Episode 6 :The Person in the Mirror

For the last two conversations, we’ve been working our way toward this mirror. In Episode 4, we talked about friends, family, and boundaries. In Episode 5, Conditioning the Conversation, we went deeper into the things we learned, the things we saw, and the behaviors and beliefs we carried into adulthood without even realizing it. Now the conversation turns inward. Because I can set boundaries with everybody around me. I can understand everything that happened to me. I can trace behaviors back to where they started. But eventually... I still have to deal with Abdul. And you still have to deal with the person looking back at you. In Episode 6 of A Seat at the Table, The Person in the Mirror, we talk about what happens once you recognize your patterns and have to decide what you’re going to do with them. We explore accountability without self-blame, communication, trust, vulnerability, manhood, old survival habits, breaking unhealthy cycles, and what it means to outgrow versions of ourselves that may have helped us survive but can no longer take us where we’re trying to go. One of the hardest questions in this conversation is: Who might be paying today for wounds they didn’t create? This episode isn’t about shame. It isn’t about pretending your past didn’t affect you. It’s about recognizing that while conditioning can explain where a pattern came from, accountability gives us the power to change it. Episode 4 asked us to look around. Episode 5 asked us to look back. Episode 6 asks us to... look within. What pattern am I ready to break? Who might be paying for wounds they didn’t create? And most importantly... Who am I becoming? Because once you see the pattern, you have a choice. You can keep repeating what wounded you... or become the person who finally breaks it. 🎙️ A Seat at the Table Hosted by Abdul Boynes Real conversations. Real people. Real growth.
