    GEARS: grades

Buckle up broken friends…..I’ve had a thought….which is unfortunate for all of us! It’s time for a little sarcasm…..hands up who has had their trauma ‘graded’ by a stranger? Did it grind your gears? It grinds mine! Welcome to GEARS a broken sub-series.

    episode 10 - cipher

The world gives us 5 love languages; after breaking, survival gave me 6 to keep them in order. Do you live between two languages?

    episode 9 - mimic (e)

The mimic looks harmless until you realise the game was designed for you to lose. This episode is about recognising the monster beneath the disguise, taking back the rules and creating a game it can no longer control.

    episode 8 : knowledge (e)

Survival made a researcher out of me. I built an arsenal of facts, evidence and answers because I could no longer afford to walk into battle empty handed.

    episode 5: adrenaline (e)

The danger disappeared. The crisis ended. The storm passed. But my body is still preparing for war. This episode examines the invisible ways that being broken changes the nervous system. From hyper vigilance, panic attacks and flashback, to mistaking chaos for normal and peace for danger.

    episode 4: single (e)

In this episode of the broken ones I explore the choice to remain single after heartbreak, trauma and survival. This is not a story about giving up on love, it is about discovering that peace, self-worth that does not come from being chosen by someone. I unpack the pressure to find a relationship, the difference between loneliness and solitude, and why some broken ones learn to protect their peace rather than settle for less than they deserve.

    episode 3: baggage (e)

People talk about baggage as though it is a flaw, a warning sign, or something that makes a person less worthy of love, connection, or understanding. But the truth is, everybody carries something. In this episode of The Broken Ones, we explore what baggage really is, not the trauma itself, but the emotional fingerprints it leaves behind. From fear, shame, and grief to trust, relationships, and self-worth, this conversation challenges the idea that healing means becoming untouched by the past. Instead, it asks a different question: what if the goal is not to get rid of our baggage, but to understand it? A raw and honest reflection on trauma, self-awareness, love, and the freedom that comes when we stop judging ourselves for the things we carry. Because baggage is not proof that something is wrong with you. It is proof that you have lived.

    episode 2: healed (e)

Healing is so often the accepted goal - the finish line that proves we’ve overcome our pain. But what if that’s not the whole story? In this episode, I question the belief that you have be healed, fixed, or whole to be worthy. Maybe the question shouldn’t be “are you healed?”, it should be “How do I live with what I’ve been through without turning on myself?”…

    episode 1: broken (e)

This is a space for the people who’ve been through it and broken…the ones who’ve felt lost, distant, unsure of who they are anymore - forever changed…broken. It’s about moments that cracked us open and the strength we have felt picking up the pieces - on our own. It’s about being ok with being broken, with being UN-healed - with carrying baggage so heavy others wouldn’t understand. It’s about sitting in the uncomfortable moments and finding a safe place, it’s about raw honesty - it’s about locking it down or opening it up. Welcome. Thebrokenonespod@gmail.com
