Standing Firm in the Face of Persecution

Persecution: Standing Firm in Faith In this powerful episode, Lauren welcomes a special guest, the leader of the incredible HOPE Ministry. They dive deep into the reality of Christian persecution around the world and discuss what it means to live out your faith under extreme pressure. Episode Highlights: [0:35] The Harsh Reality of Persecution: Lauren sets the stage by asking listeners to imagine a world where declaring your Christian faith leads to marginalization, violence, and false accusations. Her guest shares his firsthand experience growing up in a country ranked among the top for extreme pressure on Christians. [2:40] The Growing Persecuted Church: Discover the phenomenon of the persecuted church being the fastest-growing in the world. Lauren references Tertullian's famous quote, "The blood of martyrs is the seed of the church," highlighting how hostility often fuels explosive growth in Christianity. [4:15] God's Miraculous Work: Her guest shares incredible testimonies of God moving powerfully in a country where Christians are pressured for their faith. This includes people having dreams and visions leading them to faith (4:40), and the miraculous story of an illiterate elderly man who was able to fluently read the Bible upon receiving it (11:00). [6:50] HOPE Ministry: Rescuing and Discipling: Learn about HOPE (Help Offered to People Enslaved). HOPE's mission stands on three pillars: rescue, disciple, and preach. They rescue families from generational slavery in brick kilns (7:10), provide food and clean water (7:50), and host gospel gatherings where thousands have come to faith. [9:18] Success of HOPE in Freeing Families: Since 2017, HOPE Ministry has successfully freed 176 families from debt bondage in brick kilns, with none having to return. [10:00] The Hunger for God's Word: Hear touching stories about the profound reverence and hunger for Bibles among Christians in a country where Christians are pressured for their faith, a stark contrast to the abundance in the West. [12:45] Advice for Facing Persecution: Her guest offers practical and biblical advice for anyone facing pressure for their faith, whether in a persecuted country or elsewhere. Key takeaways include: Loving your enemies and praying for those who persecute you (Matthew 5) (12:55). Standing up for your rights and avoiding a victim mentality, drawing parallels to Paul's example in Acts 22 (13:50). [15:40] Living for Another Kingdom: Lauren emphasizes the importance of courage and having a pre-committed resolve to faith, reminding listeners of Jesus' words: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul" (Matthew 10:28) (17:30). [21:00] Final Encouragement: Her guest reminds listeners to build their faith on Jesus, not comfort, and to be bold in their witness. Call to Action: Join us in prayer for the persecuted church around the world. Your prayers strengthen our brothers and sisters who are facing immense pressure for their faith. The Hole You Can't Fill

The episode teaches that everyone has an inner emptiness that cannot be satisfied by chasing relationships, highs, or purchases, using the story of the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. It highlights her shame in coming alone at noon and Jesus offering "living water" that ends spiritual thirst, then confronting her pattern of five husbands and a current relationship to reveal misguided attempts to fill her longing. The script connects this to Hosea's portrayal of idolatry as chasing other lovers for "food and water," God blocking destructive paths, and leading people into a desert season to speak tenderly and restore them. It also cites Jeremiah 2:13 about abandoning the fountain of living water for cracked cisterns. The speaker shares personal experience and addiction parallels, urging listeners to seek God first, like the woman leaving her water jar and testifying about Jesus.   00:00 The God Shaped Hole 00:59 Noon At The Well 02:12 Living Water Offer 03:31 Five Husbands Exposed 04:47 Hosea And Idolatry 07:36 Addiction Moving Target 09:38 Desert Season Intimacy 11:07 Rat Race Warning 13:06 Leaving The Water Jar 13:54 Cracked Cisterns Truth 15:57 Puddle Versus River 16:28 Prayer And Farewell   Follow Awakening to Live Podcast on Facebook! Praise in Faith

Lauren Reeves shares a personal "stone of remembrance" moment that tested and strengthened her faith. Lauren later saw how God had been preparing her for weeks through Scripture to strengthen her for this very test. She teaches that abiding in Christ and His Word helps believers recognize God's voice, endure trials that test faith, and praise God in faith for what He has declared. She illustrates this "praise in faith" through John 4 and 2 Chronicles 20.   00:00 Welcome and Theme 01:16 Dog Poisoning Scare 02:19 Choosing Faith Over Reports 04:23 Turnaround and Reflection 05:25 Abiding Prepares You 08:11 Hearing Gods Voice 09:53 Faith Before Seeing 12:13 Jehoshaphat Praise Strategy 16:27 Power of Praise 18:14 Call to Action and Closing
