Robyn Richford: 4.30am glamour, breakfast radio hosting, and finding your style as a presenter

How do you manage to look fabulous when your alarm goes off at 4.30am? And which celebrity’s wardrobe would you raid if you had the chance? This week on Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice is joined by Robyn Richford, Capital Breakfast presenter, for a proper girlie chat packed with fashion inspiration, showbiz sparkle and some very relatable style moments. Robyn might be up before the sun to get on air, but that doesn’t mean sacrificing the glam. She chats about finding her own signature style as a presenter, the realities of red-carpet dressing, and why renting a look or finding a cheeky bargain on Vinted can be just as satisfying as buying something new. The pair swap wedding dress ideas (why the need for two dresses though?!), revisit Robyn’s favourite ever outfit from the Capital Summertime Ball, and reveal the celebrity wardrobes they’d steal in a heartbeat. There’s also one surprising name who managed to leave Robyn starstruck and we need to know who it is! In the wide-ranging chat into Robyn's journey to becoming a top breakfast radio presenter, she reflects on her early days in children’s television and how her career has influenced her evolving sense of style. Meanwhile, Alice and Robyn discover a shared nostalgia for Jack Wills tartan dresses, taking them straight back to their time in London and why Scottish identity hits harder away from home. From dream wedding dresses to red-carpet looks and the ultimate fashion purchase with 'big girl money', this is a joyful conversation about personal style, confidence and having fun with what you wear. In this episode: Getting glam for at 4.30am for Capital Breakfast Finding your signature style as a presenter Red-carpet dressing and Robyn’s favourite ever Summertime Ball look Renting outfits and hunting for Vinted bargains Wedding dress dreams The celebrity wardrobes they’d love to steal Robyn’s unexpected starstruck moment Her journey from children’s television to Capital Breakfast Jack Wills tartan dresses and Scottish fashion nostalgia The trends and fashion treats that Alice and Robyn love and loathe   Listen to Capital Breakfast (Scotland) with Fat Brestovci and Robyn Richford, weekdays from 6am - 10am. Katherine Aly: Viral TikTok sounds, 'Male Fatigue Pop', and why her music sounds orange

Can music really sound orange? Well, when you listen to indie pop artist Katherine Aly, you'll hear that it can! Originally from Greece, Katherine moved to Edinburgh to pursue her music career, building a distinctive sound she describes as “male fatigue pop”: 00s girlband energy meets 2026 hyperpop, with punchy lyrics and plenty of attitude. Katherine’s music has already found a huge online audience, with her viral track “Freud” racking up more than 2 million views on TikTok. But there’s much more to her story than a viral moment. She talks to Alice about the inspiration behind her music, her ambitions as an artist and the experiences of girlhood and relationships that feed into her lyrics. And then there’s the fashion. Katherine’s unmistakable all-orange aesthetic has become part of her identity as an artist, with designer Maria Karydi of the brand Vierna.D helping bring the vision to life. Naturally, when two orange-loving women get into a conversation about music, clothes and creative identity, Alice and Katherine are fashion besties by the end of the episode! They also get into Katherine’s 2:22 EP and upcoming 2:22 Pt. 2, her upcoming headline London show, and the slightly surreal experience of seeing her own performance photos plastered across the side of an Edinburgh tram... where, naturally, they were also visible to several of her exes. Revenge is sweet! This is a conversation about ambition, creativity, girlhood, finding your visual identity as an artist, and the undeniable power of the colour orange. In this episode: Growing up in Greece and moving to Edinburgh Finding her sound and defining “male fatigue pop” The viral success of “Freud” 00s girlbands meets 2026 hyperpop The inspiration behind Katherine’s lyrics Girlhood, relationships and creative ambition Building an all-orange artist identity The 2:22 EP and 2:22 Pt. 2 Katherine’s upcoming headline London show Getting revenge with her photos on the side of an Edinburgh tram Fashion, music and finding your own visual language Why everything sounds better in orange Follow Katherine Aly on Instagram and TikTok. Zander Murray: Football, Coming Out & Becoming Your Authentic Self

