    Notes – March 22, 2026 @ 3pm Segment 1 – News and Notes 1.Dylan Crews was demoted this weekend. While surprising on one level, I had concerns after reviewing the data over the winter and shared that with our Patreon members. Plus, he just didn’t perform well this spring. a.How concerned are you for the long term for Crews? 2.Brandon Sproat wins the fifth starter role over Logan Henderson. a.I liked the deal that brought Sproat to Milwaukee, and he had a great spring. Your thoughts? 3.Logan Henderson might be back, as there is talk of Brandon Woodruff not quite being ready. He did not pitch well in his last outing. 4.Marcelo Mayer wins the second base job over Kristian Campbell. a.Thoughts on Mayer this season. b.What happened to Kristian Campbell – from the penthouse to the doghouse 5.As discussed, Jasson Dominguez will start the season in the minor leagues. Let’s see if he can hit lefties. a.Are you worried long-term about him? He’s only 23 – just turned 23 last month. 6.Carson Benge will go north with the team. He posted a great batting average this spring, but he only hit one extra-base hit. a.What are your thoughts for him in 2026? 7.Trey Yesavage has a shoulder impingement and will start the season on the IL. a.Why doesn’t this surprise me? 8.Andrew Painter appears to have secured the fifth starter spot in Philadelphia – although, I haven’t seen official confirmation yet.t. a.Thoughts on him this season? Segment 2 – Guys you avoided at the draft We talked about all the players we liked for 2026, give me a couple of players you just avoided and why. Segment 3 – 2026 Bold predictions – Mine are listed •Hitters oWyatt Langford emerges as a superstar and becomes a first-round pick in 2027 oRoman Anthony hits 40 home runs and becomes the face of the Red Sox oCoby Mayo hits .270 with 28 home runs, and despite ugly defense at third, keeps Jordan Westburg on the bench when he returns. Bonus: In the offseason, the Orioles will try to trade Pete Alonso, but will instead move Rutschman. This will move Basallo full-time to catcher and Mayo full-time to DH. Since the emperor has no clothes, the junior members of the Orioles front office will be thinking they made a mistake in signing Pete Alonso, but nobody will have the courage to bring it up to GM Mike Elias. oJac Caglione hits 50 home runs but fantasy managers have to deal with his .225 batting average. oKevin McGonigle will win the April Rookie of the Month award and carry that throughout the season to easily win ROY •Pitching oShane Baz finally puts things together in Baltimore and becomes a Top 20 to 25 starting pitcher in the game. oIn July, the Dodgers starting rotation will be Shohei Ohtani, Emmet Sheehan, River Ryan, and Landon Knack. By late July, they will jump the gun on everyone and trade for Tarik Skubal oRobby Snelling will get the first call in Miami, but it’s Thomas White who excels, pushing Snelling back to Triple-A. oHogan Harris saves 30 games for the A’s oRiver Ryan will win the NL ROY as he’ll dominate once all the Dodgers pitchers get hurt in May. He hasn’t risen too much in ADP, likely as TOS has proven challenging to work through. He went in the early part of the eighth round in LABR. Thoughts on how to handle Wheeler this season? 2.What did you think of Tatsuya Imai debut? He averaged 93.3 MPH with his fastball. 3.I’m sure we will discuss Josh Hader in the next segment, but there is no timetable yet for him to start throwing. How are you handling Hader this season? He went in the 11th round in LABR, so people seem concerned. 4.MLB.TV has changed – I’ll explain. Segment 3 – Closer Report 1.The Closer Report was relatively stable until the trade deadline and then became volatile in August. This week, UCL tears hit a.Pablo Lopez – is out for the season with TJS. Who gets his starts? b.Jordan Westburg – has a partially torn UCL to go along with his oblique. He’s on a PRP injection program (Ugh). i.Do you put him on your DND list? 3.The Cardinals signed Ramon Urias to a one-year deal. It’s likely as a backup, but it also puts pressure on JJ Wetherholt to hit. a.We are seeing a number of these “small, pressure signs” this year. 4.Gerrit Cole faced batters in a bullpen session on Saturday and reportedly looked good, hitting 97 to 98 on the radar gun. a.I know there’s risk, but it is Gerrit Cole. I grabbed him in the 19th round and I’m very happy about that. Your thoughts? 5.The Guardians sign Rhys Hoskins to a minor league deal as insurance for Kayfus and Manzardo.
