Groomed, Gripped, and Graced for His Glory

Groomed, Gripped, and Graced for His Glory The Courage of a Servant Who Knows His Responsibility and Who He Is Accountable To This message reveals that true spiritual courage is born out of knowing what God has called us to do, understanding who we are accountable to, and trusting His sufficiency to accomplish His purposes through us. God does not call His servants because they possess extraordinary abilities. He takes ordinary, insufficient people, prepares them through His Word, grips their hearts with His purposes, and supplies the grace necessary to fulfill their responsibilities. Through the lives of Moses, Joshua, Gideon, and Rahab, we discover how God prepares people for His glory. Moses learned at the burning bush that the bush was not responsible for fueling the fire—God was. Likewise, the power to accomplish God's work does not originate in the servant but in the Lord who calls and sustains him. Joshua was groomed through years of faithfully following Moses, learning to receive God's Word, trust His promises, and embrace the responsibilities awaiting him. Gideon discovered that his strength was not found in his natural courage but in the authority of the One who declared, "Have I not sent you?" Rahab demonstrated how genuine faith hears God's truth, believes His promises, and responds in obedience, allowing His marvelous grace to transform an unlikely life into a testimony of redemption. At the heart of the message is the relationship between responsibility, accountability, and courage. God repeatedly commanded Joshua to be strong and courageous because Joshua needed to understand both the assignment entrusted to him and the Lord to whom he would answer. Res

    Courageously Committed

Courageously Committed Deuteronomy 3:28 | Joshua 1:1–9 The strength to fulfill God's purposes comes from knowing our responsibility, recognizing our accountability, and committing ourselves to what God is already committed to accomplishing. This message explores how God prepared Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land, reminding us that the Lord never calls His people to accomplish His will independently of His grace and strength. Before Joshua ever crossed the Jordan, God had been preparing him through Moses, strengthening his faith, establishing his responsibility, and reminding him of the divine authority under which he would lead. The repeated command to "Be strong and of good courage" was more than an appeal to bravery. It was a call to courageous commitment rooted in two essential truths: responsibility and accountability. Joshua needed to get a grip on what God had entrusted to him and recognize that he was ultimately accountable to the Lord. His courage would not come from personal ability, physical strength, or the approval of people, but from his confidence in the God who had commanded him and promised to go with him. The sermon emphasizes that faith is committing ourselves to what God has committed Himself to accomplish. Joshua and Caleb demonstrated this when they trusted God's promise despite the giants and fortified cities before them. Their generation's failure was not a lack of opportunity but a refusal to believe the Lord. The obstacles were real, but God's faithfulness was greater. Rahab provides another beautiful picture of courageous commitment. While Jericho feared Israel's God and prepared to resist, Rahab believed what she had heard about
