    You Haven’t Gone Too Far

Send us Fan Mail Have you ever looked back at something you’ve done and wondered if you’ve gone too far for God to use you? Maybe it’s a decision you regret, a season you walked away from your faith, or something from your past that still makes you question whether you’re worthy of another chance. In this episode of Well-Made Woman, we’re looking at Peter’s story. The same man who denied knowing Jesus three times went on to boldly preach the gospel at Pentecost, where about 3,000 people were saved. And here’s what I love about his story. Jesus knew Peter would fail before it ever happened. Yet He still loved him, restored him, and called him to follow. We’re talking about the difference between conviction and condemnation, why forgiveness doesn’t mean ignoring accountability, and what it looks like to stop allowing your past to define your future. If you’ve been carrying shame, questioning your purpose, or believing you’ve made too many mistakes, I hope this episode reminds you that your failure doesn’t have to be the end of your story. You haven’t gone too far to turn back to Jesus. Thank you for spending this time with me today. If this episode spoke to your heart, would you share it with another woman who needs to hear it? And if you haven’t already, leave a review—it helps this podcast reach more women who are searching for hope. You can connect with me on Instagram @itsmandypenn for encouragement, resources, and updates on new episodes. Until next time, remember: you don’t have to hold everything together to be held by God. Are You Making Room to Hear God?

Send us Fan Mail When was the last time you came to God without an agenda and simply made room to listen? Lately, I’ve been feeling a growing desire to slow down, unplug, and spend more intentional time with the Lord. As a mom, a full-time working woman, and someone who has spent years serving in ministry, I know how easy it is to fill every available moment. So I’ve decided to take a 40-day social media fast and spend that time praying, reading Scripture, and journaling. In this episode of Well-Made Woman, we’re talking about what it means to hear God, recognize the Holy Spirit’s conviction, receive correction with humility, and surrender our own plans instead of simply asking God to change our circumstances. We’ll explore Psalm 139, Acts 8, John 14, and Psalm 46, and consider how to become women who are not only willing to hear God’s truth but willing to respond to it. Because sometimes the question isn’t whether God is listening to us... It’s whether we’re making room to listen to Him. Insecurity: When Wounds Start Wounding

Send us Fan Mail What happens when someone else’s insecurity starts affecting the way they treat you? Maybe it’s the coworker who turns everything into a competition. The friend who has a hard time celebrating you. The family member who seems more comfortable with an older version of you. Or maybe it’s happening in your relationship, and you’ve slowly become responsible for managing someone else’s emotions, jealousy, reactions, or anger. In this episode of Well-Made Woman, we’re talking about what insecurity can actually look like, how to recognize when you’ve started carrying someone else’s, and what it looks like to respond without shrinking, retaliating, or trying to diagnose what’s happening inside of them. We’ll look at Saul, David, and Jonathan and the very different ways insecurity and security can shape the way we treat other people. And because October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we’re also having an important conversation about when insecurity crosses into control, intimidation, coercion, or abuse, and why those behaviors cannot be fixed by loving someone harder or becoming more reassuring. And we’re turning the mirror around too. Because sometimes we’re the insecure person. The goal isn’t to figure out who the villain is. It’s to get honest about what belongs to us, what doesn’t, and whether our own insecurity is affecting the people around us. You can care about someone without managing them. You can have compassion for what they’ve been through without excusing what they do with it. And you can love someone without making yourself smaller to keep them comfortable. Their insecurity isn’t yours to carry. Thank you for spending this time with me today. If this episode spoke to your heart, would you share it with another woman who needs to hear it? The Story Shame Told You to Hide

Send us Fan Mail There are parts of our stories we’re comfortable telling. And then there are the parts we hope nobody ever asks about. The things we’ve done. The things that have been done to us. The seasons we’re not proud of. The mistakes we made. The things we believed about ourselves for far too long. Those are usually the parts shame tells us to keep quiet. But I’ve learned that sometimes the story you’re most hesitant to tell is the one that makes someone else finally say, “Me too. I thought I was the only one.” In this episode of Well-Made Woman, I’m talking about why our stories matter and what my husband and I learned when we stood in front of a room full of people and shared some of the hardest parts of our marriage. It was uncomfortable and vulnerable, but afterward we understood why telling the truth about where we had been mattered so much. We’re also talking about what a testimony actually is, because it doesn’t have to be dramatic, and you don’t have to wait until everything in your life is fixed before you have something worth sharing. It can be as simple as: Where was I? Where did Jesus meet me? And what am I learning now? You don’t owe everyone every part of your story. There are things that are private, and wisdom matters when deciding what to share and with whom. But there is freedom in being able to look at something from your past and say, “Yes, that happened. It’s part of my story. But it doesn’t get to tell me who I am.” And maybe one day, the part you once wished you could erase will allow you to sit across from another woman and say, “I’ve been there too. Let me tell you what I learned.” Sometimes people don’t need someone with all the answers. They just need to know they’re not alone. Thank you for spending this time with me today. If this episode spoke to your heart, would you share it with another woman who needs to hear it? Who Have You Given Authority To?

