It's been another eventful week at Hillsborough, and The Wednesday Week podcast is back to pick through it all! Dan Fudge is joined by Simon, Lee Wildgoose and local celebrity Dom Howson to review Sheffield Wednesday's back-to-back 1-1 draws against Cambridge United and Blackpool in League One, as Matt Hamshaw's brief spell in caretaker charge comes to an end. We discuss Mason Burstow's goal against Cambridge, Davis Keillor-Dunn's strike against Blackpool, Sil Swinkels' controversial red card and whether Wednesday's performances showed genuine improvement following the departure of Henrik Pedersen. Our big talking point this week is the appointment of Dave Challinor as Sheffield Wednesday's new manager. With seven promotions on his managerial CV, is he the man to finally unlock the potential of this Wednesday squad and lead the Owls towards promotion? Plus, we discuss the latest injury news, squad selection headaches, Challinor's potential backroom team and the upcoming FA Cup clash with Oldham Athletic. Two draws, two points and plenty of opinions. Is this the beginning of a new era at Hillsborough, or is there still plenty of work to be done? Join Dan, Simon, Lee and Dom for the usual mix of Sheffield Wednesday analysis, debate, laughs and a healthy dose of nonsense. 🎙️ The Wednesday Week – By Wednesday fans, for Wednesday fans. 🌐 www.thewednesdayweek.com #SWFC #SheffieldWednesday #DaveChallinor #LeagueOne #TheWednesdayWeek #WAWAW Hosted on Acast. Hello From the Other Side 26/27 - Blackpool (h)

Ahead of Sheffield Wednesday's League One clash with Blackpool at Hillsborough, Dan Fudge speaks to John from the Seasiders Podcast for the latest episode of Hello From The Other Side from The Wednesday Week podcast. With Blackpool struggling near the League One relegation zone, John gives us the opposition perspective on what's going wrong at Bloomfield Road and whether Ian Evatt is the right man to turn their season around. We look back at Blackpool's 2025/26 campaign, the expectations heading into this season and whether the summer transfer window has strengthened the squad. With Ashley Fletcher departing and familiar faces Jerry Yates and Dion Charles leading the attack, have Blackpool got enough firepower to climb the table? We also discuss Evatt's tactics, the impact of injuries, the players who have impressed and whether supporters are losing patience with the manager. Attention then turns to Sheffield Wednesday following Henrik Pedersen's departure and Matt Hamshaw taking interim charge. What does John make of the Owls' season so far, and can the Seasiders take advantage of the uncertainty at Hillsborough? Finally, where will Sheffield Wednesday and Blackpool finish in League One this season, and what's John's score prediction for Sunday? Get the Blackpool perspective ahead of Sheffield Wednesday vs Blackpool on The Wednesday Week. #SWFC #BlackpoolFC #SheffieldWednesday #LeagueOne #EFL Hosted on Acast. Five Days, Two Defeats, One P45

The Wednesday Week: Two Defeats, One Departure and a Week to Forget at Sheffield Wednesday It’s been quite the week at Sheffield Wednesday, and not one we’ll be looking back on particularly fondly. Back-to-back 2-0 defeats against Notts County and Doncaster Rovers have brought the Owls crashing back down to earth, with performances raising serious questions about the direction of the team. Defensive mistakes, injuries, a red card for Jamal Lowe and another frustrating lack of goals have all contributed to a miserable few days. The biggest news, however, came on Sunday as Sheffield Wednesday confirmed the departure of manager Henrik Pedersen, bringing an end to his time at Hillsborough following a difficult start to the League One campaign. Dan Fudge is joined by a bumper crowd of Stevie, Hollie, Ash, Tom and Jon to pick through the wreckage of a miserable week, question the tactical decisions and team selections, and discuss whether Pedersen’s departure was inevitable despite the loyalty and dignity he showed during one of the club’s most turbulent periods. We also discuss the worrying injury to DiShon Bernard, Gabriel Otegbayo’s absence from the squad, the racist abuse directed at Jamal Lowe following his dismissal at Meadow Lane, and the latest developments off the pitch, including Wednesday’s new partnership with Village Hotels. Two defeats, no goals, a managerial departure and plenty to talk about. Where do Sheffield Wednesday go from here, and who should be the next man in the Hillsborough hot seat? #SWFC #SheffieldWednesday #TheWednesdayWeek #LeagueOne #WAWAW Hosted on Acast.
