    Mystery Jets | Eel Pie Challenge Job Interview

    Blaine Harrison is next to attempt to join the indie supergroup - will he have it what it takes?Our toughest and least ethical interview rounds yet - we unleash Eel or Reveal, a game seeing Blaine answer challenging questions or eat slippery gooey eel. Why?! Well he grew up on Eel Pie Island, a part of British music history. His band Mystery Jets formed there and went on to unleash indie anthems such as Two Doors Down and Young Love.We talk Yoko Ono, being in a band with your dad, longevity in indie, Henry VIII and hooking up with fans. A great episode.. Also the first time we get TWO band members to interview at some point.     Josh Weller | The Music Biz Sceptic

    The Bible gave us David vs Goliath, well Instagram has birthed on to us Josh Weller vs The Music Industry, and Josh is our guest this week. Adam & Alex put Josh through a job interview to see if he has what it takes to earn a place in the Indie Supergroup…but this time will Josh even want it?! If you’ve ever wondered what happens when you give a 23 year old musician £60k, we’ve got you covered. Plus male camel toes, getting cornered by A&R men, and why Bob Dylan’s sound man was nearly in tears. Put on your oven gloves, cos there’s some scolding hot takes coming your way.  Josh was the ex-frontman of The Kenneths, and was a certified piece of reupholstered furniture of the London Indie scene, playing with artists such as Paloma Fatih.  But now Josh has called bulls*** on the music biz, and jumped ship to the honest haven and utopia of pleasantness which is The Comedy Industry, where there is not a single issue AT ALL!  And yes he may well be a friend of the management, Adam and Alexandra, but nepotism butters no parsnips in this supergroup - (bribes are accepted ). You’ll recognise Josh for his viral withering sketches where he slags off A&R men and try-hard bands.     EP 3, and it's Chris Peck, frontman of Boy Kill Boy. You'll know them for their iconic indie hit s-s-s-s- SUZIE, but you'll remember them for this interview, probably. We talk the day he knew Limewire had changed the game, the virtues of being a teacher vs getting your bum out for money, vocalist ticks, merchandise prospects, as well as unearthing a terrifying musical fan reply to their music. As always we put the candidate through the steps to see if he has what it takes to join our indie supergroup. The band have live dates coming up, but they're SOLD OUT. Maybe they'll do more. Maybe Chris will be too busy if we hire him for our supergroup. At this stage who knows. After the first two episodes of series one we have had 45,000 downloads, which is UNREAL.
