Fear Not - Pt 2

The sermon explores the theme of overcoming fear through trust in God's providence and purpose, using the narratives of Mary, Joseph, and the shepherds as primary examples. It highlights how each individual faced unique circumstances that induced fear, yet responded to the angelic command to 'fear not' by embracing God's plan. The message emphasizes that while human perspective often sees only immediate problems or uncertainty, God sees the entire book of life and works all things together for good. The preacher encourages the audience to prioritize immediate obedience over comfort, illustrating this with personal anecdotes and the example of Joseph's faithful response. Finally, the sermon calls believers to overcome the fear of rejection in their witness, urging them to actively share the gospel and trust that God uses their obedience to reach others.

Grace Produces Faithful Service

This sermon explores how the grace of God transforms believers into faithful servants who reflect the mind of Christ in their daily lives. It emphasizes that salvation is not merely a past event but a present reality that produces visible obedience, a shining witness in a dark world, and a selfless attitude toward others. The message contrasts the extremes of self-reliance and passivity, urging believers to work out their salvation with reverence while relying on God's power to work within them. Through the examples of Timothy and Epaphroditus, the sermon illustrates that true Christian maturity is marked by genuine care and sacrificial service rather than personal recognition. Ultimately, the goal is for the light of Christ to shine through believers, leading others to glorify God.

The Rock That Is Higher

This sermon explores Psalm 61 as a model for moving from personal distress to divine praise, emphasizing that God is a steadfast rock and shelter for believers facing overwhelming troubles. The message encourages listeners to actively seek God through prayer, Bible study, and godly counsel, rather than relying on worldly resources or their own strength. It highlights the importance of abiding in God's presence, allowing the Holy Spirit to guide daily life and provide comfort during seasons of loss or testing. By examining the concept of spiritual heritage and the call to serve, the sermon invites the congregation to trust in God's provision and to respond to His grace with consistent praise and obedience. The tone is pastoral and encouraging, aiming to reassure the audience that God hears their cries and remains present through every storm.

Walk This Way

This sermon explores the practical implications of the new life in Christ by examining the Apostle Paul's instructions in Ephesians 5. The central message emphasizes that salvation transforms a believer's identity from darkness to light, requiring a consistent daily walk that reflects Christ's character rather than merely Sunday observance. The exposition is structured around three key aspects of this walk: walking in sacrificial love, walking in the light of righteousness, and walking with circumspect wisdom. Through personal anecdotes and scriptural analysis, the tone is pastoral and instructional, urging parents to model these virtues so their children can imitate a life of integrity and spiritual maturity. The sermon concludes with a call to self-examination and reliance on the Holy Spirit to maintain this consistent testimony before the world.

Busy For God

The sermon examines the parable of Martha and Mary to illustrate how busyness, even in good causes, can displace a vital relationship with Christ. It argues that prioritizing activity over spiritual connection leads to viewing life as unfair and questioning God's judgment, a pattern further exemplified by Gehazi's greed and modern distractions. The message contrasts doing good things with choosing the best thing, which is sitting at Jesus' feet. To remedy this, the speaker urges believers to intentionally realign their priorities by getting busy loving God and growing in their knowledge of the Word. The central call is to ensure that one's commitment to Christ remains the primary focus, preventing the spiritual emptiness that results from neglecting divine fellowship.

Grace Produces Christlike Humility

This sermon explores how divine grace transforms believers into a unified body through the cultivation of humility. Drawing primarily from Philippians chapter two, the message argues that true unity is not achieved by enforcing uniformity but by adopting the mind of Christ, which prioritizes servanthood over self-interest. The preacher illustrates this theological concept with personal anecdotes and historical examples to demonstrate how pride divides while grace binds believers together in purpose. By examining Christ's descent from glory to the cross and subsequent exaltation, the text establishes a pattern where humility precedes divine honor. Ultimately, the message calls the congregation to abandon selfish ambition and actively serve one another, thereby reflecting Christ's character to the world.

Growing Through The Struggle

This sermon addresses parents of teenagers, urging them to shift their focus from merely resolving their children's relational conflicts to using those struggles as opportunities for spiritual growth. Drawing from Ephesians 4, the message outlines four key principles for discipleship: teaching children to face problems with honesty, to take personal responsibility for their responses, to guard their hearts against bitterness, and to respond with Christlike kindness and forgiveness. The preacher emphasizes that while parents must intervene in cases of danger, they should generally allow difficulty to build character, much like resistance builds muscle. The central goal is not to raise children who avoid problems, but to equip them with biblical tools to respond to adversity in a way that reflects the character of Christ.

Pleasing God

The sermon explores the central theme of pleasing God by outlining four essential requirements: faith, spirit living, displeasing the world, and surrender. Drawing primarily from Hebrews 11 and Romans 8, the message emphasizes that faith is the foundational step to bridge the gap caused by sin, while living in the Spirit provides the power necessary to overcome carnal desires. The preacher contrasts the pursuit of human approval with the call to remain distinct from worldly entanglements, urging believers to submit to divine authority rather than societal whims. Through illustrations and scriptural analysis, the text highlights that sanctification is a continuous process of aligning one's will with God's, transforming obedience from a chore into a joyful desire. Ultimately, the message encourages listeners to actively seek a deep, personal relationship with the Heavenly Father through deliberate effort and spiritual devotion.
