    Ever looked in the mirror and thought how the f**k did this happen?

    Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought, “Where did I go?” This is a personal story about living through an abusive relationship and slowly losing my identity without even realising it. Looking back, I can see how I changed, how addiction became a way of coping, and how the person staring back at me in the mirror no longer felt like me. This isn’t about blaming anyone. It’s about sharing my experience, making sense of what happened, and hopefully helping someone else realise they’re not alone. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m still here… and that’s where my recovery begins.

    On payday, I lost an entire month’s rent in less than an hour. I left the betting shop angry, frustrated and wondering how I was going to survive the rest of the month. Then, within minutes, I made another split-second decision that landed me face to face with a man twice my size. What happened next still makes me laugh today. This is a true story about addiction, panic, quick thinking, and one of the strangest ways I’ve ever managed to get myself out of trouble.
