Longevity Loop with Satbir Kahlon

Satbir Kahlon

Most people assume their best years are behind them. They're wrong. Longevity Loop is for those who refuse to slow down and want a smarter way to stay strong, energised, and capable for life. Because at some point, what used to work… stops working. Energy dips. Recovery slows. Progress stalls. And doing more of the same only leads to frustration. After working with hundreds of clients, longevity strategist Satbir Kahlon uncovered one consistent pattern: everyone has a weakest loop, the one area of their health quietly limiting everything else. Each week, Longevity Loop breaks down strength, recovery, metabolism, mindset, and the daily habits that compound over time. Using the PRIME™ framework: P → Performance Loop R → Recovery Loop I → Identity Loop M→ Metabolism Loop E → Environment Loop Every episode gives you a structured way to train smarter, recover better, and build your Second Peak. This isn't about going backwards. It's about unlocking a stronger, sharper, more capable version of yourself. Fix your weakest loop. Move Smarter. Live Longer. New episodes every week.

Who Should You Trust With Your Health?

Everyone online sounds equally certain. Certainty was never the same thing as competence. But online, it's the only one you can actually see. Episode Summary In this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain why health advice has got louder and more confident without becoming more accurate, and how to tell the difference between credentials and genuine expertise. You'll learn the three-question filter to use before trusting any health claim, so you can move smarter and live longer without chasing the next expert, the next protocol, or the next certain voice. In This Episode Why health advice got louder and more confident, not more accurateThe Environment Loop hiding underneath the whole information problem, and why confusion is profitableWhere biohacking earns its reputation, and where it doesn'tThe Expert Trap: why a credential doesn't guarantee the right advice for your specific situationThe three-question filter: the trade-off, whether the advice updates, and what's actually being soldThe Longevity Challenge Next time someone online tells you exactly what to do with total certainty, don't ask "do I trust this person." The Identity Loop: Why Fat Loss and Muscle Gain Feel So Personal

Fat loss or muscle gain. That's the question I get more than almost any other. And it's the wrong question. Episode Summary In this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain why fat loss and muscle gain feel like a permanent identity instead of a temporary strategy, and why that mistake is the reason most people spend years going in circles instead of moving forward. You'll learn the four signals that show which direction your body actually needs and how to change strategy partway through without calling it failure, so you can move smarter and live longer. In This Episode Why fat loss and muscle gain aren't opposing personalities; they're two different strategies your body runs under two different conditionsWhat each direction actually requires, without the internet's absolutist rulesWhen body recomposition is realistic, and when a phased approach wins insteadThe four signals to track: body composition trend, strength trend, training age, and the honest goal underneath the goalThe Goal Label™, and why it keeps people loyal to a strategy long after it's stopped workingThe Longevity Challenge Pick your four signals. Write down where you stand on each, today. Set a date three to four weeks from now, put it in your calendar, and check again. That's the whole system, and it starts with one page in your notes app. Continue the Journey The Performance LoopWhat Longevity Actually Means: Introducing the PRIME™ About Longevity Loop Longevity Loop is a performance longevity podcast that helps people build a stronger body, a sharper mind, and a longer, healthier life by using the PRIME™ framework to find and fix the one loop holding everything else back. The Invisible Decade : When Does Longevity Actually Become Significant?

Here's the problem with your 40s. Nothing is wrong. And that's exactly what makes this decade dangerous. Episode Summary In this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain why your 40s, more than any other decade, quietly shape the arc of your 80s, and why nothing about that process ever feels urgent while it's happening. You'll learn the compound math behind muscle loss, why parenting gets physically harder as your kids get older, and the three unglamorous things that actually move the needle, so you can move smarter and live longer. Why PRIME™ Exists: The Map I Wasn't Trying to Build

