    What Are You Waiting For?

What are you waiting for? Seriously. The right time? More money? Less uncertainty? Permission? A sign? Someone—or something—to finally make it all feel safe enough? This week, Michele came into our conversation with a question we couldn't leave alone. Because sometimes waiting is wisdom. But sometimes... waiting is just fear wearing a really convincing disguise. So we asked the I Ching: What do you think you're waiting for—and is it truly what you want, or something you've been conditioned to believe you need in order to be happy? And then: If you set those filters aside, what would you choose to do now? That's where we're going to leave you. Because the cards that came out took this somewhere neither of us expected—and somehow brought us right back to the conversations we've been having about attention, change, trust, identity and what it means to actually live your life rather than continually preparing for it. If there's something you've been saying you'll do when... When things settle down. When you're ready. When you know more. When circumstances change. When you're less afraid. Come mash it up with us. You may discover that the most interesting question isn't what you're waiting for. It's who taught you that you had to wait? From the Vault: What If the Change We're Waiting For Starts Within?

What if the change we're waiting for isn't coming for us? What if it's coming through us? We pulled this conversation from the I Ching Mashup vault, recorded back in January 2026—before this podcast had even officially become a podcast. And listening to it now feels a little... interesting. At the time, Michele and Lisa were noticing something. So many traditions, teachers, cycles and conversations seemed to be pointing toward change. Period 9. The Fire Horse. The Age of Aquarius. Ancient teachings showing up in surprisingly modern ways. But we kept coming back to a bigger question: Are we waiting for the world to change—or are we being asked to change the way we meet the world? So we brought this to the I Ching: What can we do to safely integrate, accept and allow the incoming energy and changes so that we can experience self-actualization rather than self-imposed purgatory? I Ching Mashup with Michele and… Yes. We actually said self-imposed purgatory. And then we pulled the cards. We're going to leave the rest there. Because listening to this conversation nine months later, knowing everything that has unfolded since we recorded it, is part of what makes this one so fascinating. Maybe change isn't asking us to predict what's coming. Maybe the more interesting question is: Who will you be when it gets here? Come into the vault and mash it up with us. A Note From Lisa & MicheleThis episode was originally recorded on January 7, 2026, before the official launch of I Ching Mashup. We're opening our vault from time to time to share conversations that feel especially relevant to where we are now. Win a Different Prize: Turning Your Attention Toward the Life You Actually Want

What if you've gotten really, really good at winning a prize you don't even want? You know the one. You get everything done. You handle the problem. You answer the call. You figure it out. You show up. You keep going. And your grand prize? You're exhausted. This week, Michele and Lisa realized we've been asking the wrong question. Maybe it isn't How do I get everything done? Maybe it's: Why am I still playing a game where overwork is the prize? So we brought something a little different to the I Ching: How are we being guided to redirect our focus, trust support, and free our time and energy to actually live the spiritual path we're trying so hard to create? And this one went places. Because what if "turn the other cheek" has less to do with what you tolerate—and more to do with what you refuse to keep feeding with your attention? What if the thing that looks like it's in your way isn't actually asking you to push harder? And what if some of what you've been carrying was never meant to be carried alone? We're not telling you what the I Ching said. But we will tell you this: We're ready to win a different prize. If you are too, come mash it up with us. Join the I Ching Mashup CircleWe’re opening the circle! Taking Back Your Agency: What If Busy Isn't Who You Are?

What if the life you're trying so hard to manage isn't asking you to try harder? What if some of the things you've accepted as just the way life is… aren't? We say we're busy. We say we don't have time. We say, This is what I have to do. But do we? And here's where it gets interesting: At what point does a pattern become an identity? This week, Michele and Lisa welcome Deb DermyerLamb into the mashup. Deb has had a relationship with the I Ching since the late 1980s—but she's never experienced it quite like this. Three women. Three ways of consulting the I Ching. One question: How are our collective perceptions creating the trend of busyness and burnout—and what might shift if we remembered our own agency? We thought we were talking about being busy. We weren't. The conversation opened into something much bigger about the lives we create, the roles we inherit, what we believe we have to carry—and the subtle difference between living by choice and living by default. There were a few moments when all three of us just stopped. Because when three different readings begin speaking to one another, you pay attention. If you've been feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, over-responsible—or simply wondering why a life that looks perfectly fine doesn't always feel like you—this one may have found you for a reason. We won't tell you what the I Ching said. But we'll leave you with the question that stayed with us: How much of your life are you actually choosing? Come mash it up with us. About Deb DermyerLambDeb DermyerLamb is a Feng Shui consultant in the Kansas City, Missouri area and a leader with the International Feng Shui Guild. If Shadow Can Seem Real, Why Not Light?

What if we've gotten something completely backward? Why can one frightening thought hijack an entire afternoon, while possibility needs a five-year plan, three signs from the universe, and preferably a notarized letter before we'll believe it? And when did we decide fear was the more reliable narrator? Michele brought a deceptively simple question into this week's I Ching Mashup: If shadow can seem real, why not light? So we took it to the I Ching: When fear, limitation, and shadow feel more real than possibility, what helps us discern what is actually true—and how can we turn our attention toward light without denying what we're experiencing? And then things got weird. A song neither of us had thought about in years suddenly entered the conversation. We looked it up. Read what it was actually saying. Got goosebumps. Then we pulled the cards. And somehow Clint Eastwood became a spiritual teacher. We're not going to tell you what the I Ching said. Because this one is better experienced with us. If life has felt heavy lately—or you've noticed how easy it is to believe what could go wrong while questioning everything that could go right—come mash it up with us. Maybe the question isn't how to get rid of the darkness. Maybe it's: What haven't we been able to see because we've been staring at it? When Opportunity Arrives: Can You Hold What You've Asked For?

