Season 2 | Episode 10: Remaining Rooted While Continuing to Grow

What does it look like to keep growing without leaving behind what Father has already established in you? In the Season 2 finale of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop brings the season full circle with a conversation about continuing to walk with Father as life, responsibilities, assignments, and seasons change. Anchored in Colossians 2:6–7 and supported by John 15:4–5, this episode reminds us that remaining rooted doesn’t mean remaining where we started. Growth involves movement, development, and change—but our continued growth is meant to remain connected to Christ. Throughout Season 2, we’ve explored healing, identity, rest, stewardship, trust, leadership, boundaries, and discernment. In this final conversation, the question becomes: What has actually changed in the way I’m living because of what Father has been teaching me? We’ll explore what happens when formation moves beyond something we understand and begins shaping how we respond, lead, make decisions, handle relationships, and walk through changing circumstances. You’ll also be invited to reflect on three questions: What has Father been teaching me? Where have I begun putting it into practice? What do I need to continue cultivating as I move forward? Because maturity doesn’t mean Father has finished forming us. It means we remain willing to make room for Him to continue His work. And as Season 2 comes to a close, this conversation also opens the door to what’s ahead in Season 3: What happens when Father has done a work in us, but we’re still approaching life as though nothing has changed? The next part of the journey begins with learning what it means to live from wholeness instead of survival—not simply recognizing what Father has brought us through, but allowing what He has established in us to change how we live now. Remaining rooted doesn’t mean remaining where you started. It means continuing to walk with Father wherever He leads you next. The book was the beginning. The conversation continues. Season 2 | Episode 9: Discernment, Distraction, and Direction

A change in direction doesn’t always mean a change in assignment. What happens when multiple opportunities look promising, a door you expected to open closes, or Father leads you somewhere you never anticipated? In this episode of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop explores Acts 16 and the journey of Paul as he encounters closed paths before receiving direction toward Macedonia. His experience reminds us that something can be good, meaningful, and aligned with our gifts without necessarily being where Father is leading us in this season. We’ll explore the difference between information and direction, how competing voices can influence our decisions, and why discernment requires more than recognizing an opportunity. It also requires a willingness to receive an answer we weren't expecting. Samantha revisits a statement she has shared for years: “Your response is everything.” We may not control which doors close, when plans change, or how Father redirects our steps, but we can steward our response. Rather than reacting to every unexpected change, we can remain attentive, surrendered, and responsive to His direction. This week’s conversation invites you to reflect on three important questions: What has Father already made clear? Which voices are carrying the most weight in your decisions? Are you surrendered enough to follow His direction, even when it differs from your original plan? You don't need the entire map to take the next step in obedience. A change in direction doesn’t always mean a change in assignment. The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.

Season 2 | Episode 8: Healthy Boundaries and Healthy Roots

What if healthy boundaries aren’t simply about learning to say no—but about protecting the yeses Father has actually entrusted to you? In Season 2, Episode 8 of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop explores boundaries through the example of Jesus in Mark 1. Even while surrounded by legitimate needs and people looking for Him, Jesus remained clear about where Father was sending Him next. This episode challenges an assumption many compassionate, dependable, and service-minded people carry: just because you can meet a need doesn’t automatically mean that need is your assignment. We explore the difference between capability and responsibility, why someone else’s urgency doesn’t always have to become ours, and how creating space before giving an automatic yes can help us discern what Father is actually asking us to carry. One simple truth anchors this conversation: A boundary protects a yes. Every yes requires something from us—time, attention, energy, focus, and presence. Healthy boundaries help us become intentional about where those things are going so we can remain faithful to what Father has actually placed in our hands. This isn’t about becoming less loving, less generous, or unwilling to sacrifice. It’s about learning to ask: “Father, is this mine?” Because healthy boundaries don’t make us less loving. When submitted to Father, they help us steward our love, responsibility, and availability with wisdom. This week, before your next automatic yes, pause long enough to discern what—and who—Father has actually entrusted to you. The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.

