Who Wants to Be A Millionaire? (Our cat, apparently)

We can safely say that our eldest cat Nate steals this week’s show - so much so that we decide to make him a vital lifeline in our playthrough of 2000’s Who Wants to Be A Millionaire board game! Tyler gets an oddly high number of questions related to birds, and Chase later questions his husband’s knowledge of Communist leadership history. We also dispense with the pre-printed lifeline answer cards in favor of reviving Ask the Host, and turning Phone-a-Friend into Ask Google AI.

    Great Big Game Show

Coming to you this week from The Island in Pigeon Forge, TN - home to one of dozens of locations of "Great Big Game Show." It's the only place where you and your family can become game show contestants any time you want! It's a great idea for birthday parties, vacations, or game show fanatics like yours truly! You're going to hear the entirety of our one-hour session, including our randomly-selected mini games complete with play-by-play by the hosts of our show, Phillip and (the animated) Chip.

    The Wall

The big money game show THE WALL does not have a U.S. home game adaptation - but the United Kingdom's does, so we imported theirs and gave it a play. (This is another with more visuals that may mean a better experience on our YouTube channel - but stick around for the end of each round where there is a recap of what happened!

Classic Concentration (feat. John Ricci Jr.)

his is a big one - and a big guest too! John Ricci Jr. is a game show producer with credits including $100,000 Pyramid (with Michael Strahan) and his own pilot project, Combination Lock. He offered to run a virtual game of Classic Concentration for us, and we jumped at the chance. You'll first see us try out the 1988 Pressman home game adaptation, and you'll soon see why we much prefer John's more technologically advanced spin on the game. This episode is much more heavily reliant on being able to see what's going on, so if you're hearing us over a podcast service, why not try checking out the A Copy of Our Home Game YouTube channel for the full audiovisual experience?

Wheel of Fortune (1986 Deluxe Edition)

So many wheels! Flying wedges! Tasty preserves! This episode's got everything. We close out our #MervGriffin Appreciation Month with the monster that is #WheelOfFortune. We have eight board games in our collection, and we'll be playing 1986's Deluxe Wheel of Fortune in this episode. Spin along with us if you like, get your good guesses ready, and mind your P's and Q's, along with your RSTLNE's.

    Merv Griffin's Crosswords

We continue our Merv Griffin Appreciation Month (patent pending) with 2006's "Merv Griffin's Crosswords" and its 2008 home game release. If you thought our Jeopardy play through was a hot mess, you haven't seen anything yet - between bad clues, misprints on cards and a write-on-the-board game mechanic, it's no wonder we abandoned trying to keep score on this one!

    Jeopardy!

We're back! And between Tyler forgetting the context to his categories, Chase forgetting to phrase his responses in the form of a question, and general bad game board picks, we think we've racked up the most incorrect answers in an episode of our show to date! How badly do they fare? Let's just say they have a lot more practice to do before they want to take the Anytime Test for themselves.

    MTV's Remote Control

It was already a foregone conclusion that Chase would win our game of MTV's #RemoteControl #gameshow #homegame... so we made it more interesting by incorporating one of the show's famous bits - the Snack Break! (see 28:39) In fact, it happens a few times throughout the game and adds to the overall chaotic nature of this episode. Catch classic trivia categories including BRADY PHYSICS... SIX FEET UNDER... and much to Chase's chagrin, BALD GUYS and see how your pop culture knowledge stacks up. We lost some greats this week, including the great #DollyParton.
