Episode 50 - Have You Accepted God's Invitation?

Send us Fan Mail God is inviting you into His presence. But have you accepted His invitation? Sometimes we become so consumed with life's challenges, unanswered prayers, and our own expectations that we forget something powerful: God wants us to come to Him. And here's the beautiful part. You don't have to have everything together. You don't need fancy words or a perfect past. You simply need a willing heart. In this episode, Val Mitchell shares a personal testimony about praying for her son's college tuition. She believed God would provide through a large scholarship, but God had another plan. Instead of receiving one large financial blessing, she watched God provide each time a tuition bill came due. What she didn't realize was that God wasn't just answering her prayers. He was also teaching her son how to trust Him. Sometimes God's answer doesn't look like what we expected, but that doesn't mean He hasn't heard us. In this episode, we'll explore: Why God is inviting us to spend time in His presence. How to approach God with faith instead of uncertainty. Why God's timing and methods may differ from our expectations. How to release shame and accept God's invitation to come closer.Practical ways to hear God's voice through prayer, quiet time, Scripture, and journaling. What it means to taste and experience the goodness of the Lord.Val also shares a simple invitation to begin spending intentional time with God: Pray. Be Still. Read His Word. Journal. Invite Him In. You don't have to wait for someone else to pray on your behalf. God wants a personal relationship with you. A question to reflect on: What if the very thing you've been waiting for God to do is also the thing He's using to draw you closer to Him? Today, take a few moments to step away from the noise, enter His presence, and listen. The invitation is already there. The question is, will you accept it? If this episode encouraged you, share it with someone who needs a reminder that God is still listening, still providing, and still inviting them closer. Hear God's Voice. Find Healing. Episode 49 - Have You Given God's Place to Someone Else?

Send us Fan Mail We were created to worship God. But have you ever stopped to consider who—or what—is receiving your worship? We may not bow before golden statues, but that doesn't mean we haven't allowed something else to take God's place in our hearts. Could it be your spouse, your children, your career, money, or even ministry? In this episode, Val Mitchell challenges us to look beyond the traditional meaning of worship and examine where we've placed our deepest devotion. Through Isaiah 43:21 and Romans 1:25, we discover how easily we can shift our worship from the Creator to the things He created. Val also shares a personal testimony about the struggle to release control over her son. After exhausting every effort to protect him from making the wrong decisions, God challenged her to do something that wasn't easy—let him go and trust Him. What happened next transformed their relationship and taught her a powerful lesson about surrender. In this episode, we'll explore: What it really means to worship. How good things can quietly take God's place. Why our deepest attachments can reveal where our worship is directed. What happens when we surrender what we love most. How returning our hearts to God can lead us into greater peace.Scripture References: Isaiah 43:21 | Psalm 95:6 | Romans 1:25 | Genesis 22 Here's a question to sit with today: If God asked you to release the very thing you've been holding onto, would you trust Him enough to let it go? We were created to worship. Let's make sure our worship is directed toward the One who created us. If this episode speaks to you, share it with someone who may need this reminder. Hear God's Voice. Episode 48 - Is Your Heart Blocking Your Blessing?

Send us Fan Mail You've prayed. You've received confirmation. You believe God has made you a promise. But time keeps passing, and you're still waiting. You see blessings happening all around you. You're celebrating what God is doing for others, but deep down, you're wondering, "Lord, what about me? Where is my blessing?" What if the blessing isn't the problem? What if there's something in your heart that needs attention? In this episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God, Val Mitchell shares a personal dream that challenged her understanding of being positioned to receive from God. Then we journey into Genesis 28 and 29, where God makes a promise to Jacob before he arrives at a well. The water is already there, but a large stone covers the opening. The provision was present, but something was blocking access! Could the same thing be happening spiritually in our lives? In this Bible study, we'll explore: God's Promises: What Jacob's encounter with God teaches us about trusting His faithfulness, even when we haven't seen the promise fulfilled. The Condition of Our Hearts: How pride, unforgiveness, fear, jealousy, disobedience, and impatience can affect our relationship with God. The Stone Covering the Well: A powerful illustration of examining what may be interfering with our ability to recognize, receive, and steward God's provision. Positioned to Receive: Why examining our motives and surrendering our hearts to God matters more than simply pursuing another blessing. Val also shares personal experiences with forgiveness, pride, and waiting on God's timing, reminding us that none of us gets everything right. Scriptures for Reflection: Genesis 28:13–15 — God's promise to JacobGenesis 29:1–10 — Jacob and the wellDeuteronomy 28:2 — Blessings that overtakeProverbs 4:23 — Guard your heartJeremiah 17:10 — God searches the heartPsalm 24:3–4 — Clean hands and a pure heartNot every delay means something is wrong with your heart. But every one of us can benefit from asking God to examine what's happening within us. Here's your challenge: What's covering your well? Is there something God has been asking you to surrender? 🎧 Listen to this episode and take a moment to examine your heart. The water may already be there, but are you positioned to receive? Send us Fan Mail  You've been praying. You've been waiting for God to answer. But have you made room for Him to speak? Life gets busy! In this episode of Valetha's Greatest Moments with God, Val Mitchell shares a powerful reminder about making room to hear God's voice and positioning our hearts to receive what He wants to say. We'll explore: Making Room for God: Why we must sometimes set aside our agendas and allow God to lead the conversation. The Power of Gratitude: How remembering what God has already done can shift our hearts from worry to thanksgiving. Episode 46 - Have You Forgotten to Thank God for What He Already Did?

