    Christ's Two-Part Return

The sermon examines 2 Thessalonians 2 to address the Thessalonian believers' anxiety that they had missed the return of Christ, distinguishing between the gathering of believers and the Day of the Lord. It argues that these are two distinct aspects of Christ's return, separated by a period of tribulation, citing differences in timing, world conditions, and the nature of His appearance. The text identifies the 'man of lawlessness' and a great apostasy as necessary precursors to the Day of the Lord, which has not yet occurred. By referencing Daniel and Revelation, the exposition clarifies the identity of the Antichrist and the restraining force that prevents his revelation. The message aims to provide assurance and theological clarity, encouraging believers to remain steadfast in truth amidst deceptive claims about the timing of end-times events.

    Ecclesiastes 8

This sermon explores the wisdom of Solomon in Ecclesiastes, emphasizing that correct interpretation of reality depends on a proper worldview rooted in divine truth. The text addresses the tension between earthly justice and the apparent success of the wicked, asserting that while human systems are flawed and delayed, God's judgment is perfect and eternal. It highlights the limitations of human knowledge, noting that no one can fully comprehend the works of God or control the timing of life and death. The message encourages believers to trust in God's sovereignty over history and nature, finding contentment in the present moment rather than anxiety over the future. Ultimately, the sermon calls for a recognition of human finitude and a reliance on the wisdom that discerns both time and judgment.

    Rest in Jesus

Title: Rest in Jesus Speaker: Creston Thomas Series: Matthew Date: October 18, 2026 Bible: Matthew 11:25-30 This sermon encourages believers to find spiritual rest and confidence in Jesus Christ as they engage in evangelism and face the challenges of daily life. The central message addresses the anxiety and distraction that often accompany the Christian walk, urging listeners to trust in God's sovereign plan rather than worrying about the outcomes of their efforts. The exposition highlights the intimate relationship between the Father and the Son, emphasizing that Jesus' words carry the full authority of God because they are revealed directly from the Father. Furthermore, the sermon focuses on the character of Jesus as a gentle and lowly Savior who invites those who are heavy-laden to come to Him for rest, rather than acting as a harsh taskmaster. By understanding that God has already revealed the ultimate outcome of salvation and judgment, believers are freed from the burden of controlling results and are empowered to share the gospel with boldness and peace.

Stand Fast In The Grace of God

This sermon explores the concluding chapter of 1 Peter, focusing on the central command to stand firm in the true grace of God. The exposition identifies three key pillars for perseverance: humility in leadership and submission to God's sovereign will, alertness to spiritual warfare through faith and community, and the mutual encouragement of the church body. The speaker emphasizes that believers are not to bear their burdens alone but to cast anxieties on God, who cares for them, while remaining vigilant against the devil. Through the example of Mark's restoration, the message offers hope that God restores and strengthens those who have failed, ensuring that the church stands firm in unity and love until the end.

When Afraid, You Need to Experience God!

This sermon explores how believers can overcome fear and anxiety by actively experiencing God's presence, drawing primarily from Psalm 27. It argues that confidence in God stems not merely from intellectual assent but from a personal, covenantal relationship where God is known as one's light and salvation. The message emphasises the importance of wholehearted desire for corporate worship and beholding God's beauty as a source of protection and peace. Furthermore, it addresses the reality of spiritual dryness by encouraging believers to plead with God for His presence and to 'preach to themselves' by affirming biblical truths against the voice of doubt. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, inviting the audience to rely on Christ's faithfulness to find stability in a fallen world.
