    Generosity, gratitude and overflow | Louis Kotzé

    Generosity and gratitude aren’t just personal virtues – they’re signs of the Kingdom of God at work. In this message, we explore how God’s abundant provision flows through us, produces generosity, and results in gratitude that overflows back to Him – the very rhythm by which His Kingdom advances. We look at 2 Corinthians 9 and the remarkable story of the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15, where the Early Church faced a defining Kingdom moment: would the Gospel remain bound to Jewish tradition, or would it be released to the nations? The leaders’ decision to embrace the Gentile believers – releasing their own position, control, and comfort – was an act of profound generosity that expanded God’s Kingdom beyond anything they could have imagined. That generosity of spirit is what stirred grateful, overflowing response in the Gentile churches, and it’s what continues to carry the Gospel forward today. This is the pattern of Kingdom generosity: it isn’t transactional, it isn’t measured by size, and it isn’t about what we get in return. It flows from grace already received, and its harvest is righteousness – the Kingdom taking root in more and more lives.
