Joseph Hawley: Voice Note Diaries

Joseph Hawley

Voice Note Diaries is a one-take living journal from Joseph Hawley — former NFL player, land steward, and sovereignty guide. These episodes come from real life: from the fields of a 72-acre regenerative community in central Texas, from the quiet after plant medicine ceremony, from the drive between worlds, from the hard conversations nobody is having. No script. No edits. No performance. Joseph hits record when something moves through him and presses stop when it's done. The threads: sovereignty and legal reclamation, the Christ frequency (not the religion), plant medicine and rites of passage, fatherhood, land and food and community, the patterns we inherit and the ones we break. Curiosity as divine right. Forgiveness as return to innocence. To be curious is an act of rebellion. Welcome to Voice Note Diaries. joehawley.substack.com

Ep. 43 - The Solution to All Suffering

Something shifted. The thing I've been most afraid of is the thing I now can't wait to do. Six weeks off. A lot happened. I got on stage for the first time — not at a small gathering, but in front of hundreds of people at Solar Punk Summit, sharing the Legend of the Sacred Circle publicly for the first time. Something broke open that I didn't know I was carrying. In this episode: * How I entered Solar Punk Summit with a debilitating fear of public speaking — and left unable to wait for the next time on stage * The 4th grade classroom moment that planted a fear so deep it almost made me quit football before my career ever began * Why “you are God” might be the most dangerous teaching circulating in the conscious community right now — and what I found instead * The Vedic teaching on eternal occupation that finally answered the question of what happens when we die A moment to listen for: ~21:00—I entered Solar Punk Summit with a deep fear of being on stage. I've left Solar Punk Summit incredibly excited at the anticipation for the next opportunity to get on stage. I cannot wait. → Next episode: the Solar Punk Summit talk, live on stage, 30 min. The Legend of the Sacred Circle, out in the world for the first time. Ep. 42 - Battle Tested

It's one thing to build a framework — it's another to watch it hold when everything gets intense. Fall is here and the season is already alive. Last weekend we hosted the most potent experience I've held at Haven — a polarity retreat with 15 women and 6 male facilitators — and it tested everything we've been building. This episode is what came through. In this episode: * A teaching one of my mentors shared about orientation in relationship — and why most couples are looking the wrong direction * What it actually looks like when a wounded archetypal force shows up in a group container — and how the legend of the sacred circle held it * The food question I think most people are asking wrong * How liquidating everything I made in the NFL landed me in the deepest scarcity — and what’s opening on the other side A moment to listen for: ~11:00—The teaching on two people facing the fire instead of each other. If you've ever felt like your closest relationship had no center, this will name it. → What are you oriented to in your closest relationships right now? Drop it in the comments or send a voice note. "Whatever you do, whatever you eat, whatever you offer or give away, and whatever austerities you perform — do that, O son of Kunti, as an offering to Me."— Bhagavad Gita As It Is, 9.27 (Srila Prabhupada) If this episode stirred something and you feel called to explore further — come find us: Center for the New Christian Movement → CNCMovement.org Haven Community Village → atHaven.org Legend of the Sacred Circle → atHaven.org/legend Haven Temple Build → athaven.org/temple-build Copyright © 2026 Joseph Kelly Hawley Trust. Ep. 41 - What are you serving?

I've been off the mic for a while — here's what burning out taught me about what I'm actually serving. I've been in the pattern again — vision opens, momentum builds, plates multiply, and then something gives. What broke me out of it was this question: what are you actually feeding yourself? Not your body — your consciousness, your attention, your awareness. In this episode: * What I witnessed from inside an NFL locker room when the Kaepernick story broke — and what the media got completely wrong about it * A conversation about building a sovereign internet from scratch, and why the first question was: “What even is the internet?” * How late-night YouTube was pulling me further from my own center — and what I did about it * Haven fall season: work days, a work week, and a temple going up by community hands A moment to listen for: ~18:00—The Kaepernick story from inside a locker room where I was the minority.. What actually happened is not what you saw on TV. → What are you feeding your attention right now — and is it bringing you closer to what you're here to serve? Drop it in the comments.. “Tell me what you pay attention to and I will tell you who you are.” — José Ortega y Gasset If this episode stirred something and you feel called to explore further — come find us: Center for the New Christian Movement → CNCMovement.org Haven Community Village → atHaven.org Haven Temple Build → athaven.org/temple-build Copyright © 2026 Joseph Kelly Hawley Trust. Ep. 40 - The Return

