Macey Dance

🤍 🤍 🤍  Beez in the Trap—Were Macey and Abbi. We've worked together for years, but if we're being honest, we never really knew each other until this podcast. What started as an idea quickly became something bigger-- a reason to slow down, ask better questions, and have the kinds of conversations that are easy to miss in everyday life. Join us each week as we dive into the stories, laughs, random rabbit holes, and honest moments that make life interesting. From childhood memories and personal growth to funny hot takes and the questions everyone thinks about but rarely asks out loud, every episode is a chance to slow down and have a real conversation. No scripts. No perfect answers. We're figuring each other out one conversation at a time and we'd love for you to pull up a chair while we do. So grab a coffee, join the hive, and see where the conversation leads.🐝 🐝🐝

“The art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on.” — Havelock Ellis This week on Beez in the Trap, we're talking about the art of letting go. And let us tell ya, sometimes there's nothing better than getting the ol' flow flowing again! Whether it's releasing what no longer serves us, getting a good night's sleep (Abbi, we're looking at you), or simply learning to unclench your jaw while you sleep (Macey, that's your cue), we're realizing just how much we hold on to without even knowing it. We reflect on last week's episode with our very first guest, Lonnie, and how the experience exceeded her expectations. And if this little podcast of ours becomes nothing more than a safe place for people to come, share their stories, feel heard, and leave a little lighter than they arrived, well, we'd say that's something pretty damn special. ❤️ We also talk about something that can be hard for all of us to admit: sometimes we need help, even when we've convinced ourselves we don't. Macey shares what she's learned about Lakota traditions of intentional release and how she's begun turning her New Year's celebrations into a personal ritual of letting go, making room for whatever life has waiting on the other side. Of course, we can't stay serious for too long! We get into tattoos and how Abbi seems to have a new one every week, while Macey needs approximately three business years to decide what something means before permanently putting it on her body. 😂 A trip to the thrift store reveals that Abbi is drawn to the CDs while Macey is busy collecting every piece of art and strange little knickknack she can get her hands on. And somewhere in between all of that, we find ourselves talking about synchronicities, the universe, and what happens when we start paying attention instead of just looking. Are those little coincidences really coincidences? Or is there something to be said for slowing down, listening, and noticing the things life keeps putting in front of us? And last but certainly not least, we stumble into the mysterious CIA pain code 55515. Does it actually work? Is there something to it? Macey's still a little skeptical, because seriously... why would the CIA just hand that information over? HAHA! Another week of laughter, curiosity, reflection, and a little bit of everything in between. Thanks for buzzing with us, Beez! 🐝💛

    The Median

“There is a crack, a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in.” — Leonard Cohen, Anthem The Beez have a guest!!! 🐝 This week on Beez in the Trap, we're welcoming our very first guest, Lonnie Rowe! Macey's longtime friend joins Abbi and Macey for an episode filled with chaos, laughter, a little darkness, and a whole lot of heart. It's been a HEAVY week for all three of us, and naturally, we start by discussing the things that have pushed us to the edge. Macey is officially on another Wendy's strike, and let's just say they're lucky the building is still standing. Although, in Macey's head, it may have burned to the ground a few times. Don't worry, that's where all her evil deeds begin and end. Lonnie's got beef with Taco Bell, while Abbi is just excited to discover she's almost earned herself a FREE Jersey Mike's sandwich. It's the little things, people! Somehow, sandwiches lead us into a conversation about older women shamelessly (and rather creepily) hitting on our significant others. Ladies, dont worry, they like it and we dont mind. Things get a little more serious as Lonnie opens up about a painful medical condition that has left her struggling to move and even caused her hair to fall out. But don't feel too bad about the hair, because even after losing so much of it, she's still got more on her head than Macey and Abbi combined! Then we take a trip down memory lane to a mushroom adventure that almost ended in a neighborhood brawl. Lonnie recalls trying to pick a "fight" with her neighbors after a night tripping with Macey, only to end up laughing so uncontrollably that she PEED HER PANTS. Thank God for Preston, who managed to get everyone to back off and escort her home, pee pants and all. 😂 Meanwhile, Macey discovers that apparently aliens and electroculture are perfectly acceptable conversation topics, but feelings and acid? ABSOLUTELY NOT. Hopefully everyone recovers from that one, because she's still got plans to experiment with electroculture and, you know, SAVE THE WORLD! But somewhere between the fast-food feuds, mushroom mishaps, and impending natural disasters, we find ourselves in a much deeper conversation. Sorry, boys, we're talking PMS. And not just the cramps and cravings. We're talking about the dark places our minds can take us, the discomfort of existing in our own skin, and the strange way those difficult moments can bring old versions of ourselves back to the surface. Versions we thought we'd already outgrown. And then, just when we're knee-deep in the chaos of our own minds, Abbi comes through with some of that beautiful wisdom of hers. CHEF'S KISS! 🤌💋 She offers Macey some advice and words that carry real meaning. The kind of words that make you stop, reflect, and see things from a different perspective. A reminder that sometimes we get so caught up in trying to figure everything out that we forget to simply allow ourselves to be. And sometimes, having someone who can offer a little perspective, a little honesty, and a whole lot of heart is exactly what we need. Maybe those cracks we spend so much time trying to hide are exactly where the light is meant to enter. Lonnie, we love you! Thank you for sharing your laughter, your wisdom, your vulnerability, and your absolutely ridiculous stories with us. We couldn't have asked for a better first guest! As always, stay curious, stay kind, and Bee Honest! 🐝💛

