    Episode 10: Bread & Roses

Fresh off a stripping trip through the North Woods, Velveeta returns to Hollywood wondering why coming home to the hustle left her feeling stressed instead of fulfilled. Stories from small dive clubs become a case for the value of stripping itself, where connection becomes part of the work and emotional labor finally comes with a price tag. A fresh lychee from Grocery Outlet leads Velveeta toward a bigger question: why should workers have to spend their lives pursuing happiness instead of getting to enjoy it? She turns to labor organizer Rose Schneiderman and the idea of “bread and roses,” arguing that workers deserve more than enough to simply survive. They deserve pleasure, leisure, and the fruits of what their labor creates. Against a culture built around accumulation and endless striving, Velveeta makes her pitch for redistribution and a different measure of wealth: appreciating what we already have and sharing it with each other.   Thank you to our network partner New Moon Network for supporting YAS Work. Episode 9: Sex Workers Are Essential Workers

Velveeta kicks things off with “Cherry Bomb” before getting into the fight to unionize Star Garden and what happened after the dancers won their jobs back. A fired passerby gets recruited into the newly coined “labor wave,” while Velveeta argues for decriminalization and declares sex workers essential workers. Marianina arrives ready to imagine a different social order, taking on patriarchy, hierarchy, and who gets to hold power. The conversation turns toward intersectional feminism before landing on mutual aid as something people can practice right now: share resources, ask for help, trust your neighbors. Velveeta reflects on learning to have faith in other people during the Star Garden campaign, and Marianina brings it home with an original protest song calling for the walls to come down.   Find Us: TikTok: @FreeVelveeta https://tiktok.com/@freevelveeta (live every Wednesday at 6PM PST) YouTube: @StilettoBox https://youtube.com/@stilettobox Part of the YAS Network — https://yaswork.org/yas-network   CHAPTERS: 00:57 Unionizing for Worker Rights 02:37 The Struggles of Collective Bargaining 06:54 Demanding Change and Solidarity 10:39 Decriminalizing Sex Work 14:23 Patriarchy and Collective Liberation 16:37 Unmasking Historical Lies 19:54 Confronting Colonialism and Its Legacy 23:02 Solidarity and Intersectionality in Activism 25:58 Empowerment Through Mutual Aid 28:57 Faith in Community and Collective Action 33:07 Art as Protest and Expression

Episode 7: Always Proud, Staying Loud

Pretty Woman sends Velveeta down a Hollywood Boulevard rabbit hole about what sex work actually is, who gets to call it work, and why solidarity has to extend across the industry. Drawing connections between street-based work and stripping, she breaks down sex work as performance, pleasure, sales, and labor while taking aim at the patriarchal entitlement that expects women and femmes to provide it all for free.   Former stripper and sex worker Bo joins Velveeta on the street with the Sex Worker Communist Manifesto, a gleefully anti-capitalist call for sex worker resistance and collective liberation. From refusing respectability politics to imagining a world beyond exploitative work, they talk worker power, community care, and the radical possibilities sex workers already create for one another. The message from the boulevard is simple: put up the paywall, support survival sex workers, and fight for decriminalization.    Find Them: SWIM Website: https://swim229.com   Find Us: TikTok: @FreeVelveeta https://tiktok.com/@freevelveeta (live every Wednesday at 6PM PST) YouTube: @StilettoBox https://youtube.com/@stilettobox Part of the YAS Network — https://yaswork.org/yas-network   CHAPTERS: 01:08 Reflections on 'Pretty Woman' and Solidarity 04:39 Demystifying Sex Work and Its Realities 08:25 The Performance Aspect of Sex Work 12:27 Understanding the Sales Dynamics in Sex Work 17:18 The Impact of Patriarchy on Perceptions of Sex Work 21:42 Introduction to Sex Worker Liberation 21:49 The Sex Worker Communist Manifesto 23:28 Challenging Work Under Capitalism 25:31 Sex Work as a Form of Resistance 28:01 Sex Worker Radicalism and Community Support 30:59 Refusal and Revolutionary Dreams 33:32 The Role of Solidarity in Sex Work 40:58 Decriminalization and Support for Sex Workers 45:47 Artistry and Aesthetics in Sex Work 46:02 Love and Relationships in the Context of Sex Work