Five weeks off. An 80-person event. A room full of NFL players. And now what. I was on the edge of burnout — a familiar pattern I've learned to name. So I let it stop me. This episode is the re-entry: what the Declaration of Sovereignty July 4th event revealed about leading at scale, what happened when I walked into a room of 100+ former NFL players and spoke from my heart about the last eight years, and what's coming into focus as this next season begins to form In this episode: * Why 80 people at Haven felt exponentially different — and what it taught me about creating coherence at scale * What I told a room of former NFL players about emotional health for men — and why I think it’s the conversation that hasn’t happened yet * The visions that are coming to life this fall: Sacred Weaving, the Temple fundraiser, CNCM, and more * The pilgrimage to Peru in 2027 — and the kind of people it’s forming around A moment to listen for: ~18:00—The emotional health insight. What I think the NFL conversation is missing, and why men specifically need a space to feel, be witnessed, and express. It surprised me as it came through. → If any of this is landing — questions, what you're building, what you're working through — I genuinely want to hear it. Ep. 39 - Jumping Timelines

I showed up to DJ a wedding last weekend with 20 hours of mixing under my belt and more nervous energy than I've had in years — and I crushed it. Just got back from North Georgia where I DJed Brandon and Marina's wedding. They lived on property at Haven for almost a year. Beautiful people, beautiful love story. When she asked me, there was zero resistance in my body — so I said yes. What spirit does with a set intention over 18 months still blows me away. I also want to share what happened a few months back with a pocket knife and six stitches, because that small accident told me something I needed to hear. In this episode: * What happens when you say yes before you're ready — and what spirit does with an intention you set and then forget * The coherence drop-in I've been doing in community, and why scaling it is simpler than we think * Declaration of Sovereignty — July 4 at Haven: what's coming and why this one is unlike anything I've tried to put together before * A pocket knife, a hospital visit, and what six stitches told me about how long I've been carrying things alone A moment to listen for: ~8:00—The pocket knife story. A small accident that became a mirror for a pattern I've been running for years. That's where this episode opens up. → Got a question — sovereignty, land, community, consciousness, anything? Drop it in the comments. I'm thinking about opening up a live Q&A. Ep. 38 - Thank You, Past Self

Gratitude isn't a spiritual nicety. It's the actual prayer. And the first thing worth being grateful for might be the version of you that felt like you got it all wrong. This one started as announcements and wandered somewhere I didn't plan. Ended up in the king archetype — the difference between the sovereign who serves the kingdom and the one who expects the kingdom to serve him. Then near the close it turned into something else: a thank-you to every past version of me that made a terrifying decision so I could be here now. In this episode: * The servant king vs. the tyrannical king — what it means to be sovereign inside yourself before you’re sovereign in the world * I was terrified to pray in public as a kid. Heart racing, throat closed, convinced I’d say the wrong thing. What changed * Why I consciously turned my back on God when I left the church at 18 — and why it was the most faithful thing I ever did * What playing offensive line taught me about sacrifice, glory, and who you’re actually doing this for A moment to listen for: ~22:00— "I knew I was never going to find that force for myself if I didn't go out and explore reality. And the world. And the darkness." The counter-intuitive truth behind every real seeker's path. → Declaration of Sovereignty — July 4 at Haven. Ep. 37 - Ritual Technology

We're approaching the event horizon and most people are preparing with more screens and algorithms. The ancients had a different answer. Something is building on this land. Between a call with Liquid Gold — the DJ bringing sacred sound to the Declaration of Sovereignty on July 4 — and the altar in the garage coming into its own, I’m watching ritual technology do what it always does: weave the field before you realize what you’ve created. That’s what this episode is about. In this episode: * What the singularity actually means — and why we’re already feeling the bending of space and time * The altar that birthed itself: how the Chakana found its way to the center and aligned everything * Why visible light is only the size of a dime on a line from LA to New York — and what that says about how much we’re missing * Sovereignty as the Christ frequency: what it actually means that Jesus was called the King A moment to listen for: ~14:00— "When you put intention and awareness onto something and make it sacred, it begins to carry and build energy." The whole teaching, live. → Declaration of Sovereignty — July 4 at Haven. Ecstatic dance, speakers, open mic, bonfire, live music. Ep. 36 - The Sacred & The Profane

On a public beach in Peru, in the middle of ceremony, I saw every single person through the eyes of innocence. Something shifted and hasn’t shifted back. My altar finally birthed last week. The Chakana landed at the center and the whole thing came alive. This episode started there — with the circle, with what lives inside it, and with the question I keep sitting with: how do we steward the sacred when the world is as profane as it is right now? In this episode: * Why the circle has an inside and an outside, and why decentralization without a center doesn’t work * What finally made my altar come alive after two years of building it * What I saw in Peru that I can’t unsee — every person, even strangers on a public beach * The last thing Jesus said on the cross: not doctrine, not theology — the most radical act of courage I’ve ever heard A moment to listen for: ~17:00— The Peru beach ceremony. Seeing through the eyes of innocence. What I understood about every single person in that moment. → What in your life is sacred to you right now, and how are you stewarding it?
