Instructions The Word Foundational For Understanding Part Two

Whenever discussing instructions, the Book of Proverbs has to take center place where it is the chief reason The Author, Solomon says it was written, even though the whole Word of God is for instructions in righteousness, correction and reproof.

    25 Daniel

Daniel has been reading the book of Jeremiah and probably the book of Isaiah. He sees that the length of the Babylonian captivity is going to be only seventy years, and is due to expire. Part of Daniel's prayer shows he knows that Israel has to confess her national sins before the Messiah is going to come to set up His kingdom. Following the prayer, the angel Gabriel comes to make a correction to Daniel's assumption about when the kingdom would begin. Gabriel tells Daniel that the kingdom is going to be set up after this concept he introduces called, "the Seventy-Sevens". Daniel thought waiting for seventy years to finish would be the time span, and Gabriel says, "No, no… it's seventy-sevens of years."

    Consider Your Ways

In this Haggai 1 expository sermon, Pastor Richard Caldwell urges us to Consider Your Ways. Discover how to align your priorities with God. When God speaks His truth, it imparts an immediate responsibility to those who hear it. It is impossible to receive the Word of God irreverently and expect to experience His blessing. True spiritual correction must begin at the heart level before it results in outward obedience. The Lord assessed His people in Haggai's day and exposed their misguided priorities. They had focused on building their own houses while the house of the Lord lay in ruins. This covenant disobedience brought material leanness, demonstrating the loving reproof of a sovereign God. Turning back to the Lord requires humble self-evaluation and a proper heart posture. The ultimate motive for our obedience must never be mere material relief or personal gain. True repentance is driven by a deep desire to please the Lord and seek His glory above all else. Key Biblical Takeaways: - Truth received is a responsibility received, requiring an obedient and reverent response. - Spiritual correction demands humble, penitent self-evaluation at the heart level. - The true motive for biblical repentance is to please and glorify God, not personal relief. - God lovingly uses our circumstances as reproof to draw our hearts back to covenant faithfulness.

    Jesus's Conversation with Nicodemus

This sermon examines the dialogue between Jesus and Nicodemus to highlight the absolute necessity of spiritual rebirth for entering God's kingdom. The central argument asserts that human effort or moral improvement is insufficient for salvation, as humanity possesses a fallen nature that cannot change itself without divine intervention. Jesus' teaching is presented as a confrontation with religious pride, emphasizing that true transformation is a sovereign act of God, likened to the invisible yet powerful wind. The preacher illustrates this concept through the metaphor of a caterpillar becoming a butterfly, signifying a complete change in nature rather than mere behavioral correction. Ultimately, the message affirms that believers are new creations, designed by God for specific purposes, and that the church's role is to faithfully proclaim the Word as the means through which this regeneration occurs.

    Let Leaders Lead

This sermon examines the necessity of godly church leadership in the face of spiritual deception, using the apostle Paul's instructions to Titus in Crete as a primary framework. It presents the church not merely as a place of rest but as a spiritual stronghold where believers are equipped to combat the destructive influence of false teachers who ruin households through insubordination and empty talk. The central argument asserts that the only effective way to silence falsehood is to consistently teach what accords with sound doctrine, thereby exposing error through the clarity of truth rather than through conflict or verbal abuse. The message emphasizes the defiled nature of those who reject Christ, contrasting them with the pure who find all things clean through faith, and calls for a sharp, loving rebuke that aims for the spiritual health of the individual rather than winning an argument. Ultimately, the sermon urges the congregation to trust their leaders, allowing them to perform the difficult work of correction and restoration without resistance, so that the body of Christ may remain sound in the faith.

Study Your Bible Correctly (Part 3)

The sermon establishes the theological principle that Scripture is not subject to private interpretation but requires the guidance of the Holy Spirit, who is identified as the divine author and teacher of the Bible. It emphasizes the necessity of spiritual discernment to understand God's Word, contrasting the natural man's inability to comprehend spiritual truths with the believer's access to revelation through the Spirit. The teaching outlines practical guidelines for Bible study, including the imperative to never add to or subtract from God's Word and to use Scripture to define its own terms and symbols. By citing passages such as 1 Corinthians 2 and John 3, the message illustrates how the Holy Spirit brings remembrance and clarifies deep truths, while warning against the dangers of immature doctrine and the corruption of biblical language. The tone is instructional and pastoral, urging believers to rely on the Spirit's illumination rather than human wisdom or cultural trends.