You don't have a fitness problem. You have a wrong-loop problem. And until you find the right one, nothing else will hold. Episode SummaryIn this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain where the PRIME™ framework actually came from- not the five loops themselves, but the story underneath them, and the real clients who forced Satbir to see what fitness and diet alone can never measure. You'll learn why this show was never going to be a fitness show, why the order of the five loops isn't arbitrary, and the one thing to walk away with, whether or not you've figured out your own weakest loop yet, to help you move smarter and live longer. In This Episode Where PRIME™ actually came from, and the moment with a client named Elena that started it allWhy this show was never going to be a fitness show, or a diet showFive real client stories, one per loop, behind Identity, Metabolism, Performance, Recovery, and EnvironmentWhy the order of the five loops isn't arbitrary, and where to actually startThe one thing to walk away with, even if you don't know your weakest loop yetThe Longevity Challenge Think back over Elena, David, Brad, Anita, and Sofia's stories, and ask yourself honestly which one felt the most like yours. Design for Default: Why Discipline Is the Wrong Strategy and What to Do Instead

Every time you rely on discipline, you are doing it the hard way. There is a smarter strategy. It is called designing for default, and it changes everything. Episode Summary In this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain why discipline is the wrong default strategy for building lasting health habits, and what to replace it with. This is the practical follow-through on the single most useful idea from the Environment Loop episode. You'll learn how to remove friction from the right behaviours and add friction to the wrong ones, so you can move smarter and live longer without relying on a depleting resource. In This Episode Why discipline is a resource that depletes, and is most unreliable exactly when you need it mostWhat designing for default actually means, and the two moves behind it: remove friction, add frictionThree places to apply it this week: physical, social, and informationYour one action this week: pick one environment layer and change one default before FridayThe Longevity Challenge Pick one environment layer, physical, social, or information. You have the plan. You have the motivation. You have done this before. And still, something keeps pulling you back. It is not discipline. It is not willpower. It is not you. It is your environment, and it is working on you right now. Episode Summary In this episode of the Longevity Loop Podcast, we explain the Environment Loop, the fifth and final loop in the PRIME™ framework, and why it is the loop that is always working on you, even when you are doing nothing else. Protein: The Premium Fuel Your Metabolism Needs

You have been told to eat less your whole life. Nobody told you that eating less of the right thing was costing you the very thing that makes everything else work. Protein is not a supplement strategy. It is the most powerful metabolic lever most people are chronically under-using. And in this Loop Short, we fix that. In this episode, we go deep on protein- why it is the one input your metabolism has been waiting for, the exact numbers the research supports, the fear that has kept people away from it for years, and a single action you can start at your next meal. IN THIS EPISODE: - Why most people who feel stuck with their metabolism are not eating too much. They are chronically under-eating the one macronutrient that changes everything, and that's why supplement marketing and the fear of bulking are the two reasons nobody told them. - What is the protein actually doing inside the Metabolism Loop? The thermic effect of food explained: protein burns twenty to thirty per cent of its own caloric content just in digestion. Carbohydrates burn five to ten per cent. Fat burns zero to three per cent. Every gram of protein you eat is already doing metabolic work before it even reaches your muscles. - Why muscle is metabolic currency and protein is the premium that keeps the policy active. The retirement insurance callback from the Performance Loop and why stopping payment quietly costs you more than you realise. - The exact numbers. The research consensus for active adults sits between 1.6 and 2.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. For a 65-kilogram person, that is 104-143 grams per day. For a 75-kilogram person, 120-165 grams. Most people eating a standard diet are sitting at 60 to 80. The gap is the problem. - Why women are disproportionately under-eating protein, and why men have a different version of the same problem. Many assume they are getting enough when they are not. - The fear of bulking addressed directly. Why building significant muscle mass requires a very specific hormonal environment, a sustained caloric surplus, and years of deliberate effort and why hitting your protein target produces none of those outcomes. What it does produce: functional strength, stable energy, better body composition, and a metabolism that runs properly. - What chronic under-eating of protein actually costs you. Three specific consequences: quiet muscle loss that lowers resting metabolic rate over months and years, slow recovery that disconnects effort from result, and hunger and cravings that look like a willpower problem but are often a protein deficit expressing itself. - How to actually hit the target without overhauling everything overnight. Three steps: anchor every main meal with protein first, know your rough numbers, and increase gradually. The specific gram counts for chicken, eggs, and Greek yoghurt are included. - The Metabolic Bank Account connection. Why every meal that hits your protein target is a direct deposit and why protein is one of the most consistent and accessible deposits available to you. YOUR ONE ACTION THIS WEEK:Calculate your protein target. Take your body weight in kilograms and multiply by 1.6. That is your minimum daily protein target in grams. Look at what you ate yesterday. How close were you? Anchor your next three main meals with a protein source first. Not as an afterthought. First. Do that for seven days and notice what changes in your energy, your cravings, and how you feel after meals. The Metabolism Loop: The Fuel Every Other Loop Depends On

