Digital nomad life looks dreamy from the outside: laptops in cafés, flexible schedules, new cities, new people, and the freedom to choose where you live. But behind the aesthetic, there is also loneliness, unstable routines, time zone struggles, productivity pressure, packing anxiety, and the quiet question of whether this lifestyle actually fits you. In this episode, we talk about how we accidentally became digital nomads, what we learned from working across Asia, why where you sleep matters more than you think, the difference between remote work and true nomading, and the communities that made us feel less crazy for wanting a different kind of life. In the end, maybe digital nomad life is not just about moving around — it is about asking: am I living in a place, with people, and in a rhythm that feels right for me?

ep7. Making friends as an adult

Making friends as an adult can feel both easier and harder at the same time. Easier, because we know ourselves better and can recognize our people faster. Harder, because everyone is busy, life moves in different directions, and friendship often turns into “let’s catch up” instead of simply sharing everyday moments. In this episode, we talk about adult friendship, cultural differences in making friends, finding people on the same frequency, the beauty of random encounters, and why some friendships can feel instantly familiar even when they begin later in life. ep6. Self-love

Today we’re talking about self-love — a word we see everywhere, especially online. It usually comes with soft visuals: spa days, shopping, flowers, girls’ nights, bubble baths, and inspirational quotes telling us, “Before falling in love with anyone, remember to love yourself first.” But what does that actually mean? Is self-love the same as confidence? Is it self-esteem? Is it choosing yourself over everyone else? And what if loving the people close to you — taking care of them, prioritizing them, showing up for them — genuinely makes you happy? In this episode, we try to understand self-love beyond the aesthetic version. We talk about family patterns, people-pleasing, saying no, friendship editing, therapy, shadows, perfectionism, and the difficult question: am I loving others because it brings me joy, or because being needed makes me feel valuable? Maybe self-love is not about becoming perfectly confident. Maybe it is about choosing not to abandon yourself, even when you make mistakes, even when you feel unlovable, and even when you are still learning who you are. Question for the club: what does loving yourself actually look like in your real life?

In this episode, we talk about living in the present — and why it feels so hard when our lives are split across cities, countries, phones, work, memories, and people we love. María shares a meditation moment in Jeju that made her wonder: if we are connected to so many places at once, which present are we supposed to be in? Nora reflects on childhood summer vacations, the anxiety of planning ahead, muting notifications, and the small practices that help her return to the moment. We talk about digital burnout, remote life, voice messages, people-watching, breathing, exercise, and our new shared life goal: becoming a Jeju grandpa. From late-night overthinking and doomscrolling to blackout curtains, bedtime routines, and learning how to slow down, we unpack our complicated relationship with rest and why good sleep often feels easier to talk about than to achieve. No miracle sleep hacks, no perfect morning routines. Just two tired friends trying to understand why sleep matters so much and why it's often the first thing we sacrifice. ep3. How do you feel?

In this episode, we talk about showing our emotions, especially sadness, and why it can feel so complicated depending on where we come from. Growing up in Asian and Latin American cultures, we learned different messages about crying, vulnerability, strength, and what emotions are acceptable to show. We dive into the cultural context behind emotional expression, share some personal stories about crying (and trying not to cry), and reflect on our experiences with both traditional and non-traditional forms of mental health support and healing. No expert advice, no emotional rulebook. Just two sensitive friends exploring what it means to feel deeply, express honestly, and make space for emotions that are often hidden away. Question for the club: How was sadness treated in your family or culture growing up, and how has that shaped the way you express your emotions today?

We also bring into the conversation three books that have helped us think differently about creativity, purpose, and life: Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert, The Creative Act by Rick Rubin, and The Almanack of Naval Ravikant. No perfect answers, no five-step plan. Just two sensitive friends trying to understand what it means to feel stuck and how we slowly find our way back to movement.