What does it mean to become comfortable with who you are, and confident enough to show it? This week on Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice is joined by Scottish footballer, activist and entrepreneur Zander Murray for a warm, honest and occasionally chaotic conversation about identity, representation, confidence and finding your own style. Zander made history as the first openly gay male footballer in Scotland, and has become a prominent voice for LGBTQ+ representation in football. He talks about growing up in the East End of Glasgow, rarely seeing gay representation in the media that felt like him, and the experience of coming out publicly, including the unexpected journey that took him onto Lorraine. The conversation also explores the impact of Zander’s activism and why visibility in football still matters. He shares how those experiences have shaped his work today, including RIKA, his new training venture focused on helping people develop both physically and mentally while becoming the most authentic version of themselves. And, naturally, we get into the clothes. From red carpet dressing and his first Pride outfit to the highs and lows of buying and selling on Vinted, Zander reveals how fashion has become another way of expressing who he is. In this episode: Growing up gay in Glasgow Representation and finding people who feel like you Zander’s coming out story and appearing on Lorraine Being an openly gay footballer in Scotland The continuing importance of LGBTQ+ visibility in sport RIKA and becoming your most authentic self Red carpet dressing and Zander’s favourite fashion moments His first Pride outfit The world of buying and selling clothes on Vinted Identity, confidence and self-expression   Follow Zander Murray and RIKA on Instagram.   Who Are You (Wearing?) is the fashion podcast that's not really about clothes. Rosie Jones: Taskmaster, her jumpsuit 'comedy uniform', and Edinburgh Fringe

What happens when you stop dressing to blend in and start dressing entirely for yourself? In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by comedian, author and BAFTA-nominated actor Rosie Jones. Known for Taskmaster, The Last Leg, Live at the Apollo, Out of Order and Pushers, Rosie is also the proud owner of around 50 jumpsuits (and counting!) What begins with a mutual appreciation of colourful fashion becomes a much bigger conversation about confidence, identity and being seen. Rosie talks about how her disability and sexuality have influenced her relationship with fashion, and the journey from wearing "cute dresses" to blend in to embracing bold, unapologetic looks, including latex on the cover of Gay Times and at the TV BAFTAs. Rosie and Alice also get into the particular pressures female comedians face around their appearance, and what it means to be judged not just on your comedy, but on how you look while doing it. There's plenty of Taskmaster chat too, including the element of her outfit that was deemed too much for television, before Rosie talks about her new Edinburgh Fringe show, I Can't Tell What She's Saying, and why the Fringe has become one of her favourite places in the world. Funny, frank and full of fashion chat, this is a conversation about finding your style, finding your confidence and deciding that being yourself is much more fun than trying to fit in. In this episode: Why Rosie loves jumpsuits How disability and sexuality have shaped her style Going from "cute dresses" to latex at the TV BAFTAs The pressure on female comedians to look a certain way The Taskmaster outfit that was too controversial for TV Life as a comedian, actor, author and television personality Why Edinburgh Fringe is so special to Rosie Her new show, I Can't Tell What She's Saying See Rosie at the Fringe Rosie Jones: I Can't Tell What She's Saying 4pm | Cabaret Bar, Pleasance Courtyard Throughout the Edinburgh Fringe About the podcast Who Are You (Wearing?) is the fashion podcast that's not really about clothes. Darren Brownlie: River City, 90s fashion memories, and bringing Crocodile Rock to theEdinburgh Fringe

Can the clothes we wore growing up tell the story of who we became? In this episode of Who Are You (Wearing?), Alice Cruickshank is joined by actor Darren Brownlie, best known for playing Mikey Duffy in River City and as a familiar face in Glasgow's King's Theatre, Glasgow pantomime. Darren is now starring in Crocodile Rock at the Edinburgh Fringe: a moving and entertaining one-man play with music exploring what it was like growing up gay on a Scottish island in the 1990s before having life changed forever by a visiting drag queen. Using fashion as a starting point, Darren and Alice take a nostalgic trip through 90s and 00s style, debating the worst shoes ever made, reminiscing about school fashion trends and revisiting the nicknames Darren collected over the years, from "Darren Broon-shoes" at school to "DD" (Double Denim) today. They then dive into Scottish soap River City, and changing times now the show has been cancelled. Darren shares the story of how he landed the role of Mikey Duffy, and how as an actor the character and your sense of self are always linked. The conversation then turns to Crocodile Rock and the deeply personal experiences that helped shape the production, from Darren as well as the writer Andy McGregor. Darren reflects on growing up gay in Paisley during the era of Section 28, how those memories influenced the play, and why he believes optimism has carried him through every stage of his life and career. They also chat about the joy of pantomime, Darren's favourite costumes over the years, and why he's more than happy to do the weekly shop in sequins and a pussybow blouse if the occasion calls for it. Funny, thoughtful and deeply heartfelt, this episode is about identity, resilience, nostalgia and finding the confidence to wear exactly what feels like you.