Send us Fan Mail What if the reason you keep questioning what God is calling you to do has less to do with whether you’re qualified and more to do with who you’ve given authority to? Maybe someone told you that you weren’t ready. That you didn’t have enough experience. That you weren’t the right person. Maybe someone made you feel like you didn’t belong in the room at all. Or maybe no one had to say it out loud. Maybe comparison did it for you. You looked around and decided someone else was more qualified, more experienced, more polished, more spiritual, or already doing it better. And their voice, or maybe even your own insecurity, became louder than what God said. But who gave that voice authority? In this episode of Well-Made Woman, we’re talking about what happens when we give people, insecurity, comparison, or our past more authority over our lives than they were ever meant to have. Because all throughout Scripture, God used people who didn’t look qualified on paper. People with complicated stories. People who had been overlooked. People who had every reason to believe God should choose somebody else. And He called them anyway. Sometimes we’re waiting for permission from people God never gave authority over our calling. So maybe the question isn’t, “Am I qualified?” Maybe the question is: Who have I given authority to? If God has been stirring something in you and you keep finding reasons to talk yourself out of it, this episode is for you. Thank you for spending this time with me today. The Words We Carry

Send us Fan Mail Sometimes the words that shape us most are the ones spoken years ago. Recently, I opened a few storage bins I had packed before college, filled with pictures, awards, letters, newspaper clippings, and pieces of a life I hadn’t looked at in years. What I expected to be a simple trip down memory lane became something much deeper. It made me think about the voices we carry with us. Some people speak words that tear us down. Others see something in us before we can see it in ourselves. And whether we realize it or not, those words can become part of the way we see ourselves for years. In this episode of Well-Made Woman, we’re talking about the power our words have, the voices we’ve given authority to shape our identity, and how to recognize the difference between what someone said about you and what God says is true about you. Because words matter. The ones spoken over us, the ones we repeat to ourselves, and the ones we choose to speak over someone else. You may never fully know how much your words become part of someone else’s story. Thank you for spending this time with me today. Stop Waiting Until You Feel Ready

Send us Fan Mail What’s the thing you keep thinking about doing… but somehow keep talking yourself out of? Maybe you’ve researched it. Prayed about it. Gotten excited about it. Maybe you’ve even told yourself, “I’m finally going to do it.” And then fear, timing, other people’s opinions, or everything you don’t know convinces you to wait a little longer. But what if you’re waiting for a feeling that may never come? In this episode of Well-Made Woman, Mandy talks about what it really means to stop waiting until you feel ready, how purpose often becomes clearer looking backward than it does looking forward, and why you don’t need to have your entire life figured out to take the next step. Through her own story of studying theology, unexpected redirection, and starting Well-Made Woman without knowing where any of it would lead, Mandy shares what she’s learned about the difference between wise waiting and fear, trusting God’s timing, and being faithful with what He’s put in front of you. Your life has purpose, even when you can’t see how all the pieces fit together yet. You don’t need the whole plan. You don’t need a guarantee. And you don’t have to stop being afraid before you begin. Sometimes you just need enough light for the next step. Because ready isn’t a feeling. It’s a decision. Thank you for spending this time with me today. If this episode spoke to your heart, would you share it with another woman who needs to hear it? God Never Asked You to Submit to Abuse

Send us Fan Mail What happens when Scripture, submission, forgiveness, sex, or church authority are used to keep a woman afraid, silent, or under someone else’s control? Being a biblical wife does not mean enduring abuse. Submission is not domination. Forgiveness is not unlimited access. Marriage is not automatic sexual consent. And seeking safety is not rebellion against God. In this episode of Well-Made Woman, Mandy talks about the ways abuse can hide inside Christian marriages and church communities, especially when spiritual language is used to manipulate, intimidate, or control. Drawing from nearly three years serving in marriage ministry, Mandy also challenges the Church to recognize the difference between an ordinary struggling marriage and an abusive one, respond wisely when a woman discloses abuse, and refuse to protect reputations, ministries, or appearances at the expense of people. We talk about biblical headship and submission, the story of Abigail and Nabal, forgiveness versus reconciliation, what genuine repentance looks like, sexual coercion inside marriage, and why Jesus, not a husband, pastor, or church leader, is ultimately Lord. If you have ever wondered whether telling the truth, setting a boundary, asking for help, saying no, or getting somewhere safe makes you a bad Christian wife, this conversation is for you. And if abuse is not part of your story, this episode still matters. Because someday a woman may trust you enough to tell you hers. Abuse is not biblical. Control is not headship. Fear is not submission. Marriage is not automatic sexual consent. And Jesus never asked you to carry someone else’s abuse to prove your faithfulness to Him.
