    A Little Naive Thought

    A Little Naive Thought is a lyric essay about wanting to remain close to someone who may never fully belong to the speaker in the way he hopes. Moving through difference, desire, pain, tenderness, jealousy, imagined futures, private symbols, and the fear of departure, the speaker tries to understand whether love can exist without possession or certainty. It is a confession about longing, vulnerability, asymmetry, and the naive but beautiful hope that two people might protect each other across whatever life becomes.

    Being in Love

    Being in Love is a lyric essay about the overwhelming attempt to define a feeling that cannot be made logical, equal, or safe. Moving through scars, bodies, private language, time, pain, trust, loneliness, and asymmetry, the speaker tries to protect his own experience of being in love from being judged or reduced by someone else’s understanding of it. It is a confession about longing, acceptance, vulnerability, and the strange dignity of loving differently, even when the feeling is not returned in the same way.

    Roaming is the story of a narrator spending his birthday in Barcelona after a World Cup final he barely cares about, drifting through memories, shops, desire, class observations, and a long call with an old friend whose divorce raises questions about love, loneliness, and the lives people end up in. As he moves through El Born, Raval, La Mina, and the Fòrum, his messages with Julian turn a loose day of wandering into a possible step toward intimacy he does not yet know how to name. It is a story about aging, sexual uncertainty, memory, loneliness, and the strange effort of roaming through a city while trying to return to life.

    Bare Feet is the story of a man in Barcelona trying to return to public life after a long period of isolation, starting with beer, cigarettes, a walk through the city, and the accidental discovery that he has left home without shoes. As he moves through Barceloneta, El Born, and Marula Café, the night becomes a chain of small encounters — a homeless man, the pizza-parlor girl, bouncers, strangers, a nuclear-weapons scientist, and Julian. It is a precise, wandering story about travel, loneliness, accidental closeness, self-consciousness, and the quiet way people meet, share a road for a while, and then disappear again.

    Frog or Rat is the story of a traveller waking after a night in a Kyrgyz yurt and moving through a day shaped by illness, memory, strangers, and unexpected conversations. As he returns to Balykchy, meets two long-distance motorcyclists, and later speaks with Aygul about freedom, regret, ambition, and the life she might still choose, the journey becomes less about movement than recognition. It is a quiet, searching story about travel, aging, chance encounters, lost possibilities, and the strange comfort of being briefly understood by people you may never see again.
