Grace Is Not a Get Out of Hell Free Card, A Relationship with Jesus Changes Everything

What does it truly mean to live under the grace of Jesus Christ? Is grace simply our escape from hell, or is it an invitation into a life completely transformed by Him? In this powerful episode of Backwards, But Redeemed, Pastor Victoria dives into the true meaning of grace and the importance of having a genuine, intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Grace was never intended to be a license to continue living in sin or a “get out of hell free card.” Grace is the undeserved gift of God that brings salvation, calls us to repentance, and empowers us to live a life set apart for Him. There is a difference between simply knowing about Jesus and truly knowing Him. Being a believer is more than claiming Christianity, attending church, or saying a prayer. It is about surrendering our hearts, walking in obedience, and allowing the love and grace of Jesus to transform us from the inside out. We are not saved by our works, but genuine faith produces a changed life. Grace doesn't give us permission to remain the same; it gives us the power to become who God created us to be. Grace is free, but it was never cheap. Jesus paid the price, not just to rescue us from hell, but to bring us into relationship with the Father. Tune in as Pastor Victoria challenges us to move beyond a surface-level Christianity and discover what it truly means to know Jesus, walk in His grace, and live as someone who has been redeemed. God Can Handle Your Honesty, A Real Relationship with the Father

What do you do when frustration sets in, when you're angry, disappointed, or simply don't understand why God hasn't moved? Here's the truth: GOD CAN HANDLE YOUR HONESTY! In this powerful and heartfelt episode of Backwards, But Redeemed, Pastor Victoria dives into what it truly means to have an authentic, intimate relationship with our Heavenly Father. So often, we feel like we have to approach God with the right words, the right attitude, and the perfect prayers. But God isn't looking for a performance. He's looking for a relationship! He already knows your heart. He knows your frustrations, your disappointments, your questions, and even your anger. And He's big enough to handle every bit of it. We have relationships here on earth where we express our feelings, wrestle through disagreements, and have difficult conversations. So why do we sometimes believe we can't have that same level of honesty and intimacy with the One who created us? Pastor Victoria reminds us that prayer isn't just about asking God to move. Prayer is communication. Prayer is intimacy. Prayer is relationship. Even when God doesn't answer the way we expected, even when the waiting hurts, and even when we don't understand His timing, we can still come boldly before our Father. You don't have to hide your feelings from a God who already knows your heart. It's time to move beyond religious routines and discover what it means to truly KNOW the Father, trust His heart, and walk in a genuine relationship with the One who has the power and authority to transform your life. Stop performing. Start communicating. Get real with God. Who Does God Say You Are? Identity Beyond Pain, Sin & Shame

What if the voices that shaped how you see yourself were never telling you the truth? In this episode of Backwards but Redeemed, Pastor Victoria speaks straight to the heart about identity—who God says you truly are. Pain may have marked your story. Sin may have left regret. Shame may have tried to rename you. People may have spoken words over you that made you feel rejected, worthless, broken, unwanted, or unlovable. But none of those things have the authority to define you. God does. This conversation is about learning to separate what happened to you, what you have done, and what others have said from the truth of what your Heavenly Father says about you. You are not defined by your worst moment. You are not the name someone else called you. You are not your past. You are not your shame. You are deeply loved by God. You were created intentionally. And through Christ, redemption gives you a new identity and a new way to see yourself. Pastor Victoria challenges listeners to stop asking, “Who have people told me I am?” and begin asking the question that changes everything: “God, who do You say I am?” When we discover our identity through His Word instead of through wounds, opinions, failures, or circumstances, shame begins to lose its grip and we can finally walk in the freedom of being who He created us to be. Your story may have gone backwards. Your life may not look like you imagined. But God is still redeeming it—and He still calls you His. Support the show