    Episode 6: Dignity Is Subjective

Workers have the right to define dignity for themselves, not politicians, police, or moral panic. If labor deserves rights, respect, and agency, then sex work should not be treated as the exception. Velveeta explores French sex work policy, the Nordic Model, and competing ideas of consent under capitalism while making the case that organizing workers is a better response than criminalization. From worker co-ops to hotel housekeepers, the conversation connects labor movements across industries before turning to porn, patriarchy, bodily autonomy, and the cultural stigma surrounding women who own their sexuality. The episode closes with a call for bottom-up change rooted in solidarity rather than prohibition, and an invitation to imagine dignity on workers’ own terms.   Find Us: TikTok: @FreeVelveeta https://tiktok.com/@freevelveeta (live every Wednesday at 6PM PST) YouTube: @StilettoBox https://youtube.com/@stilettobox Part of the YAS Network — https://yaswork.org/yas-network   CHAPTERS: 00:00 - Fight for Your Right to Party 01:11 Introduction to Advocating for Stripper Rights 02:45 - Comparative Analysis of Sex Worker Rights in France and the US 04:13 - Secularism and Religion in Policy 05:27 - The Nordic Model and Trafficking 08:00 - Consent Under Capitalism 09:08 - Sex Work and Second Wave Feminism 14:02 - Dignity is Subjective 16:47 - Consent in Sex Work in the U.S. 18:23 - Constructive Ideas and Solutions 19:26 - Sex Work as an Essential Service 20:43 - Empowerment and Self-Determination 21:47 - Porn and Ownership of Women's Sexuality

    Episode 5: Stay Weird Hollywood

Whore liberation takes center stage as Velveeta and Marianina return to Hollywood Boulevard, turning the sidewalk into a soapbox for sex worker rights, labor organizing, and collective action. Fired from Deja Vu after attempting to unionize, they challenge whorephobia, celebrate Belgium’s labor protections for sex workers, and argue that liberation begins by standing together against exploitation. From retaliation claims to employee misclassification, the hosts unpack what California workers should know about organizing, whistleblower protections, AB5, and why strippers are employees under the law. They share their own legal battles, explain how clubs manipulate dancers’ understanding of workplace rights, and encourage sex workers to assert the protections already available to them. Along the way, they discuss wage theft, workers compensation, and police stings targeting dancers, insisting that bosses profit from stigma while workers generate the wealth. Stay weird, Hollywood. Episode 3: Lap Dances & Labor Law

Outside Deja Vu Showgirls Hollywood, former dancer and union organizer Velveeta turns the sidewalk into a public square for Stilettobox. After dedicating the show to her late friend Guillermo and reflecting on the risks faced by undocumented workers, she shares some anarchist labor history and breaks down the stubborn power of workers who refuse to stay quiet. Labor attorney Jordan Palmer joins to connect the lessons of Labor Notes to the fight for stripper rights. As legal director for Strippers United and an attorney with UNITE HERE Local 11, Jordan explains why workers do not need government recognition to act like a union. Together, they unpack open-join unions, mutual aid, retaliation protections, and tactics such as marching on the boss. Naturally, the revolution ends with the classic labor song, Dolly Parton's 9 to 5. Episode 2: Green Party Solidarity

The episode opens with an explicit comedic monologue, then introduces Stilettobox on the YAS Network, hosted by former Deja Vu Hollywood dancers Velveeta and Marianina, who say they were fired for organizing a union and now soapbox on Hollywood Boulevard about exploitation in stripping, sex worker oppression, and collective organizing. They discuss social media censorship and repeated Instagram bans of their stripper worker co-op, and contrast commerce with capitalism, arguing sex work is an essential service providing intimacy and emotional support. Marianina promotes co-ops and anti-capitalism, and Velveeta advocates ranked-choice and compulsory voting, criticizing local and state electoral outcomes and police funding.   Green Party member Trina joins to describe Green Party policies supporting decriminalizing sex work and including sex work in labor rights, plus decentralized organizing and eco-socialism. The stream includes street debates about consent and objectification, ends with “Bella Ciao,” and notes TikTok visibility restrictions before signing off.   00:00 Chaotic Whore Anthem 00:50 Show Intro and Backstory 03:02 Soapbox Premise and Hecklers 03:49 Social Media Censorship 06:04 Commerce Versus Capitalism 08:20 Why Sex Work Matters 11:02 Gender Theory Teaser 11:58 Stiletto Box Setup 13:32 Coops Not Capitalism 16:54 Elections and Police Budgets 19:49 Ranked Choice Voting 24:06 Tax Resistance Talk 27:31 TikTok Visibility Warning 28:21 Green Party Guest Arrives 29:20 Decriminalization Platform 34:54 Organizing Roadblocks 38:57 Green Party Structure 40:17 Taking Back Power 40:47 Building Green Movement 43:44 Green Party Misconceptions 44:45 Strength From Oppression 45:54 Consent Debate Erupts 52:16 Objectification Versus Consent 56:03 Wrap Up And Music 58:09 Bella Ciao Finale 01:00:38 Censorship And Sign Off   Find them: TikTok: @FreeVelveeta (live every Wednesday at 6PM PST) YouTube: @StilettoBox Part of the YAS Network — yaswork.org
