    Why Can't I Control Myself?

Why Can't I Control Myself? | Self-Control and the Holy Spirit | Eternal Words Why do we sometimes struggle to control ourselves, even when we know what is right? Why do we keep repeating things we promised ourselves we would never do again? The Bible tells us in Galatians 5:22–23 that self-control is a fruit of the Spirit. But what does that really mean for our everyday lives? In this episode of Eternal Words, we reflect on the battle between the flesh and the Spirit, why knowing what is right doesn't always mean doing what is right, and why true spiritual self-control requires more than willpower. From controlling our temper and our words to resisting temptation and overcoming unhealthy habits, we explore how the Holy Spirit helps us live a life that pleases God. The question is not just whether we have self-control, but whether we are allowing the Holy Spirit to guide our decisions. Because walking in the Spirit is not a one-time decision. It's a daily journey of surrender, obedience, and depending on God's strength. Bible references: Galatians 5:17, 22–25 | Romans 7:19 | Romans 8:13 | 1 Corinthians 9:27 Join us for this honest, practical, and reflective conversation about faith, discipline, and the power of the Holy Spirit. Will God Kill for me or you?

Some Christians have heard prayers such as, “Anyone fighting against me, let them die,” or “Let fire consume my enemies.” But is this actually how Jesus taught us to pray? In this episode of Eternal Words, we take a careful look at what the Bible says about praying against other people, divine judgment, spiritual warfare, justice, forgiveness, and personal vengeance. We look at Elijah calling down fire, Jesus rebuking James and John when they wanted to do the same, Christ’s command to love and pray for our enemies, the Lord’s Prayer, David’s response to Saul, and David’s powerful prayer concerning Ahithophel: “O LORD, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.” There is an important difference between praying: “Lord, destroy every work of darkness,” and praying: “Lord, kill this person.” The Bible tells us that we wrestle not against flesh and blood. God is the righteous Judge, and vengeance belongs to Him. Our prayers can ask God for protection, justice, deliverance and for evil plans to fail without allowing hatred for another human being to take possession of our hearts. This is a challenging subject, but Eternal Words is about bringing Scripture to life—not simply to make us comfortable, but to allow the Word of God to correct us, challenge us and shape the way we live. If I would not want God to answer somebody else’s prayer for my destruction, should I be so quick to ask Him for theirs? #EternalWords #ChristianPodcast #BibleTeaching #Christianity #Prayer #PowerOfPrayer #PrayingForEnemies #LoveYourEnemies #SpiritualWarfare #BiblicalTruth #BibleStudy #JesusChrist #ChristianLiving #Faith #Forgiveness #GodsJustice #VengeanceBelongsToGod #PrayerLife #ChristianTeaching #Scripture #WordOfGod #DavidAndAhithophel #LordPrayer #Romans12 #Ephesians6

“Hell Is Real — But We Should Never Be Happy Anyone Goes There

Hell is real. But should Christians ever speak about someone going there with joy or satisfaction? In this episode of Eternal Words, we reflect on a difficult but important truth: hell is real, judgment is real, but God takes no pleasure in the destruction of the wicked. His desire is that people turn to Him and live. As Christians, we cannot remove hell from the message simply because it is uncomfortable or unpopular. Jesus Himself warned about judgment. But the way we speak about hell matters. Hell should never become an insult, a threat we enjoy making, or something we speak about with pride and self-righteousness. If God takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, neither should we. We are not people standing above others announcing their destruction. We are people who have received mercy, pointing others towards the same mercy we found in Jesus Christ. So yes, we need to talk about hell. But we should talk about it soberly, compassionately and with the heart of Christ. Because the Christian message is not simply, “Hell is real.” It is also: “Jesus saves.” There is judgment, but there is also mercy. There is a warning, but there is also a way of salvation. And that way is Jesus Christ. May we never become comfortable with the thought of anyone being lost. May we speak the truth in love, pray for those who do not know Christ, examine our own lives, and continually point people towards Jesus. The Lord will help us in Jesus’ name. And may none of us end up in hell, in Jesus’ name. Amen. Scriptures reflected on: Ezekiel 33:11, Matthew 9:36, Matthew 10:28, Matthew 25:46, John 3:16–17, John 5:24, John 14:6, Romans 5:8, Romans 9:2, Ephesians 2, 2 Peter 3:9, Acts 4:12. #HellIsReal #JesusSaves #JesusChrist #Christianity #ChristianPodcast #ChristianMessage #BibleTeaching #BibleStudy #Gospel #Salvation #EternalLife #Judgment #Repentance #GraceOfGod #MercyOfGod #FaithInJesus #ChristianLiving #WordOfGod #EternalWords
