Moving Beyond Religion Creating a Community That Loves Like Jesus

How Do People in Our Community Talk About Church? Today's episode focused on the deep importance of how a church is known—not just by its members, but by the broader community. One concept discussed was whether a local church would be missed if it closed its doors, emphasizing a vision of being known for truly loving and serving, not just asking for something in return. A key theme that emerged was that real transformation, not just information or empty words, should be at the heart of faith. The discussion explored how acts of sacrificial generosity—and a spirit of radical acceptance—can shape the reputation of a faith community for the better. Key takeaways: -Building a reputation for wanting good for people (not from them) makes a faith community stand out in a skeptical world. -Real love in action means being outrageously generous with time, resources, and kindness—so much so that it surprises others 13:32. -The best legacy is equipping the next generation to say, “That’s not my experience of church!”—because what they've witnessed is genuine love and care 16:47. --- 📅 Join us live on Sundays at 11 AM - both in person and online. 📌 Follow us on social media: Facebook: https://facebook.com/coffeecreekchurch Instagram: https://instagram.com/coffeecreek.church App: https://coffeecreek.churchcenter.com/ Web: https://www.coffeecreek.church ================= 00:00 Fostering a Welcoming Church Community 06:40 Balancing Faith and Compassion in Life 07:48 Discussing Jesus’ transformative message in Matthew 22 11:02 Practicing Love Through Words and Actions 15:12 Discussing Vision for Youth Programs Coffee Creek Church, Edmond OK, community reputation, church hurt, church trauma, faith and skepticism, transformation vs information, love one another, generosity, doing good, Christian community, church and family, outsider perspective, church giving, Do Good Fund, loving neighbors, Jesus teachings, radical acceptance, serving the community, spiritual growth, practical faith, church participation, non-churchgoers, faith and actions, charity, sacrificial giving, biblical love, relationships, next generation ministry, cheerful giving, positive impact

Loving the People Around You: Faithful Neighboring for Busy Lives

Our neighborhoods, workplaces, and daily routines often put us beside people we barely know. Yet, just like in our digital communities, faith calls us to genuine connection—beyond a quick wave or courtesy nod. Rediscover what it really means to be a “witness” to Christ in today’s world: not selling, not preaching, but simply sharing how Jesus has personally shaped our stories—through struggles, healing, or transformation. Today's episode explores practical ways we can live that out with compassion, especially for those around us who might be hurting or seeking hope. --- 📅 Join us live on Sundays at 11 AM - both in person and online. 📌 Follow us on social media: Facebook: https://facebook.com/coffeecreekchurch Instagram: https://instagram.com/coffeecreek.church App: https://coffeecreek.churchcenter.com/ Web: https://www.coffeecreek.church ================= 00:00 Being a better neighbor 04:32 Understanding Witness in Christianity 08:49 Understanding the Role of Witnesses 13:15 Sharing the gospel message today 15:10 Discussing emotional struggles 20:24 Introducing the Bless app 22:34 Praying for others by name 24:35 Listening and sharing personal faith 27:21 Helping a family with a flat tire neighborhood relationships, community connection, loneliness, digital identity, knowing your neighbor, sphere of influence, Barna Institute, millennial Christians, witnessing, sharing faith, evangelism, good news, kingdom of God, Jesus as King, suffering, compassion, testimony, personal story, daily prayer, Bless app, praying for neighbors, spiritual practices, listening, hospitality, building relationships, Christian witness, servant leadership, inclusivity, church community

Sharing Jesus Authentically: Rediscovering the Heart of the Gospel

For too long, many think that talking about Jesus means convincing people how bad they are and pressuring them into belief. But looking at Peter’s approach in Acts, it’s clear: the early church centered everything on Jesus—not sales tactics. Here are 3 key takeaways for anyone wanting authentic conversations about faith: -Focus on Jesus, not persuasion. The apostles didn’t make salvation about closing a deal; they told the story of Jesus and let the Holy Spirit do the convincing. -Our job is to invite, not coerce. Sharing the gospel is about being honest about what God has done, inviting others to respond, and leaving the pressure—and the results—to God. -Real “faith” means allegiance. Far deeper than just mental assent or a onetime decision, biblical faith is about pledging ongoing trust and loyalty to Jesus as King. Let’s rethink evangelism—move away from “soul-winning” pressure and invest in genuine, hopeful conversations that build community and point people to the goodness of Jesus. #leadership #community #faith #edmond #oklahoma #spiritualgrowth --- 📅 Join us live on Sundays at 11 AM - both in person and online. 📌 Follow us on social media: Facebook: https://facebook.com/coffeecreekchurch Instagram: https://instagram.com/coffeecreek.church App: https://coffeecreek.churchcenter.com/ Web: https://www.coffeecreek.church ================= 00:00 Pushy pest control salesman chat 06:13 Exploring Early Evangelism Methods 08:00 Defining the Gospel through History 13:14 Peter's message and call to action 15:42 Jesus reassures disciples with Spirit 21:52 Paul's preaching and persuasion techniques 24:15 Jesus as the center of faith 28:59 Understanding Faith and Allegiance 30:08 Beginner and advanced prayer reflection 33:18 Telling the gospel story garage cleaning, door-to-door sales, evangelism, gospel sharing, fear of rejection, persuasive techniques, soul winning, church history, revivalism, Acts chapter 2, Peter's sermon, Pentecost, Holy Spirit, Israel's history, Jesus as King, new kingdom, baptism, repentance, salvation, faith, trust in Jesus, allegiance to Jesus, fidelity, proclamation, Christian community, personal testimony, spiritual transformation, pastoral advice, relational evangelism, practical application, overcoming anxiety
