When Choosing Yourself Means Being Disliked.

What happens when doing what you believe is right for your life means that people may not understand you, agree with you, or even like you? Sometimes choosing yourself means making decisions that other people don't understand. You may be criticized, laughed at, talked about, or pushed away. And when that happens, it can be tempting to question yourself simply because the people around you don't see what you see. But what if being misunderstood doesn't mean you're making the wrong choice? In this episode of The Kelly Ifokwe Podcast, I’m talking about choosing yourself, being willing to be disliked, and continuing to move even when the people around you don't understand your decisions. I talk about the importance of not abandoning yourself just to remain accepted, the courage it takes to keep going when nobody is clapping for you, and why the people who were not with you in your desert don't get to determine what happens when you reach your promised land. Sometimes, you have to hold your own hand. Sometimes, you have to keep running. And sometimes, you have to remember that wisdom is not for everybody. People may not see what you see, understand what you understand, or know why you had to make the choices you made. That doesn't mean you have to abandon yourself to make them comfortable. Because your goal isn't to make everyone understand you. Your goal is to know that you tried to do what you believed was right. And when the world stops clapping, you can still clap for yourself and put God at the front of the table. So if people are laughing at you, criticizing you, or simply don't understand the path you're taking, maybe you don't need to stop. Maybe it's time to run. Welcome to The Kelly Ifokwe Podcast.

    The Desire to Be Seen.

What does it really mean to want to be seen? To be seen, understood, acknowledged, and valued by the people around us is something deeply human. We want people to notice who we are, what we carry, what we create, and sometimes, simply to know that we are here. But what happens when being seen by other people becomes connected to how valuable we feel? In this episode of The Kelly Ifokwe Podcast, I’m talking about the desire to be seen, the need for validation and attention, and what happens when we start measuring our worth by how much other people notice us. Sometimes, growth makes you realize that the people you thought were paying attention to you may not see you the way you see them. And that realization can hurt but it can also bring you back to yourself. We talk about external validation, self-awareness, boundaries, outgrowing friendships, loneliness, privacy, and learning to be okay with not being seen by everyone. Because realizing that someone doesn't see your value the way you hoped they would doesn't mean that you are not valuable. It may simply mean that you have been looking in the wrong place for proof of your worth. ABOUT THIS EPISODE Wanting to be seen isn't something to be ashamed of. It is human. But there is a difference between wanting to be seen and needing other people to see you before you can believe that you matter. As you become more self-aware, you may begin to notice the relationships, friendships, conversations, and environments that no longer align with who you are becoming. You may become more comfortable with silence, privacy, solitude, and your own company. And sometimes, being alone gives you the space to finally ask: Do I actually miss these people or do I miss being seen by them? This is a conversation about learning to stop chasing attention, understanding your own value, creating healthier boundaries, and becoming more open to relationships where you don't have to perform to be valued. Because the goal isn't to stop needing people. The goal is to stop needing everyone to validate your existence. Welcome to The Kelly Ifokwe Podcast.

Do Not Worry | Replace Worry With Praise.

What are you worried about right now? Maybe it’s your future, your finances, your relationships, your purpose, or something you simply cannot control. Worry can become such a loud noise that it distracts us from what is happening right no and even from what God may be trying to show us. But what if you stopped feeding the worry and started replacing it with praise? In this episode, I’m talking about worry, fear, anxiety, and the way they can quietly take control of our minds, emotions, and days. I share some of the ways I’ve learned to respond when worry comes through our words, praise, writing, staying present, being productive, and learning to simply be with God. Sometimes the answer isn't to solve everything immediately. Sometimes, you just need to be present, remember what is already working, thank God for what you have, and trust Him with what you cannot see. If you’ve been carrying a lot in your mind lately, I hope this conversation reminds you that you don’t have to let worry feast on you. Welcome to The Kelly Ifokwe Podcast. ABOUT THIS EPISODE Worry can make us focus so much on what might happen that we miss what is happening right now. It can drain the strength we need to face the very situation we are worried about. In this episode, we explore what it means to take your thoughts captive, speak back to fear, replace worry with praise, and return to the present moment. Because sometimes, before you figure everything out, you simply need to remember: You are here. You are alive.God is still God.And you can just be.
