    MSJ #4 - Monomoy Saltwater Journal

    In this Episode Kevin and Eddy get into the topic of 'Summer Doldrums' and touch on some of the impressions of fishing on Cape Cod right now.  Towards the end of the podcast we give a mid season 'grade' on fishing for various species. The primary topic of this MSJ is the developing Bonito fishery over the last couple years on Cape, focusing on the South Side.  We get into some tactics, including Monomoy Tackle product recommendations.  We discuss some theories on why these fish are more prevalent now than in years past.

    2026 MFCC Podcast 21 - Fluke Versus Cancer Recap and Bonito Blitz

    This podcast aired on July 26th on the MyFishingCapeCod.com website. Cape Cod fishing hit a rare stretch this past weekend where two completely different styles of fishing both turned on. Monomoy Tackle founder and owner Eddy Kooyomjian had a front row seat for all the action and was kind enough to provide us with a fresh in-depth report!  Eddy taped this weekend's podcast report fresh off a Friday fluke trip on the outer shoals and a Saturday morning bonito run that produced the most solid funny fish intel the podcast has gotten all season. Between the two days, Eddy fished calm, glassy conditions on Friday and a fast-moving, bird-driven blitz on Saturday, coming home with a full rundown of where the fish are holding and exactly what is putting them in the boat.

    Recorded July 16, 2026 This week, we welcome Bill Mitchell to the podcast to talk about his recent adventures fishing with his kids and family.   We discuss the hot bite in Cape Cod and Bill's favorite methods and lures to target them.   We touch on Monomoy (of course).  Bill also discusses his thoughts on the tuna bite on Cape that's building right now;  he thinks the pogy school arriving are helping this along. Lastly, Kevin and I are give our thoughts on 'Fluke Versus Cancer' and the World Cup Semi-finals.

    In this episode of the MFCC podcast, Cousins Bruno Demir and Eddy Kooyomjian are fishing with their kids on a family trip on Bruno's downeast boat.  Kevin Collins from MFCC interviews Bruno while actively fishing for fluke and the bite is going strong off Monomoy and Nantucket Sound waters.  Bruno and Eddy also discuss their collabraotive effort with MFCC to help raise money for Boston Children's Hospital through the 'Fluke versus Cancer' fundraiser.     In this episode Kevin and Eddy do a recap of a couple of recent fishing trips for Fluke and Striped Bass out off Monomoy.  We talk some fluke technique, gear, and baits on the trip used by Eddy and his family on the trip.  We review some of the recent fishing trends including the squid bite, some interesting black sea bass catches, and the hot bite off Cape Cod Bay continues.  We wrap up with some thoughts on the World Cup which just concluded the group stage.
