Episode 20: Love Is Not Evidence | Season 1 Finale

Does someone loving you mean the relationship is good for you? In the Season 1 finale of Now You Notice, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy challenge a sentence many of us have heard: “But they love you.” Love can be real while trust, safety, respect or repair are missing. Someone can love you and still hurt you. You can love someone and still decide the relationship isn't healthy for you. So instead of asking “Do they really love me?”, what happens if we assume they do — 100% — and ask: “Knowing that they love me, is this relationship still okay for me?” Because love matters. But love doesn't answer every question. We also look back at 20 episodes of Now You Notice and close Season 1 together. We'll be back for Season 2. Until then… keep noticing.

Episode 19: The Punishment You Didn't Know You Were Giving Yourself

In Episode 19, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore self-punishment from two different sides. What happens when you've hurt someone, taken responsibility and changed but still can't forgive yourself? And what happens when someone else hurt you, but years later you're still carrying what they gave you? We talk about guilt, accountability, forgiveness, apologies and the difference between putting down the pain and opening the door again. Because what happened matters. But so does this: What is carrying it still costing you today? 🎙️ Now You Notice

Episode 18: The Second Arrow: Why You're Making Your Anxiety Worse.

Why can trying so hard to calm down sometimes make you feel worse? In Episode 18, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore what happens when we fight uncomfortable feelings and accidentally add anxiety, judgment or shame on top of what we're already feeling. We talk about anxiety, anger, sadness, sleep, meditation and the pressure we put on ourselves to feel better immediately. Maybe not every uncomfortable feeling needs to be fixed. Sometimes the question isn't “How do I make this stop?” It's: “How can I be okay while this feeling is here?” 🎙️ Now You Notice

Episode 17: You’ve Talked About This a Hundred Times. Why Hasn’t Anything Changed?

How many times have you talked about the thing you already know needs to change? Maybe you've analysed it. Understood where it came from. Talked about it with friends. Taken it to therapy or coaching. And all of that can matter. But eventually another question appears: What did I actually do? In Episode 17 of Now You Notice, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore the gap between understanding and action — and why talking about something can sometimes feel so much like progress that we don't notice we're still standing in the same place. We look at the stories we rehearse before anything has even happened, why change can feel too big to begin, and how one small real action can interrupt a pattern you've understood for years. Because you can understand the wall. You still have to stop walking into it. 🎙️ You’ve Talked About This a Hundred Times. Why Hasn’t Anything Changed?

Episode 16: You Can't Wake Someone Who Wants To Keep Sleeping

Who are you still trying to change? Your partner? Your parent? Your child? A friend? Sometimes we keep explaining, helping, recommending, fixing and hoping because we love someone and can see what their life could be. But there's a difficult truth underneath that: You can't do somebody else's growing for them. In Episode 16 of Now You Notice, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore why people aren't always ready to change, why staying inside a painful pattern can still feel safer than stepping into the unknown, and why curiosity may be one of the biggest signs that someone is actually ready. And perhaps the hardest question: Are they asking for your help — or are you trying to solve a problem they haven't decided they have? You can show someone the door. You can love them from the other side. But you cannot make them walk through it. 🎙️ Episode 16: You Can't Wake Someone Who Wants to Keep Sleeping

Episode 15: Love Should Never Cost You Yourself

When does compromise become losing yourself? Nobody wakes up one morning and decides to disappear inside a relationship. It happens slowly. You stop saying what you think. You stop asking for what you need. You make yourself easier for everyone else and harder for yourself. In this episode of Now You Notice, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore what happens when love begins to cost you your identity. They discuss why caring and loving people can lose themselves trying to save relationships, how childhood roles can teach us to keep everyone else happy, why fixing someone else can become a distraction from ourselves, and why the amount you've already sacrificed isn't necessarily a reason to keep sacrificing. And they ask a question that may tell you more than “Should I stay or should I go?”: Am I becoming more myself in this relationship — or less? Because real love shouldn't require one person to disappear so the relationship can survive. 🎙️ Episode 15: Love Shouldn't Cost You Yourself

Episode 14: The Guilt Was Never Yours

Have you ever felt guilty simply because someone else was upset with you? Maybe you said no. Set a boundary. Needed space. Made a decision they didn't like. And even though you hadn't actually done anything wrong... you felt guilty anyway. In this episode, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore the guilt that was never yours—the kind of guilt that can make us feel responsible for other people's moods, disappointment and emotional reactions. They discuss the difference between feeling guilty and actually being guilty, why these patterns can begin in childhood, the difference between guilt and shame, and why caring about someone's feelings doesn't mean becoming responsible for them. Miriam also shares two practical tools for questioning guilt when it appears: Fact. Story. Responsibility. And: Name the offence. What did you actually do? Because sometimes guilt isn't telling you that you've done something wrong. Sometimes it's telling you that you've stopped playing an old role. 🎙️ Episode 14 of Now You Notice: The Guilt Was Never Yours.

Episode 13: What If You're Both Right?

You Don't Have To Choose One Truth Why do we replay arguments over and over in our heads? Because our brain wants certainty. It wants someone to be right. Someone to be wrong. But what if that's the very thing keeping us stuck? In this episode, Miriam Hernandez and Jordan Murphy explore one of the biggest shifts in emotional maturity: learning to hold two realities at the same time. Together they discuss: • Why our brains hate uncertainty.• Why we're so desperate to prove who's right.• How replacing "but" with "and" changes difficult conversations.• Why someone can love you and hurt you.• Why compassion doesn't require self-abandonment.• How holding two truths can bring more peace than finding a winner. Because maybe life isn't asking you to choose one truth. Maybe it's asking you to grow.