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever prayed for something, received it, thanked God…and then somewhere along the way forgot that what you have today was once something you prayed for? This week, God brought me back to a place of thanksgiving. And right in the middle of it, I experienced one of the hardest situations I've faced at work in a long time. I was ready to walk away. But within 24 hours, I watched God completely change the situation—and remind me that the very thing I was frustrated with was once an answered prayer.  Magic-episode-01 (4) In this episode, we're talking about remembering what God has already done, returning to say thank You, and never allowing the blessing to make us forget the One who gave it. So here's the question: What are you still benefiting from today that you need to thank God for again? Scripture References: Luke 17:11–19; James 1:2–4; Matthew 7:24–27; Psalm 23; Joshua 4. Episode 45 - Are You Seeking God—or Just Seeking a Way Out?

Send us Fan Mail Hard seasons have a way of bringing us closer to God. We pray more. We open our Bibles. We enter the secret place looking for answers, peace, direction, and sometimes simply the strength to make it through another day. But here’s the question: Are you seeking God—or are you just seeking a way out? In this episode of Valetha’s Greatest Moments with God, Val takes us back to a difficult season when uncertainty caused many people—including her—to slow down, reconnect with family, spend more time in God’s Word, and seek Him in ways they hadn’t before. And in the middle of it, God gave a simple instruction: Don’t stop when the season changes. Jesus calls us His friends in John 15:15. He desires more than a relationship where we only come running when something goes wrong. He wants us to know Him for ourselves—to learn His character, recognize His voice, trust His Word, and walk alongside Him every day. Even if your faith feels small, give God something to work with. A mustard-seed-sized faith is enough to begin. Get in your Word. Spend time in the secret place. Build the relationship. Listen for His voice. And when the doors finally open and life starts moving again, take God with you. Because maybe the greatest thing God wants to bring you out of isn’t just the situation. Maybe He wants to bring you out knowing Him differently than you did when you went in. Stay with God. Take heart. Don’t quit. Episode 44 - Are You a Believer or a Follower?

Send us Fan Mail There is a difference between believing in Jesus and choosing to follow Him. In this episode of Valetha’s Greatest Moments with God, Val challenges us to look beyond simply knowing who Jesus is and ask a deeper question: Am I actually following Him? Through the life of James, one of Jesus’ first disciples and part of His inner circle, we see what following Christ can look like. James left what was familiar, walked closely with Jesus, witnessed His power, and ultimately became bold in sharing the Gospel. But following Jesus isn’t only about what we say. It transforms how we live. We learn to love like Christ. We learn to forgive like Christ. We become compassionate. We listen. We serve. And sometimes, simply by the way we love someone, they begin to see Jesus in us. You don’t need a pulpit to share the Gospel. Your testimony may be the very thing God uses to reach someone in your family, workplace, school, or community. So today, ask God: “Father, whom shall I bless today? Whom shall I speak to today? Bring them to me so I can encourage them and allow them to see You in me.” Scripture References: Mark 5 Matthew 17 Mark 14 Matthew 9:37–38 Hear God’s Voice. Find Healing. Build Intimacy and Trust. Episode 43 -When Was the Last Time You Told God Thank You?

Send us Fan Mail When was the last time you stopped—not to ask God for something new—but simply to say, “God, thank You for what You’ve already done”? In Leviticus 23, God established sacred assemblies—appointed times set apart to honor Him. In this episode, Val reflects on the Festival of Tabernacles, also known as the Festival of Booths, and its beautiful reminder to pause, remember God’s provision, and give Him thanks. Sometimes we can become so focused on what we’re still waiting for that we forget to celebrate what God has already provided. You may not have the house yet—but thank God for the roof over your head. You may still be waiting on the next breakthrough—but what has He already brought you through? You may still have prayers before Him—but what prayers has He already answered? Val invites you to join her in a simple seven-day thanksgiving challenge: each day, intentionally remember one thing God has done for you—big or small—and take the time to tell Him, “Thank You.” Let’s honor this sacred assembly by remembering His faithfulness, acknowledging His provision, and giving God the gratitude He deserves.
