Well Sourced History and Dry Humor

Can listening to History Podcasts be relaxing escapism? Yes it can. The History of Rome is a skillful overview with the author’s particular light touch of dry humor which reminds me that while what I’m hearing is a broad historical brush it is also about people being their imperfect selves with all the folly and glory that goes with it. As a History Junkie, this is the sweet spot.

Informative & Great Narrator

Mike Duncan does a fantastic job of explaining History of Rome in chronological order.
I have started to listen to it again for the second time after taking a 2 year break Just as good as the 1st time. Love "The History of Rome".

Simply amazing

I find myself listening to this over and over again. Quite simply one of the best history podcasts ever made. Would recommend to any history buff, and if you're looking to continue the story after 476, check out The History of Byzantium as well!
