Moving From California To Tennessee? 5 Tips You NEED To Know

If you're moving from California to Tennessee, there are a few things you should figure out before you start booking flights, touring homes, or calling moving companies. After helping a lot of people make the California to Tennessee move, I've noticed that the people who have the smoothest relocations usually do a few important things early in the process. In this video, I'm sharing 5 tips for moving from California to Tennessee that can help you get organized, understand what you can realistically afford, and create an actual plan for making the move happen. We’ll talk about: ✅ Figure out your priorities — Schools, commute, airport access, restaurants, shopping, land, neighborhood feel, and the things that actually matter to your everyday life. ✅ Talk to people who have already made the move — One of the best resources when leaving California for Tennessee is hearing directly from people who have already done it. I also run a private Facebook group called Moving From California to Tennessee, where people share their experiences, moving-company recommendations, lessons learned, and advice. ✅ Know your finances before you start — Understand what your California home may realistically sell for, how much cash you'll have after the sale, what mortgage you qualify for, moving expenses, vehicle transportation, and employment before getting too far into the process. ✅ Establish a relationship with a Tennessee Realtor early - You don't have to be ready to buy tomorrow. A good Tennessee Realtor can help you learn communities, understand home prices, compare different areas, and plan your move months—or even a year—in advance. ✅ Set a timeline and stick to it Instead of saying, “Maybe we'll move next spring,” pick a target date and work backward. When does your California home need to be listed? When do you need to be under contract in Tennessee? When should you start talking with lenders and Realtors? A real timeline turns the idea of moving to Tennessee from California into an actual plan. Whether you're considering moving to Franklin TN, moving from California to Nashville, or exploring other communities throughout Middle Tennessee, the biggest thing is to start planning early. Moving across the country can feel overwhelming, but breaking the process into smaller decisions makes it much easier. If you're thinking about moving out of California and want help figuring out where you might fit in Tennessee, feel free to reach out. I help people relocate throughout Middle Tennessee and would be happy to answer questions even if your move is still a long way off. And if you're moving from California to Tennessee, look for my private Facebook group: Moving From California to Tennessee. There are a lot of people in there who have already made the move and are willing to share what they learned along the way.
