I owe the SWB a deep and sincere apology. I never realized how much he held this podcast together.
Vince Goodwill is an awful fit for Hoop Collective. Every discussion gets hijacked into a forced hot take, he argues for the sake of arguing, “sources” feel and sound as if they are his twitter, and he strips all the nuance out of what used to be one of the smartest NBA podcasts around. This isn’t First Take—or at least it never used to be… Windy and MacMahon tee him up with easy layups, and somehow every conversation still ends up off the rails. And the intro catchphrase… please, for everyone’s sake, stop trying to be a mash-up of MacMahon and Stephen A.
The last two weeks have been painful, and I have seen it all after being a listener for the last 6+ years (5 stars always). Need to find someone else for the third chair.
