Happily Murrayed

Cutdown & The Murrays

Happily Murrayed is us - Conor and Joanna - chatting about our lives, our relationship, and everything that comes with it. From big life moments to the everyday chaos in between, we share the stuff that’s going on with us, the things we disagree on, and the moments that probably should’ve stayed private. We’re figuring things out as we go - balancing life with baby Alfie, building a home, busy work lives, and trying to keep some sense of normality along the way. It doesn’t always go to plan. This is a podcast about relationships - the good bits, the messy bits, and the moments that nearly break you. We don’t always remember things the same way, we don’t always agree, and we definitely don’t have all the answers… but we’ll give it a go. Each week, we also hear from you - your questions, your stories, your dilemmas - and react in the only way we know how: honestly, and usually with a bit of slagging. If you’re here for the chaos, relationship honesty, or just to feel a bit better about how you’re doing it, you’re in the right place. Would You Go On A Jog For A First Date?

This week on Happily Murrayed, Jo tells us all about her trip to Portofino with Penneys — from €60 bellinis and Hugo spritzes to dancing in the streets of Italy and accidentally ruining pesto in a cooking class. Meanwhile, Conor spent the weekend in Kerry reliving his childhood summers in Derrynane and explaining the very strange tradition of teenage “shifting” on the rocks after beach rugby. We also answer your Murray Mailbag questions — including whether a jog is an acceptable first date, whether the man should always pay on date one, and how Jo handled the attention that came with dating one of Ireland’s biggest rugby stars. Plus: jealousy in relationships, World Cup predictions, engagement stories with the Ireland lads, and why people keep calling Jo “Joanne.” Chapters 0:00 – Coming up 2:20 – Kerry vs Portofino 4:50 – Jo’s Portofino trip (and Conor’s suspicions) 8:49 – Conor’s childhood summers in Kerry 10:37 – The “summer shifting” stories 11:46 – Murray Mailbag begins 11:50 – Should wives take their husband’s surname? 13:47 – How do you ask someone out? 14:39 – Best first date ideas (coffee, drinks… or a jog?) 17:32 – How Jo handled Conor’s rugby fame 18:35 – The girl who nearly made a move on Conor 21:03 – Are we jealous in relationships? 22:42 – World Cup sweepstakes & favourite teams 23:55 – Which teammate does Conor miss most? 24:37 – The Dubai engagement story 25:57 – Should we do a wedding special? 26:34 – Jo’s biggest pet peeve: being called Joanne 27:40 – Outro 📩 Send us your questions, dilemmas & stories: happilymurrayedpod@gmail.com 📱 Follow Happily Murrayed on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & YouTube 🤍 Hosted on Acast. This week on Happily Murrayed, we uncover Conor’s surprisingly extensive beauty regime — from facials and shaving his legs to getting salmon sperm injected into his face. We also chat about our first RTÉ radio interview, Jo’s glamorous Portofino modelling trip, watching the European Cup final in a very Leinster-heavy pub, and a brilliant listener email from a Dub trying to adjust to life in Derry. Plus: Murray Mailbag questions, Pete O’Mahony’s plans for our future garden, the butter chicken incident, and our recommendation of the week. ⏱️ TIMESTAMPS 0:00 – Coming up 2:50 – Catch up: our first RTÉ radio interview 4:40 – Watching the European Cup final in a Leinster pub 6:10 – Jo’s best ever facial 7:10 – Conor’s salmon sperm treatment 9:10 – Jo’s Portofino modelling job 9:50 – Listener callback: adjusting to life in Derry 14:00 – Callback: the Derry Chinese restaurant airlift 15:00 – Murray Mailbag 15:30 – Opinions on Whoop bands 17:30 – Pete O’Mahony’s plans for our garden 18:30 – Who takes the longest to get ready? 19:20 – The Jurgen Klopp story 20:20 – Who’s the better cook? 22:30 – The Butter Chicken Story 23:30 – Recommendation of the week: Peelers and The Walk Amongst Us 📩 Send us your questions, dilemmas & stories: happilymurrayedpod@gmail.com 📱 Follow Happily Murrayed on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook & YouTube 🤍 Hosted on Acast.
