    3 Lessons From Today's AM Briefing This is a Level 10 week. Contract rollover, FOMC tomorrow, and option expiration all landing at once, and the tape spent Monday running a full day of points before noon. Weeks like this punish the trader who needs action. Here is what today was actually teaching. Lesson 1: You do not have to trade this week On a Level 10 week you can Stand Down and lose nothing. If you do trade, be perfect in your discipline, never let a trade go against you, and never make things worse. Lesson 2: Stop chasing after a full day's run Once price has already covered a full day's worth of points, the next long or short gets dangerous. Late in a move a gift of breakeven is a win, so take it. Lesson 3: Drop to the actual contract during rollover The continuous chart handles rollover differently and can throw your key levels off. Drop to the specific contract you trade so your levels and confluence line up before you risk a dime. This is the kind of week that punishes the trader who needs action and pays the one who waits. Here is what today was actually teaching. Lesson 1: Respect a Level 10 week When the calendar is loaded, take clean, clear trades only. Do not force a setup and do not drop down in time frames… the opportunity comes to the patient. Lesson 2: Name your Bull Bear Line before the open Decide the level that says the bulls are real, and give it a job. If price cannot hold it, you have your answer… a rally that fails there is short covering, not real demand. Lesson 3: Count your Strong Levels Five to seven Strong Levels traversed is usually a full down move. Once price has covered six, most of the downside is spent, so keep your power dry instead of chasing. When you know your location, the best trades become obvious. Lesson 2: Let a mapped move finish, then stop pressing The positional short played out for a clean 1 to 4 and ran into the bounce zone the plan already expected. Once a mapped move hits its target, quit hunting that direction and look for the reaction the other way. Lesson 1: Tag your rollover week and journal it Create a rollover week tag in your journal and use it every entry this week. Next quarter you pull the tag, read your notes, and trade off real history instead of memory. Lesson 2: Read the full Battle Plan, not just the lines The written brief carries the color the chart mappings cannot show, like the Speculator Special that ran overnight. Levels alone give you most of the picture, the notes give you the rest. Lesson 3: Take profits at the next Strong Level Map your entry and your exit before you are in the trade. Lesson 1: Some days the trade is no trade When the move already happened and the calendar is loaded with warnings, zero Battle Plans is the correct plan. Saying no protects your capital and your mindset for the days that pay. Lesson 2: Hold one runner behind the right stop Take your 30 points to deleverage, then hold a single runner with your stop behind the apex of Battle Plan 3. That one runner turned 30 points into 70, then 140, for doing nothing. Lesson 1: Earn the right to trade Run a pre-trade routine before you touch the button. Thirty minutes. Update your levels, watch the briefing, check your head. Trade unprepared and you deserve the loss. Lesson 2: Know where you are on the chart Look for longs at the bottom of the range, shorts at the top. Go long in the red or short in the green and you are fighting the structure. Location sets your odds before the setup does.
