When I was in elementary school, i was obsessed with space. I shouldn’t say was, because I still am, but the point stands. Having YouTube on my old kindle lite, and looking up different space videos. I found sci show, people talking about all my favorite topics and embracing science. And that’s where I was first introduced to proper science communication through the internet, and Hank.
In middle school and high school, teachers putting on videos for science classes to introduce a topic we were going into, and seeing the same people show up every time, I was always excited.
All those years of watching that, to today where I’m working in the aerospace industry and seeing the same excited guy move on to talk in his own personal channel about modern day, politics, people, and finally sitting down and listing to an episode of humans, starting with the Reid Wiseman episode, I’m just as excited to hear all of it.
No one I have ever seen has been able to so openly and so excitedly share the wonders of the world as well as Hank. He is insanely good at getting me to stop and reframe how I see the world, how I see people, how I care about the world.
