Ep 04 | The Book of Mormon: Why It Was Written for You

Ep. 04 | The Book of Mormon: Why It Was Written for You Why was the Book of Mormon written? Was it just an ancient record buried in the ground? A book of religious history? Or could it be something much more personal? In this episode of Inspired by a Better Cause, Brother Richards takes young men on a journey through the story, purpose, and message of the Book of Mormon—from Lehi and his family, to Captain Moroni and the ancient prophets, to Mormon and Moroni preserving their testimonies for a future generation. A generation like yours. This episode explores why the Book of Mormon was written, how it stands alongside the Bible as another testament of Jesus Christ, and why its message still matters to young men today. Through stories of faith, courage, war, family struggles, repentance, and personal growth, we discover that the Book of Mormon is filled with people asking the same questions many young men are asking today: Who am I? Does God really know me? Can I change? What do I do when I mess up? How do I become the man God wants me to become? Brother Richards also shares a personal story about his Grandpa Richards and the moment a well-worn Book of Mormon went from feeling boring to becoming a book filled with heroes, courage, sacrifice, and faith. Most importantly, this episode points back to the center of the Book of Mormon: Jesus Christ. The Savior lives. He knows you. He loves you. You are a son of God. And you can discover the truth of the Book of Mormon for yourself. If you have never really read the Book of Mormon—or if your testimony is still growing—this episode is an invitation to start. Open the book. Read the words. Pray about it. Ask God for yourself. Don't just inherit someone else's faith. Build your own. This episode is for young men ages 12–18 who are searching for faith, identity, purpose, courage, and a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ. Whether you're listening from Utah, across the United States, or anywhere in the world, the invitation is the same: Come unto Christ. Stand for truth. Be unashamed. Ep 03 | Does God Love Me? Yes He Does!

Welcome to Episode 03 of Inspired by a Better Cause. Does God really love me? Yes He does!  If you've ever asked that question—or wondered if God knows your name, sees your struggles, hears your prayers, or actually cares about what you're going through—this episode is for you. In this episode, Brother Richards tackles one of the most important questions a young man can ask: Does God love me? Drawing from the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the teachings of Jesus Christ, and the words of modern prophets and apostles, this episode explores five powerful truths every young man needs to remember: You are enough, and you are worth great measure. You are not alone. Being broken does not make you worthless. Heavenly Father has surrounded you with people who love you. There is a God—and yes, He loves you. Brother Richards talks about the Atonement of Jesus Christ, the love of Heavenly Father, repentance, healing, self-worth, purpose, and what it means to be a beloved son of God. This episode is for any young man who has ever felt alone, broken, forgotten, rejected, unworthy, afraid, or unsure if he can find his way back to God. You don't have to be perfect for Jesus Christ to love you. You don't have to have everything figured out. You don't have to fight every battle alone. You are a son of God. You are loved. You are needed. You have a purpose. This week's challenge: • Choose one of the five truths from this episode that you need most right now. Write it down and spend five minutes each day thinking and praying about it. • Reach out to someone who loves you. Tell them you appreciate them, or let them know if you're struggling. • Think of someone who may be feeling alone or forgotten and remind them that they matter. Sometimes, the way Heavenly Father answers someone's prayer is by sending another person. Maybe this week, that person is you. If this episode encouraged you, be sure to follow the podcast, leave a review, and share it with another young man who could use a reminder that he is loved. 📧 Send your questions, thoughts, and the things you're wrestling with to: inspiredbyabettercause@outlook.com Strength and honor.
