In this episode of Behind the Bone, I walk you through the exact system I use from January until opening day to consistently find and hunt mature whitetails on public land. After walking away from an Ohio outfitted hunt, my brother and I committed ourselves to earning every opportunity on public land. What followed was a season that tested me in every way imaginable. We discovered what we would eventually call the Bachelor Pad. We found a buck that consumed our thoughts. We switched to saddle hunting and questioned everything we thought we knew.
