The Gospel Was Never Meant to Stay With You | Cole Ellerbrock | Tomball

Have you ever wondered if your faith was meant for more than just your own personal growth? Jesus never intended the gospel to become something we collect and keep to ourselves. He calls ordinary people to carry extraordinary hope into everyday life. In this message from Luke 10, Pastor Cole Ellerbrock explores what it means to live as a witness for Christ. You'll discover why Jesus sends His followers into the world, how He equips them for that mission, and why sharing your faith isn't about having all the answers—it's about telling others what God has done in your life. * Jesus calls every believer to be a witness, not just pastors or ministry leaders. * The motivation for sharing the gospel is God's love and compassion for people who need hope. * Your everyday relationships, conversations, and routines are opportunities to live with purpose and point others to Jesus. **Key Scriptures:** * Luke 10:1–20 * Luke 9:51 * Acts 1:8 * John 1 * Matthew 4 * Matthew 9:35–38 * Matthew 28:18–20 * Ephesians 1 * 2 Timothy 1:7 * Isaiah 26:8 If this message encouraged or challenged you, take a moment to ask God who He's calling you to be a witness to this week. Share this sermon with a friend or family member who could use this reminder, and we'd love to welcome you to Bayou City Fellowship if you're looking for a church home. Good Intentions Aren’t Enough | Kevin Barra | Spring Branch

In Luke 9, the disciples experience both success and failure as they follow Jesus. But in this passage, Jesus exposes something deeper than a lack of skill or effort. He confronts their overconfidence, their confusion about His mission, their self-importance, and their tendency to divide people into insiders and outsiders. Through these moments, Jesus reshapes what it means to follow Him. Faith is not self-confidence but dependence on God. Greatness is not status but humility. Ministry is not about personal success but self-sacrificial service. And the kingdom of God is not a closed group but an open work of God advancing through unexpected people. • Faith-filled dependence replaces overconfidence in our own ability • True discipleship is marked by self-sacrificial service, not personal success • Greatness in the kingdom is defined by humility and honoring the least • God’s work is not limited to our group, identity, or control Key Scriptures: Luke 9:37-50 Matthew 17:19-20 Romans 12:1 Philippians 2:5-8 Following Jesus reshapes how we see ourselves, others, and success. The challenge is not just to learn from the disciples’ mistakes but to allow Christ to form our character in faith, humility, and love. If this message encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to be reminded that failure is not final and Jesus is still forming His people.