What if getting what you've been asking for isn't the end of the manifestation story? What if it's actually the beginning? In our last conversation, we explored the opportunities we might be missing—the possibilities that arrive differently than expected and are easy to overlook when we're too attached to how we think life should unfold. This week on I Ching Mashup, another question began tugging at us: What happens when the opportunity actually arrives? We've all asked for more at some point. More abundance. More love. More clients. More visibility. More freedom. More connection. More purpose. But have we created the capacity to actually hold what we're asking for? And what happens when growth arrives faster, messier, or in a completely different form than we imagined? So we bring a bigger question to the I Ching: What is the present energetic pattern affecting our collective—and what should we cultivate now to support long-term stability, growth, and well-being? From there, we let the conversation wander—as we always do. We explore the difference between expansion and sustainability, why our instinct to control the outcome can sometimes interfere with what we're trying to create, and what it means to build a life sturdy enough for the next version of ourselves. We also bring the conversation home—literally—through Feng Shui, looking at how our environments can support greater stability, relationships, self-knowledge, and the capacity to receive. This episode is for you if things are beginning to move. If new people are appearing. If opportunities are opening. If something you've been asking for finally seems to be finding its way toward you. Or even if you can simply sense that something is changing, but you don't quite know what it is yet. Because maybe the question isn't only: How do I get what I want? Maybe there's another question waiting underneath it: Who do I need to become—and what do I need to create around me—to hold it when it arrives? Come mash it up with us. We asked the I Ching. And once again, the answer wasn't quite what we expected. Would you recognize it if it didn't look anything like you expected? We are grateful you joined us!✨ Explore ritual downloads, Feng Shui resources, and more at: Shop | Cloud 9 Feng ShuiFeng Shui Summit from the Intl Feng Shui Guild May 15+16, 2026Feng Shui services Ohio Subscribe to I Ching Mashup for conversations exploring environment, timing, change, and conscious living through the lens of ancient wisdom and modern life.

The Opportunities You Might Be Missing: Seeing What’s Already Trying to Find You

What if the opportunity you've been asking for is already here… and you almost missed it because it didn't arrive the way you expected? After several weeks of some pretty deep conversations, we were ready for a little fun. There was a lot moving around us—literally. Storms had just swept through Michele's area, trees were down, debris was everywhere, and we found ourselves talking about what happens after the storm. When something has been cleared away, what becomes visible that we couldn't see before? That led us to this week's I Ching question: How can we recognize the opportunities coming into our lives—and discern which ones are actually aligned with our personal path and higher selves? We thought we were asking a fairly light question. The I Ching had other ideas. Almost immediately, the reading began mirroring what was happening around us in ways that made us laugh: thunderstorms, clearing debris, wandering into unfamiliar territory, helpful people, unexpected paths—and, naturally, that recurring instruction we apparently need to hear again and again: Be still. But this time, there was another layer. What if the opportunity that's right for you doesn't look like the opportunity you imagined? What if it arrives through someone unexpected? What if the unfamiliar path is actually the aligned one? And what might you need to clear—from your home, your relationships, your expectations, or even your own thinking—before you can see what's trying to come in? We wander through Feng Shui, the front of the Bagua, helpful people, intuition, inner truth, clearing physical and energetic debris, and the curious relationship between being visible and being able to see what's becoming visible to you. Along the way, one phrase emerged that we think we'll be sitting with for a while: Unfamiliar doesn't mean misaligned. So if you've been asking for something new, waiting for a sign, or wondering why the next step hasn't appeared yet, come mash it up with us. Because maybe it has. The more interesting question might be: Would you recognize it if it didn't look anything like you expected? We are grateful you joined us!✨ Explore ritual downloads, Feng Shui resources, and more at: Shop | Cloud 9 Feng ShuiFeng Shui Summit from the Intl Feng Shui Guild May 15+16, 2026Feng Shui services OhioFREE Generation Regeneration ONLINE GLOBAL Summit mentioned CLICK HERE Subscribe to I Ching Mashup for conversations exploring environment, timing, change, and conscious living through the lens of ancient wisdom and modern life.

Breaking Free from the Busyness Trap

What if the greatest obstacle to creating the life you want isn't a lack of time… …but the constant pressure to stay busy? In this episode of I Ching Mashup, Michele and Lisa realize they're both caught in the same pattern. Even though we teach about alignment, intention, and creating space for what matters most, we found ourselves pulled into the very busyness we encourage others to question. So we turned to the I Ching and asked: What needs our attention to transform chronic busyness into sustainable presence, and what small shift can help us move forward with greater clarity, ease, and joy? The answers were both humbling and reassuring. Rather than asking us to do more, the I Ching reminds us that true increase comes from creating space. Healthy boundaries, disciplined attention, and intentional pauses aren't distractions from our purpose—they're what make it possible to live it. Together, we explore: ✨ Why busyness has become a cultural habit instead of a necessity ✨ The surprising difference between productivity and presence ✨ How healthy boundaries create more opportunity, not less ✨ Why receiving is just as important as doing ✨ Recognizing when success begins to crowd out what matters most ✨ Repairing the small energy leaks that quietly drain our lives If you've ever reached the end of the day wondering how you were so busy while feeling disconnected from what matters most, this conversation is for you. Sometimes creating your best life doesn't begin by adding something new. Sometimes it begins by creating enough space to receive what's already trying to find you.
