Says Who?

Ever believed something just because someone told you it was true? What about the things you've been told about yourself, or worse, the things you've convinced yourself are true? In this episode of Anchored & Sent, we talk about how the words of others, our past experiences, and our own thoughts can shape how we see ourselves. But are those beliefs really true? And could they be keeping us from growing closer to Christ? Sometimes we just need to stop and ask, "Says who?"

Who Told You That?

How many times have we talked ourselves out of something because we didn’t feel qualified, prepared, or ready? This week, a story from my son reminded me that sometimes we don’t do the first thing because we don’t know how to do the fifth thing. We’ll look at Moses, the excuses we tell ourselves, and the difference between “You’ve got this” and God saying, “I will be with you.” Before you decide you’re not the person for it, ask yourself one question: Who told you that?

Where Was God Today?

Where did you see God today? This week I’m sharing a few God sightings friends sent me, and I love how different every answer was. One saw God through helping someone, another through watching lives change, and one honestly said she looked for God all day and just couldn’t see Him. That last one really got me thinking. What about the days when we look for God and come up empty? Let’s talk about it. Stay anchored in Christ. Be sent into the world and be the light of Christ, because this world needs it.

Just Show Up.

Sometimes the biggest step of faith isn't having all the answers. It's simply showing up. In this episode, I'm joined by my friend Colton as he shares how one invitation, one "yes," and a willingness to show up changed the direction of his life. We talk about fear, failure, God's grace, and how He often uses ordinary people who are simply willing to take the next step. I Can't Fix This One

We thought we were building wheelchair ramps... but God was building us.

What began as a mission to help others became a reminder that God often changes the hearts of those serving just as much as those being served. Some Weeks Fight Back

Some weeks just fight back. This week I battled printer problems, a car repair that seemed determined to win, bruised arms, a broken brake clip, and a heavy-duty zip tie that temporarily became part of my repair strategy. In the middle of all that, a phone call from my son and a visit from my friend Steven reminded me that God often shows up through people. We'll laugh a little, talk about those frustrating weeks we've all had, and look at why the words from Ecclesiastes about "two being better than one" hit differently this time. Where I Saw God This Week

A conversation with a waitress. A Saturday with my son. A homemade dirt bike. A trip into the bushes. At first, none of those stories seemed connected. But looking back, they reminded me of the disciples on the road to Emmaus and how we often don't recognize Jesus walking beside us until later. Where did you see God this week?