    NEVERMORE

“There’s a little bit of devil in her angel eyes, she’s a little bit of heaven with a wild side.” — “Helluva Life,” Frankie Ballard This week, the Beez had themselves a weekend of adventure. Abbi took herself on a Saturday night date to an Edgar Allan Poe speakeasy—and while she may not think sitting alone, taking it all in, is particularly brave, apparently everyone else does. Maybe being comfortable in your own company deserves a little more credit than we give it. Somehow Poe leads us to… SpongeBob SquarePants. Naturally. Macey may be a full-grown adult, but she has seen every episode, knows all the songs, and will die on the hill that we could all learn a thing or two from that happy little square dude. Be kind. Be excited. Love your friends. Find joy in the little shit. SpongeBob gets it. Speaking of little shit… Macey would like a word with Mr. Farty Pants doing computer work at the gym. Sir. We are all breathing heavily in here. THE AUDACITY. Abbi shares her “basic” skincare routine—which turns out to be not quite as basic as she thinks—and why affordable and accessible products are the way to go. Macey celebrated her birthday Sunday, September 27th, alongside one of her longtime favorite artists, Lil Wayne. From Tha Block Is Hot to 40—Happy Birthday, WEEZY! 🎂 She spent the weekend in Boise playing Topgolf, going to dinner, stumbling across a flea market that may have awakened her dangerous thrifting obsession, and receiving an incredibly thoughtful gift from Jason. Macey even gave Jason a little gift of her own on the drive home. 😏 Back at the Trap, Friday's shift was absolute chaos—and considering Macey had basically been asking the universe for exactly that kind of money-making energy, she may have manifested a little harder than intended. And Alice absolutely KILLED her speech. Watching your child stand up and do something that would've scared the hell out of you—even as an adult—hits differently. Sometimes our kids show us what bravery looks like before they even realize they're being brave. Then there’s Arctic Circle. Macey is a fan. Abbi believes eating there is a surefire way to shit your pants. We’ll let the people decide. Eventually we wander into the spiritual side of things: karma and the perfect little web it weaves, horoscopes, synchronicities, and Macey's upcoming appointment with a medium. Will anything resonate? Will we get answers? Will we leave with even more questions? We’ll find out next week. Until then… Quoth the Beez: Love is the only answer to a question never asked 🐦‍⬛

To Dab Or Not To Dab?

“Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be.” — Robert Browning Sometimes growth looks like deleting social media, taking a break from THC, reflecting on the relationships that shaped you…and sometimes it looks like finally cleaning the bathtub you’ve been avoiding for way too long. 😂 This week, Abbi is fresh off SIX whole days away from work and somehow feels like she accomplished absolutely nothing—except that bathtub, which honestly deserves recognition. We talk about Abbi deleting social media and trying to become the example she wants her daughter to see. That leads us into a bigger conversation about outgrowing the things that once brought us comfort. What happens when the things you used to reach for don’t feel good anymore? Maybe growing up isn’t about having everything figured out. Maybe it’s about learning what comfort looks like in each new version of yourself. Abbi also tells us about going to breakfast with her mom and sister after eating a gummy…so naturally, the Bible came up. 😂 Meanwhile, Macey is planning a little THC break of her own to clear her head and make room for whatever life has in store next. One thing we can confidently promise: you will NEVER catch either of us taking a dab. Macey shares the chaos and excitement of helping her 4th grader prepare to run for school secretary, and with her birthday weekend here, we get a little sentimental about sisterhood, childhood, and how relationships change as we grow. Always with love, Macey & Abbi 🤍🐝

    Take My Strong Hand

" You've always had the power, my dear." ~ Glinda (The Good Witch) We start with handwriting—the lost art form that apparently our daughters have ZERO desire to perfect, while we remember being little girls sitting in our rooms practicing our handwriting like our future depended on having the perfect signature. Then a little misunderstanding between Abbi and the school district causes some unexpected chaos for the parents of one particular 6th grade. Speaking of school, Abbi is an ex lunch lady with all the “cool kids” coming through her line—and obviously she has decided it’s because they can feel the good vibes. 😎 We also talk about a party Abbi served the night before for none other than the Order of the Eastern Star. Macey’s name came up, and an invitation is extended for us to come eat with them—with very specific instructions to come hungry. 👀 So… we shall see where that road takes us, if anywhere. Because lately, the home Macey is really trying to find is the one within. Which, naturally, brings us to The Wizard of Oz. Abbi shares her interpretation of the movie, and honestly… she may be onto something. Also, After a month of strange little turtle synchronicities, we finally dig into the symbolism of the turtle—and let’s just say… we may or may not have shed a lil tear. Most importantly, thank you to all of our Beez who keep this hive alive. 🐝🍯 We appreciate you more than you know. Always with love, Macey & Abbi 🤍

    The Greedy Get Guillotined

“Earth provides enough to satisfy every man's needs, but not every man's greed.” — Mahatma Gandhi Episode 13 is a little all over the place—but honestly, so is life. We’re getting back into the swing of things with school starting, which means routines, schedules, and the new fear unlocked when your kids start walking to school. Why are people paying more attention to their phones than the actual humans standing at crosswalks?! A big F U to anyone who doesn’t stop for pedestrians. You’re in 3rd place, as Abbi likes to say! Somehow, Abbi’s guillotine tattoo enters the conversation, and we finally find out why she chose it…which naturally leads us to billionaires and greed. Because apparently that’s the road we’re taking today. We start asking a bigger question: Why? What happens inside a person that makes “more” never feel like enough? How can someone have more money than they could ever spend while other human beings are starving, struggling, and hurting? At what point does ambition become greed—and what are we actually trying to fill when enough is never enough? Then we step into another universe for a minute: What if mirrors had never been created? How would we define beauty if we never really knew what we looked like? How would we judge ourselves? Would we experience aging differently if we weren't constantly watching our faces change? Would we be more connected to who we feel ourselves to be rather than the person staring back at us? And if mirrors never existed, what else would be missing from that universe? What inventions, industries, expectations, insecurities, and ideas of beauty grew from our desire to see ourselves—and eventually, to judge what we saw?Never a bad idea to visit a universe without mirrors for a minute.  We’re also still dipping our toes into the world of Freemasonry and the Order of the Eastern Star, and—as usual—we have questions. Especially about why men and women have historically been separated within these organizations. Because from where we’re sitting, neither masculine nor feminine energy needs to stand above the other. Maybe the real power has always been in what happens when the two come together. We’re still learning, still asking, and definitely not claiming to have all the answers. So as more questions become answers, we’ll keep you posted. Crosswalks. Guillotines. Billionaires. Mirrors. Freemasonry. Somehow, it all made sense while we were talking about it. 😂 So buckle up and enjoy the ride… and please, for the love of God, stop for pedestrians. With love, Macey & Abbi 🤍
