Breathing Room with Clordene

breathingroompodcast

Breathing Room with Clordene is a podcast for the woman who leads the room and loses herself in the process. If you are building something, carrying something, holding it all together for everyone but running on empty yourself, this is your place to come up for air. Every episode, I take one honest theme from my devotional Breathing Room for My Soul and we sit with it together: burnout, rest, identity, boundaries, calling, and what it actually looks like to build a life without breaking your body to do it. This is not hustle wrapped in Scripture, and it is not soft advice that ignores your ambition. It is faith, work, and room to do both well. Follow the show and each weeks you will get a real conversation, a Scripture that meets you where you are, and one small practice you can carry into your week. Because you were made for more than this pace. Now go build something. Then go rest. Purchase the Devotional on Amazon Breathing Room for My Soul Devotional on Amazon

Men Want In on the Conversation_ Why We Are Really Here (and Who This Is For)

Four episodes in, I wanted to stop and tell you plainly why this show exists and who it is really for. Since we started, men have been reaching out alongside women, all saying a version of the same thing: this emptiness, this running on empty, I feel it too. So this is an honest conversation about the one idea holding this whole show together, the crossing from just surviving to actually living with purpose, and about the loneliness that so often sits underneath the emptiness. Whoever you are, whatever you are building and quietly losing yourself inside of, this is your invitation. You do not have to have it together to belong here. You just have to show up.   In this episode: Why this show exists: from surviving to living with purpose Who it is really for, and why emptiness is not a gendered thing The loneliness of doing it all alone, and why community is a survival strategy, not a luxury Come as you are: the gentlest invitation in Scripture One honest step to take this week   Scripture this episode: "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." — Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." — Matthew 11:28   One line that stayed with me: "I called it independence. It was mostly just loneliness with better branding."   Reflection prompt: Who in your life actually knows the true state of things for you right now? If the honest answer is no one, don’t rush past that. Let it be the thing you take to God this week.

Why Building Something You Believe in Still Leaves You Empty

When everything looked like it was working, I was running on empty. In this episode I share the story behind the show, and behind a season when the work was good, the calling was real, and I still found myself completely depleted. I had been pouring out of a cup that nobody was filling, including me, and calling it faithfulness. I unpack the lie so many of us absorb without ever being taught it directly: that rest is something you earn once the work is finished. The trouble is the work is never finished, so the rest never comes. We keep building, holier and emptier at the same time, mistaking exhaustion for devotion. But being empty is not a spiritual achievement. This episode is about noticing that pattern before it breaks you, and about the truth that quietly sets you free. You don't have to sacrifice your faith to succeed, and you don't have to sacrifice yourself to build something that matters. Sustainable work needs both ambition and rest. This week's breathing room: notice one place where you're running on fumes, and doing it anyway. Don't fix it yet. Just name it. Awareness is where breathing room begins.