Before “I Do” Biblical Dating, Courtship & Covenant Marriage

What does it actually look like to pursue a relationship God’s way? In a culture where dating is often driven by attraction, emotion, convenience, physical chemistry, and personal fulfillment, Scripture calls believers to something deeper: intentionality, purity, wisdom, accountability, sacrifice, and covenant. In this special collaboration episode between Backwards but Redeemed and Kingdom Authority, Pastor Aaron and Pastor Victoria sit down for an open, honest, and biblically grounded conversation about dating, courtship, marriage, and what it means to build a relationship with Jesus Christ at the center. This is not simply a conversation about finding the “right person.” It is about becoming the kind of man or woman who is spiritually mature enough to recognize, steward, and protect a godly relationship. Pastor Aaron and Pastor Victoria discuss the difference between modern dating culture and biblical intentionality, what healthy courtship can look like, why believers should not ignore spiritual compatibility, and why marriage must be viewed as more than romance. Marriage is covenant. It is two people choosing to submit their lives, desires, plans, and future to God while learning to serve, forgive, sacrifice, communicate, grow, and walk together in obedience to Christ. This episode also confronts some of the difficult questions Christians face in relationships today. How do you know whether someone is truly pursuing God or simply saying the right things? What does being equally yoked actually mean? How important are boundaries before marriage? What role should pastors, parents, mentors, and spiritual community have in a relationship? How do you distinguish between red flags and areas where someone simply needs grace and growth? What should a man be looking for in a wife? What should a woman be looking for in a husband? And how do you know when a relationship is pulling you closer to Jesus rather than slowly pulling you away from Him? Pastor Aaron and Pastor Victoria also speak into the importance of identity before relationship. A spouse cannot become your savior. Marriage cannot heal every insecurity. Another person cannot carry the responsibility of giving you identity, purpose, wholeness, or worth. Those things must first be rooted in Christ. Healthy biblical relationships are built by two people who are learning to follow Jesus individually and then choosing to follow Him together. This conversation challenges the idea that dating is merely about finding someone who makes you happy. Instead, believers should ask deeper questions: Can we serve God together? Can we pray together? Can we build together? Can we endure hardship together? Can we challenge one another toward holiness? Can we raise a family with biblical conviction? Can we submit our relationship to the Lord even when obedience is uncomfortable? Because marriage is not simply about finding someone you can live with. It is about covenanting with someone you are willing to die to yourself for. The episode also dives into purity, communication, emotional maturity, leadership, submission, accountability, expectations, forgiveness, conflict, and the reality that strong marriages are not accidentally created. They are intentionally built. Dating should have direction. Courtship should have wisdom. Marriage should have covenant. And every stage should have Christ at the center. Whether you are single and waiting, currently dating, engaged, newly married, have been married for decades, or are raising sons and daughters who will eventually navigate relationships of their own, this conversation offers biblical principles that can help bring clarity in an area where culture has created tremendous confusion. The world often says, “Follow your heart.” Scripture teaches us to follow Christ. The world says, “Find someone who completes you.” The Gospel teaches us that our completeness is found in Jesus. The world says, “If it stops making you happy, walk away.” Covenant says, “We honor God, fight for unity, forgive, grow, and remain faithful.” Relationships were never meant to replace our relationship with God. They were meant to reflect Him. Before you date, know who you are. Before you pursue someone, know what you are pursuing. Before you choose a spouse, know what covenant requires. And before you say “I do,” make sure Jesus is the foundation beneath everything you are building. Because chemistry can start a relationship. Attraction can draw two people together. Feelings can be powerful. But only a foundation built on Christ can withstand the storms that inevitably come. This is biblical dating. This is intentional courtship. This is covenant marriage. And this is what it looks like when relationships are surrendered to the Kingdom of God. Support the show

WHY SALVATION? Because Without Jesus, We Are Still Lost

Over the last several episodes of Backwards but Redeemed, Pastor Victoria has been laying a foundation. We have talked about who God truly is. We have talked about who Jesus really is—not the watered-down version culture has created, but the Son of God, the Messiah, the Savior, the King. We have talked about the Holy Spirit—not as an emotion, an experience, or an accessory to Christianity, but as the Spirit of the living God who empowers, convicts, leads, transforms, and dwells within believers. But all of that brings us to one unavoidable question: Why salvation? If God is holy, what does that mean for sinful humanity? If Jesus is truly the Son of God, why did He have to come? Why the cross? Why the blood? Why repentance? Why surrender? Why must we be born again? In this episode of Backwards but Redeemed, Pastor Victoria takes the conversation straight to the heart of the Gospel. Because mankind did not simply need encouragement. We needed rescue. We did not simply need better morals. We needed redemption. We did not need religion added to our lives. We needed our lives completely transformed. We were not merely wounded. Scripture says we were dead in sin. And dead people do not need self-improvement. They need resurrection. This episode confronts the reality of sin, the holiness of God, the necessity of the cross, and the incredible mercy revealed through Jesus Christ. Jesus did not come simply to make people nicer. He came to save the lost. He came to reconcile humanity back to the Father. He came to break the power of sin. He came to destroy the works of the devil. He came to take upon Himself what we could never overcome on our own. The cross was not merely an example of love. It was the place where the debt of sin was paid. The blood was not religious symbolism. It was the price of redemption. The resurrection was not simply the ending of the story. It was the declaration that death had been defeated and new life was now available through Jesus Christ. And salvation is far deeper than checking a box that says “Christian.” It is more than church attendance. More than knowing Bible verses. More than growing up around Christianity. More than repeating words without surrender. Salvation calls us to repentance. Salvation calls us out of darkness. Salvation calls us to die to the old life. Salvation brings us into covenant with Jesus Christ. Salvation makes the lost found, the guilty forgiven, the bound free, the spiritually dead alive, and the orphan a son or daughter of God. That is what this episode is about. Pastor Victoria brings the listener back to the foundation: before we can understand how to live for Jesus, walk in the Holy Spirit, operate in authority, or understand our identity in Christ, we first have to understand what we were saved from, who saved us, and what we have been saved into. Backwards but Redeemed exists to challenge the version of Christianity that culture has softened, reshaped, and made comfortable. This conversation is no different. This episode strips salvation back down to the biblical Gospel. No performance. No religious mask. No watered-down message. Just the truth that every person has sinned, every person needs redemption, and Jesus Christ is the only One who can save. “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” — Romans 3:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” — Romans 6:23 “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.” — Luke 19:10 This is not behavior modification. This is transformation. This is not religion. This is reconciliation. This is not simply becoming a better person. This is becoming a new creation. This is the Gospel. This is redemption. This is why Jesus came. And this is why salvation changes everything. Support the show