Season 2 | Episode 7: Leadership That Flows From Formation

What is it actually like to be led by you? Leadership isn’t only about what we know, what we build, or how much responsibility we carry. People also experience who we are becoming while we lead. In Season 2, Episode 7 of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop explores leadership that flows from formation through the example of Jesus washing His disciples’ feet in John 13. Jesus knew who He was. He knew where He came from. He knew where He was going. He understood the authority He carried—and from that place of security, He served. This episode invites us to look beyond leadership skills and ask deeper questions about how we carry influence. Are we teachable? Can we receive correction? Do we make room for the voices and gifts of others? Are we developing people who can eventually carry responsibility without depending on us? One central reminder anchors the conversation: People don’t only experience what we know as leaders. They experience who we are becoming. Whether you lead in your home, workplace, church, business, ministry, or community, this episode challenges us to consider not only “Am I becoming a better leader?” but also: “Who am I becoming as I lead?” Because healthy leadership isn’t simply about expanding influence. It’s about allowing Father to continue forming the person entrusted with that influence.   This week, the invitation is simple: “Father, continue forming the person who is doing the leading.”   The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.

Season 2 | Episode 6: Rebuilding Trust With Father

What happens when you still love Father, still believe in Him, and still walk with Him—but there are places where trusting Him has become harder? In this episode of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop explores the deeply personal process of rebuilding trust with Father when His response, timing, or direction doesn’t look like what we expected. Through the story of Mary, Martha, and Lazarus in John 11, we look at what happens when we know Father is able, we know He cares, and yet we still find ourselves facing an outcome we hoped He would prevent. This conversation makes room for the questions we don’t always know how to say out loud: Father, why did You allow this? Why didn’t You answer the way I expected? Can I still trust You when I don’t understand what You’re doing? Rather than treating questions or disappointment as evidence of weak faith, this episode explores what it looks like to bring those places honestly back into relationship with Father. We’ll talk about the difference between trusting Father’s character and trusting Him to produce a particular outcome, why surrender doesn’t require certainty, and how difficult experiences can quietly shape what we have come to believe about Him. One central reminder anchors this conversation: Surrender isn’t believing I know what Father will do. Surrender is trusting who Father is when I don’t know what He will do. Maybe rebuilding trust doesn’t begin with having every question answered. Maybe it begins with becoming willing to bring our unanswered questions back into relationship. This week, you’re invited to bring Father the unpolished version—the questions, disappointment, hurt, and places you still don’t understand—and allow Him to meet you there. The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.

Season 2 | Episode 5: Stewarding Growth Without Losing Alignment

Season 2, Episode 5 — Stewarding Growth Without Losing Alignment What happens when something you prayed for begins to grow—and the way you’ve always carried it no longer works? In this episode of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop explores what it means to steward growth without automatically assuming that growth requires you to personally carry more. Using Acts 6 as a biblical foundation, this conversation looks at how the early church responded when healthy growth exposed limitations in their existing structure. Instead of simply working harder, they paused, evaluated what the season required, empowered others, shared responsibility, and protected the assignments they were specifically called to carry. This episode explores: Why growth can require a new structure The difference between what you’re capable of carrying and what is actually yours to carry Why every good opportunity or legitimate need may not be your assignment How healthy delegation creates space for others to develop Why shared responsibility can strengthen rather than interrupt growth How to recognize when increase has quietly pushed important things to the side Listeners are also invited into a practical reflection centered around three questions: What must remain mine? What can be shared? What no longer belongs to this season? Growth does not always require more of you. Sometimes growth requires a different way of stewarding what has been entrusted to you. If you’re navigating a season of increase, greater responsibility, or changing capacity, this conversation is an invitation to bring it back to Father and ask: What does healthy stewardship look like for where I am now? The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.

Season 2 | Episode 4: When Productivity Becomes Identity

What happens when the role, responsibility, title, or assignment you carry starts becoming part of how you define yourself? In this episode of Back to the Seed Conversations, Samantha Bishop continues the Season Two journey by exploring the difference between identity and assignment. Building on last week’s conversation about learning to rest without losing identity, this episode goes one layer deeper: not just asking whether we can slow down, but whether we can remain secure when the thing we are known for changes. Through the story of Jesus’ baptism in Matthew 3 and Paul’s words in 1 Corinthians 3, this conversation explores the importance of receiving identity from the Father before stepping into assignment, and learning to steward what He has entrusted to us without allowing the role itself to define who we are. In this episode, we talk about: Why identity must come before assignment How roles, gifts, titles, and responsibilities can become too closely tied to self-worth The difference between stewardship and ownership Why transitions often reveal where identity has become attached What it means to faithfully plant and water while trusting God with the growth How to release an assignment without feeling like you have lost yourself The central reminder is simple: Your assignment can change without your identity changing. Titles change. Seasons change. Responsibilities shift. Opportunities open and close. But who you are in relationship with the Father remains. The book was the beginning. The conversation continues.
