And we welcome you to another episode of the Unlock Your Greek Podcast. Welcome to another episode of our podcast. Today we're going to talk about animals, and more specifically about pets, which, in case you don't know, are the animals we keep at home. And here we see the root 'oikia' – 'katoikidio,' that is, something that is found in the 'oikia,' in our home. I don't know if you remember, but in the previous episode we mentioned that we now have a pet ourselves too, Sevro, a little kitten. He should logically be three months old now. Three months... two months. He's crazy and playful.

Welcome to another episode of our podcast. Today we want to talk about foreign languages, but before we continue with our episode, we want to tell you that the reason we'll be laughing now and then, or the reason you might hear a strange sound now and then, is that we got a two-month-old kitten, so he's really playful right now. He's always playing, always running around our feet, and so on, so you should know he's responsible for the strange sounds. Νέβενα, εσύ σαν καθηγήτρια και σαν φιλόλογος, τι έχεις να μας πεις για αυτό το θέμα; Yes, we have a new member now, and we'll show him in our podcast's video on Patreon too. And now we're going to talk about foreign languages in this episode. Nevena, as a teacher and a philologist, what do you have to tell us about this topic?

Yes, today we'll mostly talk about Greek families, and, as you know, there are a lot of stereotypes about the Greek family, and those expressions you've heard or seen on social media that say a lot about mothers, who – Greek mothers – are very overprotective.

Welcome to another episode of our podcast. Today we're going to talk about festivals and 'panigiria' in Greece, and I think this will be another really interesting topic, but I have to admit I don't actually know that much about panigiria specifically, because I haven't had the chance to go to one yet. Still, I think Greece is famous for its panigiria, and in general they're really well known, and a lot of foreigners come here just for these panigiria, say, in Patra or Xanthi. So, Nevena, are you saying Greece is 'for the panigiria'? There's actually an expression we have: 'you're for the panigiria.'

Here in Greece, after summer, mainly in September or also in August, a lot of panigiria are held in small towns of Greece.
