He gave me this beautiful creation over two years ago. But, because he didn't think that it was finished, I wasn't allowed to put it in a mix or play it LIVE. I've patiently asked him every six months if he got a chance to finish it YET 😅🤔😜 This time when I bugged him, he finally gave me permission to put it in this mix. Do you prefer a regular line level DJ mixer or a rotary mixer?I grew up playing on line lever mixers and am used to them.I've heard many house DJs say that they have more control with a rotary mixer and that they sound better when it outputs the audio.Everyone's journey is different. I got into the dancing and listening to other people DJ for the first 4yrs. Buying records next and then DJ'ing. Then throwing parties and trying to promote 😅 I played on the Pioneer DJ mixer, the "DJM 500" for years and that was a non rotary, line level DJ mixer. Never even saw a rotary until maybe 15 yrs into house music. It wasn't fancy or high end. Usually hallow sound, farting bass. Not balanced. Piercing mids. __________________Thank you. Are you being your own Best Cheerleader?I decided at 49yrs old to stop any negative thoughts or self-talk. Recognise it. Stop it. Then displace it with house music or comedy. I didn't even try to fight it. I had low confidence in my will power. LMAO.I hope that all is well in your neck of the words. Thank you for taking a listen to our brand of house music. [We've loved this special art form since we were 14-15yrs old and now almost 52. We've gone past the stage where people might ask, 'Aren't you too old for...' by decades. LMAO]. There are dozens of house DJs that I listen to, so I know that choice is abundant, so I appreciate it when someone would take time from their lives to check out a mix. It makes me happy thinking about people smiling and bopping their heads while driving or walking their doggies or working out or cleaning their homes to our mixes or any other activity.What was really cool the last few years were three separate friends blasting one of my house mixes in their cars and they were in some warm tropical paradise, Jaimaica, South America or Mexico and took short 1min videos and sent them to me. It was a great poor man's vacation. I could picture being with them in the heat with my music blaring out of their cars. House music is such a connector. __________________Thank you. LMAO.IF you ever want to visit Toronto, make sure that you only come here from June to Sept.__________________House music and DJ'ing house are endlessly fascinating to me even after 30 yrs.I've loved this art form since I was 14 and started buying records at 18. I'm 51 and still buy new tracks almost monthly. Still hunt through a mountain of shet to find the few gems that MOVE me. __________________WITH EACH HOUSE MIX » First, I always create a house music mix for me. To satisfy my nerdy curiosities and to showcase new tracks that I've bought.. Second, I make mixes for my best friend and DJ partner, Jimmy. We've both LOVED house music since we were 14yrs old and met at 16yrs old.We danced all the time and DJ'ed together in every nice place and shit hole in our Beloved Toronto.If Jim tells me that he likes one of my mixes, then I"m on cloud 9 for the rest of the week.
