    Boudoir After Dark 012 - Black, Kink & Healing: The Doctor of Kink is In

    In Episode 12 of Boudoir After Dark, we sit down with Dr. Yulinda Renee Rahman — aka DocYuRoc — doctor of sexology, licensed therapist, kink educator, founder of the Therapeutic BDSM Collaborative Network, creator of Self-Reconciliation Therapy, director of the Kink Professional Standards Alliance, publisher of the Journal of Kinking Community, and one of the most compellingly brilliant humans we have ever had in this studio. She came in to talk about kink. She ended up dismantling everything we thought we knew about trauma, healing, identity, anger, and what it actually means to reconcile with yourself. Doc Yu Roc breaks down why 90% of her therapy clients had some form of sexual trauma — and why 64% of people overall are interested in kink, making kink the statistical majority, not the exception. She unpacks her landmark dissertation "Healing the Angry Black Woman," explains why she created a safe space specifically for Black folks to talk about kink without shame, and introduces us to her four-pillar Self-Reconciliation Therapy framework: self-awareness, acceptance, self-attunement, and atonement.