You eat well. You train. Nothing is moving. And somewhere along the way, someone told you your metabolism was just slow. It is not slow. It is uninformed. And that is a completely different problem with a completely different solution. In this episode, we go deep on the Metabolism Loop, the M in the PRIME framework and the one loop that determines what your body actually does with every input you give it. You will walk away with the science of how metabolism really works, four myths that have kept people trapped for decades, the Metabolic Bank Account concept, a protein breakdown with the exact numbers, the hormonal layer most people never address, and a four-dimensional Metabolism Scorecard you can use today. IN THIS EPISODE: Why metabolism is not a speed setting. It is your body's energy management system, the system that decides what your body does with the fuel you give it. And why that framing changes everything. What Basal Metabolic Rate actually is, why it accounts for 60 to 70 per cent of your total daily energy expenditure, and why the biggest lever in your metabolism is not the gym. It is muscle.Four myths dismantled with the full mechanism: why calories in, calories out is dangerously incomplete; why eating less forever is a withdrawal, not a strategy; why detoxes do not reset your metabolism; and why six small meals do not speed anything up.The reframe that millions of people need to hear. Your metabolism is adaptive, not broken. The metabolic slowdown from years of restriction is the body protecting you, not failing you. Change the environment, change the outcome. The Metabolic Bank Account. Sleep is a deposit. Muscle is a deposit. Protein is a deposit. Consistent movement is a deposit. Chronic restriction, poor sleep, and unmanaged stress are withdrawals. Most people are trying to make a large withdrawal from an account they have been quietly overdrawn on for years.Protein and the Metabolism Loop. Why protein has the highest thermic effect of any macronutrient at twenty to thirty per cent, why it is the substrate for muscle repair, why it is the most satiating macronutrient, and what the research consensus actually says about how much you need: 1.6 to 2.2 grams per kilogram of body weight per day. The gap is costing them more than they realise. The truth about carbohydrates and fats. Why insulin is not a villain. Why the carbohydrate-cortisol connection matters for anyone already carrying a high stress load. Why the low-fat era added sugar instead and what that actually cost. Why dietary fat and body fat are not the same thing, and why omega-3 to omega-6 balance is one of the most overlooked metabolic interventions available.Hormones and the Metabolism Loop. Why cortisol is a metabolic condition, not just a stress response. How oestrogen and progesterone shifts in perimenopause change fat distribution and sleep quality. Why leptin and ghrelin are the hunger hormones running your food decisions without your awareness and why sleep deprivation makes both worse simultaneously. What actually moves the needle. Muscle mass, sleep, NEAT, protein adequacy, and stress management with the specific mechanisms and numbers behind each one.The Identity Crossover. Why the story you carry about your body determines the inputs you give it. Why "I am someone whose metabolism does not work" is a conclusion drawn from broken strategies applied to a misunderstood system. And why you cannot build a working Metabolism Loop on a foundation of self-punishment.The Metabolism Scorecard. Four dimensions — Protein, Energy Balance, Metabolic Flexibility, and Stress and Cortisol and how to use your lowest score to identify exactly where to focus first.YOUR ONE ACTION THIS WEEK:Complete the Metabolism Scorecard. Score yourself honestly on all four dimensions. Find your lowest score. Pick one action inside that dimension and do it for the next two weeks. One thing. Not four. One. MISSED EPISODE 7?Episode 7 — The Identity Loop: The Loop That Decides If Everything Else Works goes deep on why the story you carry about your body is the root of every pattern that keeps the Metabolism Loop stuck. Everything in today's episode's Identity Crossover section connects directly back to it.Listen here: [LINK TO EPISODE 7] MISSED EPISODE 3?Episode 3 — The Performance Loop: Why Strength Training Is the Key to Longevity is the foundation for everything we covered about muscle as metabolic currency.
