Why Does God Allow Suffering?

If God is good, why is there so much suffering in the world? And if I'm a Christian — am I not exempt from it? In Episode 2, Samuel and Adeola confront one of the hardest questions in the faith. The answer isn't what prosperity gospel taught us. Walking through Romans 8, 2 Corinthians 4, and Hebrews 12, they unpack why suffering exists, why Christians aren't exempt from it, and what God is actually doing in the middle of it. We talk about: Why suffering is both a judgment AND a mercyThree reasons Christians still suffer (mortality, sanctification, persecution)The fear-based culture that shapes Nigerian ChristianityWhy "suffering is not my portion" doesn't mean what we think it meansConfession culture, pagan roots, and how the prosperity gospel plugged into what was already thereWhy some churches are "recruitment centres for future atheists"How suffering actually deepens our joy and awakens eternal hope"God does not do meaningless suffering." — Samuel Connect with us: Instagram: @drferuke X (Twitter): @2pstspodcast (https://x.com/2pstspodcast) Facebook: Two Pastors Podcast ( / 2pstspodcast ) TikTok: @2pstspodcast ( / 2pstspodcast ) Email: 2pstspodcast@gmail.com New episodes every Wednesday.

What Makes You a Pastor?

What actually qualifies a man to be a pastor? Not what culture says. Not what tradition says. What the Bible says. In our first conversation, Samuel and Adeola walk through 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1 — the biblical qualifications for pastoral ministry — and ask an uncomfortable question: how many pastors in Nigeria actually meet them? We talk about: The inward call vs. the outward call (and why most pastors only have one)Why character matters more than giftingThe danger of "entrepreneur pastors" and franchise churchesProtocol units, inaccessible shepherds, and the "gift of access."Why a man cannot make himself a pastorWhat to do if you feel called but aren't sure you're qualifiedThis is not a catechism podcast. We're not replacing your church. But some conversations need to happen — and this is one of them. New episodes every Wednesday.
