Troy calls me an a$$hole - Meet Troy Thompson

Troy Thompson spent years counselling kids who felt stuck, what they didn't know is that he was once once of them. So he wrote a book about it. We talk about his book, The Nostalgia of Trauma, growing up with ADHD and the inner critic he calls the sculptor. We also talk about why 'other people had it worse' keeps so many of us quiet and how the brain can build new pathways. We also get into starting something when you doubt yourself and what happens to creativity when the pressure is on or off. Oh and he calls me an a*****e! Tune in to find out why. Find Troy on Instagram at @troythompsonwrites. This episode mentions childhood trauma, medication and addiction, though not in graphic detail.

Strong Is Not the Same as Surviving - Meet Hella Rader

You can be strong and still be stuck. Hella Rader will show you the difference. Hella is my first international guest. We met on Threads when I asked if anyone wanted to share where they are in life. Hella very generously responded and said yes. In 2021 she got divorced, hit menopause and decided she was done surviving her life. Then she packed a laptop and two mics into her car and drove across America to record women’s stories in the spaces they were comfortable in. In this conversation we talk about: → Why she mistook enduring for strength and what she calls it now → What your body holds when your mouth stays quiet → Reconnecting with friends who saw the real her when she couldn’t → The difference of being afraid of the dark and living in it I'm trying something new, send this to the one friend who always says 'I’m fine.' Content warning: this episode includes talk of domestic abuse and assault. Where to find Hella: hellarader.com and @hellarader on Instagram

The gift of potential and the courage to use it - Meet Craig Harper

Craig Harper is an exercise scientist, high performance coach, author, podcaster, speaker and the person who sparked my love of podcasting. Two weeks out from submitting his PhD after six years of work, he sat down with me for what I can only describe as a full circle moment. We talk about starting something before you feel ready and why excuses are usually just the fear talking. Craig explains the four selves, public success versus internal happiness and what changes when you sit with a parent in the proximity of death. This episode was recorded a few weeks before my Nan passed and we discuss her approach to ageing, living and her thoughts on dying. Craig has worked with people from every walk of life and this conversation carries all of that. It's honest, it's a little raw and it's exactly the kind of conversation I had in mind when I started this podcast.

Tomorrow I'm going to be a beast! Meet Tiffanee Cook

Full circle: Tiffanee Cook joins Where Do I Find You? Before this podcast existed, Tiffanee Cook was giving me the confidence and the platform to use my voice on her show, Roll with the Punches. This week she's on the other side of the mic and it's every bit the full-circle moment you would expect. We talk about how personal training became deep mentoring for her, the ten week coaching launch that made $10k in month one and still didn't feel right and why 'permission' is often the only thing standing between us and the thing we already know how to do. We also talk training in perimenopause, why 'show up exhausted' advice doesn't apply to everyone and learning to trust your own body over whatever the loudest coach in the room is saying. Tiff hosts Roll with the Punches - go say hi to her!

Designing Without Being Right - Meet Joel Sampson

Joel Sampson is head of design at Unispace but this conversation isn't really about buildings. It's about letting go of needing to be right. I had a conversation with Joel about learning to design across Shanghai, Singapore and Australia, where half of what his Western training taught him simply didn't apply. He shares how he unlearned being 'the expert in the room,' why he now leads with questions instead of answers and what changed in him after years of getting it wrong in the best possible ways. We also get into the wildly different design personalities of Melbourne, Sydney, and Adelaide, the objects in our homes that carry stories, and why good design is something you often don't even notice. A conversation about ego, humility, and what it really means to design for someone else. @thrujoelseyes

Skin deep, human to the core: Meet Alishia

I first met Alishia from Bare Laser and Skin in early 2019 when I was preparing for my wedding. I wanted to look my best and the reviews were good, so I took a chance. I was nervous and unsure of what to expect. I certainly didn’t imagine that I would make such a connection with Alishia but that’s what happens when you meet her. There’s a warmth she radiates and it instantly makes you feel calm and at ease. Anyone who has met her will know exactly what I’m talking about and for those of you who don’t know who she is, you’re going to want to. Tune in for this brilliant conversation that delves into exactly who we are as humans and the forms of therapies we use along the way. A slight warning with this episode - we discuss the loss of a child and I am aware this can be triggering.

Credibility over content creation - Meet Nathan

Is it possible to put credibility over content creation? In this conversation with social media early adopter, Nathan McCallum, I find out exactly how that can happen and still gain a following. Nathan is unapologetically himself and that has gained him over 700,000 Instagram followers, yes over 700,000 because what he shares resonates with so many people. From sharing his beautiful family life to educating people in the fitness space right through to his fit checks and brand, Furore, Nathan has carved a niche that is uniquely his. Tune in to find out how this started, how it's going and what comes next for this trailblazer. I loved this conversation as it revealed a side that we don't normally see from a social media personality - it was vulnerable and real and I think you will love it as much as I did.

Ink and Trust: Meet Renee Orlando, Melbourne tattoo artist

Renee Orlando knew she wanted to be a tattoo artist since she was five years old. Watching the artists at her neighbour's studio, she says it felt magical. Getting into the industry wasn't easy. It's male dominated, it's gate kept and there's no clear path in. You network, you show up with a portfolio, you hope someone gives you a shot. We talked about the rite of passage most people don't think about: tattooing yourself before you tattoo anyone else. Understanding what the client feels in that chair changes how you work. My favourite part of the conversation was when Renee said people come to her in their most vulnerable states. That's not just a tattoo appointment, that's trust. If you have ever considered a tattoo or are planning your next piece, then this conversation is for you!

Finding Your Voice: Sandee Facy - Australian independent country artist

What does it take to debut at number two on the ARIA country charts as an independent artist, right behind Keith Urban? For Sandee Facy, it started with a decision to stop performing other people's songs and start sharing her own stories. In this episode, Sandee talks about the personal experiences that shaped her debut album Chasing Clarity, including the moment she knew she had something worth saying. We get into the art of storytelling through music, writing songs that tackle real issues and why people who claim they don't like country music can't stop listening to hers. An honest conversation about finding your voice, embracing your journey, and what it really means to make it as an independent artist. @sandeefacy

    Beyond the Boundary

Imagine being told you’re taking up too much space, despite being a paying customer. That experience changed everything for Jordan from Beyond the Boundary Travel. In this episode, we explore the moment that pushed him to become an advocate for accessible and inclusive venues and why he is still just a guy who enjoys footy and beers with mates. An honest conversation about accessibility, advocacy, discrimination and creating meaningful change.
