Traveling the Vortex

I’ve been listening to these three great guys since nearly the beginning. They make each episode a real treat to listen to. They take us into their own personal lives, explaining what they watched, read, listened to that week. They talk about their family lives as well, fully making us feel like family. They also cover the entire pop culture world for us. Lastly, they cover one of the greatest shows ever created. Not once have I glazed over during a show. Each one keeps my attention from start to finish. More than most podcasts, they make you the listener feel like a part of their circle.

This is my favorite Doctor Who podcast because it doesn't take itself so deadly seriously. The three hosts are all good friends, and they share their love for all things Who without becoming judgmental and sanctimonious like some Who podcasts tend to do. I love their interpersonal banter because it made me become their friend instead of just a listener. They branch out into other discussions at times, but it never feels like a departure from the goal of the podcast, just a friendly detour. Can't recommend these guys highly enough!!

I stumbled across TTV when I first started watching Doctor Who (in 2012). I was as new to Who as Keith was, so I felt for him and the learning curve he was on. I went back and mainlined all of their episodes and have been listening ever since. I’ve been fortunate to have become friends with all three of the guys and am proud to see how the show has grown. Keep it up!

Traveling the Vortex is a very enjoyable podcast about all things Doctor Who. They review and discuss new and classic Doctor Who along with Who related material across various platforms. I enjoy the format: they start by catching up on what has been going on in their lives and Kansas. They read Feedback from the listeners. Which helps to create a small dinner party feel, which adds to the enjoyment. Then they move on to whatever is currently going on in Who or on their schedule. They have lively discussions in which you get a real feel for how much they enjoy the characters and the Who Universe in general. I like how honest their reactions are, and their appreciation for the work and the effort that goes into creating Who, even if it doesn’t quite work. Which is going to happen if you are trying new things, do them differently and just aspiring to be more. This is just a really well done podcast about Doctor Who.
