you're testing, you have to give it enough time to compound before deciding it doesn't work. So here's the question I want you to think about while you listen: What piece of advice have you heard over and over again...but you're still resisting? Maybe you don't have the time. Maybe you're scared. Maybe you're convinced your business is different. Or maybe you're just not ready to hear it yet. Give yourself permission to try the thing you've been avoiding, commit to it for 90 days, and see what happens. Because sometimes the advice we ignore isn't wrong. We just weren't ready to hear it.
