    21. Are You Feeling Lonely in Your Fight Against Breast Cancer? 4 Tips to Keep You Going

Lonely in Your Fight Against Breast Cancer? 4 Lessons From the Wilderness Breast cancer treatment can feel like a wilderness. You may be exhausted, lonely, worried about your prognosis and wondering how you're going to keep going—especially when you're trying to keep showing up as Mum. In this episode of Mom Life and Cancer, I share four lessons from the story of the Israelites that helped me think differently about the wilderness of breast cancer: 🤍 Trusting God for provision when you feel like you're running on empty. 🤍 Letting go of the past when you desperately want your old life back. 🤍 Looking beyond the giant when cancer feels bigger than you. 🤍 Remembering who you are when treatment has changed what you can do. This isn't about pretending cancer isn't hard. It's about finding hope, perspective and quiet faith in the middle of it—one step at a time. If you're feeling lonely, exhausted or afraid of what your prognosis might mean, I hope this conversation reminds you that your diagnosis is not your identity, and this wilderness is not the whole story. I'd love to continue the conversation with you. 📧 Email me at hello@priscambugua.com 💛 Or join the Mom Life and Cancer mailing list for a weekly newsletter with reflections connected to each episode and a little encouragement to help you navigate the week ahead: Visit my website www.priscambugua.com   This episode shares personal experience and faith-based encouragement and is not medical advice. 20. What Should You Eat During Breast Cancer Treatment? Here’s What Your Body Really Needs

What should you eat during breast cancer treatment? When you're exhausted, overwhelmed and worried about your prognosis, food can become one more thing to feel anxious about. In this episode of Mom Life and Cancer, I share what I actually ate during chemotherapy—from smoothies and bone broth to the foods I suddenly couldn't tolerate—and the simple advice from my oncologist that took away so much of the pressure: “Get something in.” We'll talk about nutrition during chemotherapy, changing tastes, hydration, protein, weight changes, supplements and food safety—and why you don't need to chase the “perfect” cancer diet. Most importantly, we'll talk about nourishing your body without the guilt and finding what works for you, one day at a time. If you're a mum going through breast cancer treatment, feeling exhausted and trying to keep showing up for your children, I hope this episode reminds you: You don't have to eat perfectly. You don't have to do everything. And you don't have to walk through this alone. This episode combines my personal experience with information from cancer organisations. Always speak with your oncology team or a cancer dietitian about your individual nutritional needs. 💛 Continue the conversation I'd love to continue the conversation with you. 📧 Email me at hello@priscambugua.com 💛 Or join the Mom Life and Cancer mailing list for a weekly newsletter with reflections connected to each episode and a little encouragement to help you navigate the week ahead: Visit my website www.priscambugua.com

    19. Is Breast Cancer Chemotherapy Changing Your Skin? Tips to look after your skin

Is Chemotherapy Changing Your Skin? What I Wish I’d Known Is chemotherapy changing your skin? When you're already navigating breast cancer treatment, feeling exhausted and adjusting to so many changes in your body, skin and nail changes can feel like yet another thing you weren't prepared for. In this episode of Mom Life and Cancer, I share my personal experience with skincare during chemotherapy—including what happened when my skin and nails turned dark, why I started treating my skin like “baby skin,” and the simple changes I made to care for myself. We'll talk about changing and sensitive skin, nail changes, moisturising, sun protection and knowing when to speak with your cancer care team. I'll also share how I had to tweak my skincare routine during radiation and why your treatment team should always guide what you use on the treatment area. But this conversation isn't only about skincare. When you're exhausted, your body is changing and you don't recognise the woman looking back at you in the mirror, it can affect how you see yourself too. I'll share the quiet reminder that helped me through that season: My body may be changing, but my worth hasn't. If you're going through breast cancer treatment, I hope this episode gives you practical ideas, reassurance and a little reminder that you don't have to navigate this season alone.   💛 Continue the conversation I'd love to continue the conversation with you. 📧 Email me at hello@priscambugua.com 💛 Or join the Mom Life and Cancer mailing list for a weekly newsletter with reflections connected to each episode and a little encouragement to help you navigate the week ahead: Visit my website www.priscambugua.com This episode combines my personal experience with information from cancer organisations. 18. Why Isn't Anyone Talking About This? Breast Cancer Patients Need Blood. Your Donation Could Save a Life

What does a blood transfusion have to do with breast cancer treatment? More than I ever realised before cancer became part of my life. In this episode of Mom Life and Cancer, I share the deeply personal story of needing two blood transfusions during my cancer journey—and the moment I realised that the blood helping me came from someone I had never met. We'll talk about why people with cancer may need red blood cell or platelet transfusions, the importance of blood donation, and the quiet difference one stranger can make in another person's life. I'll also share the faith perspective that became clearer to me over time: sometimes we don't see where God's provision is coming from until we look back and realise He was providing all along. And if you're the one receiving help during cancer treatment, there's another reminder here: Receiving isn't weakness. Sometimes we are the ones who give, and sometimes we are the ones who need to receive. If you're navigating breast cancer, I hope this episode leaves you with a little more gratitude, hope and encouragement—and perhaps makes you think differently about the gift of giving. 💛 Continue the conversation I'd love to continue the conversation with you. 📧 Email me at hello@priscambugua.com 💛 Or join the Mom Life and Cancer mailing list for a weekly newsletter with reflections connected to each episode and a little encouragement to help you navigate the week ahead: Visit my website www.priscambugua.com This episode includes my personal experience alongside general information about blood transfusions and cancer treatment. 17. Has Your Breast Cancer Treatment Not Gone as Per Plan? Tips on Navigating the Unexpected Changes

When Breast Cancer Treatment Doesn't Go to Plan: Finding Hope When the Plan Changes What happens when the breast cancer treatment plan you've been holding onto suddenly changes? In this episode of Mom Life and Cancer, I share what happened when my own treatment didn't go according to plan—from difficult veins and blood clots to severe neuropathy, low blood counts and ultimately stopping chemotherapy earlier than expected. I remember wondering, “Has my body failed me?” But what if a changed treatment plan isn't failure? We'll talk about trusting your medical team, asking better questions, letting yourself grieve, and finding hope when the path looks completely different from what you imagined. And through it all, I'll share the quiet faith reminder that helped me: The plan may change. God hasn't. If you're navigating breast cancer treatment, feeling exhausted, afraid or uncertain about what comes next, I hope this episode reminds you that different doesn't necessarily mean worse—and a changed treatment plan isn't the end of your story. 💛 Continue the conversation I'd love to continue the conversation with you. 📧 Email me at hello@priscambugua.com 💛 Or join the Mom Life and Cancer mailing list for a weekly newsletter with reflections connected to each episode and a little encouragement to help you navigate the week ahead: Visit my website www.priscambugua.com This episode shares my personal experience and is not medical advice.
